âWhy arenât you responding? You wonât like me when I become fat?â
âNo, not at all. I like you no matter what. Youâd look pretty either way,â he finally replied.
âEven if you donât mean it, it feels good to hear that.â Yiyoung jokingly glared at him. âThen, I eat a lot, and wonât deny the food!â
Muyeol smiled and kissed her on the head. Yiyoungâs mood was always lifted when he kissed her. It let her know that she was loved.
The two took a bus to the mountain after they heard that the parking lot there was always packed. After they got off, they followed the horde of people walking toward the mountain.
âThere are quite a lot of people.â âThere are a lot of people here.â
âYeah.â
Muyeol and Yiyoung became a part of the crowd. As they went up, they saw that the road split into two paths. One was so people could walk around the mountain, and the other path led to the top of the mountain. The two of them took the first path so they could walk around.
âThe weather looks like itâs going to change,â Yiyoung commented.
Muyeol looked up at the sky. The weather seemed fine when they left their house, it seemed like it would rain soon. They could smell the rain in the wind. He asked, âShould we just go home then?â
âNo, when it starts to rain, then we can head back. The air here is different.â
It really was different; it was cool and fresh, feeling like their lungs had been cleared. It was fun to walk around the mountain, with the fair amount of hills that occupied it. But then it started raining, and they couldnât continue anymore.
âLetâs head back.â
âOkay.â
Theyâd managed to walk a considerable distance, and could enjoy the feel of stepping on the ground.
Muyeol took off his jacket and moved to cover Yiyoungâs head, but she avoided it, laughing hard as she said, âItâs been a while since Iâve felt the rain. I donât even remember the last time.â
Yiyoung jumped in circles, her arms wide open like a child. âThis is so exciting! I feel like a kid right now.â
Muyeol watched as she walked around with a grin. All the other people were busy trying to avoid the rain, but here she was, enjoying it instead. He found it nice how she knew how to enjoy nature.
âCome here.â Yiyoung reached out to him. âLetâs feel the rain together.â
Muyeol took her hand.
After climbing down the mountain, the two went to a noodle restaurant and ordered noodle bowls and kimchi pancakes. The food was delicious, and since Yiyoung had enjoyed the meal so much, Muyeol ordered another bowl of noodles for her. Once she was done eating, the pair moved to a nearby cafe. They chose a table from where they could look outside the window, and sat down next to each other.
Yiyoung stared out into the rain and muttered, âI loved the feeling of the rain pouring on me. Itâs going to be a great memory.â
Muyeol watched her silently.
âWeâll be good parents in the future, right?â she asked.
He smiled at her.
âWe would be able to make our child laugh a lot, right?â she questioned again.
Muyeol gently held her shoulder and hugged her.
âItâll be my first time as a mother, so Iâm scared. But Iâll try my best, and Iâll be relying on you.â Yiyoung turned and hugged him back before whispering, âItâs been seven weeks.â
Muyeol hugged her even more tightly. Determined, he said, âOur child will definitely be happier than us. Trust me.â
âI will.â
He stroked her back. âIâm happier than before.â
âMe too.â
