The mind is a powerful trickster,
It causes us to ponder, worry, and tremble.
Being left alone with your thoughts is not an easy task.
Depression may waver over you like a halo-
You have no control over it.
Yet it can feed our delusions.
Is it such a bad thing?
But it consumes me, like the darkness I run from,
An awakening nightmare you can't wake from,
Because it's in your head.
It's in my head, but it seems so real,
Hard to comprehend how twisted it can be.
Frightening how a person, a situation, or an event
Can have this drastic effect on us.
We crumble like plastic-so sarcastic how it plays off.
They were meant to bring us joy,
To figure out solutions to our problems,
Not cause pollution to the very thing that makes us sane.
It's dangerously disturbing how our mind works.
