I trusted you,
I thought you were my friend.
But you became a backstabbing,
Hurtful presence in the end.
A honed blade, sharp, pierced my heart,
If only I had sensed the dart from the start.
Trust is earned,
Yet once broken, it cannot be returned.
The laughs we shared, the sorrows and prayers,
What was once joyful dissolved into despair.
Sour and bitter, our bond now lies,
A shadow of love beneath the skies.
God, protect this fragile heart of mine,
For I fear it's caged, beyond repair in time.
Frozen, breathless, trapped in its despair,
Left to wonder-was I unfair?
Was I not a good friend?
Did I somehow betray?
Why did you hurt me so deeply that day?
Now I seek solace, strength to defend,
A prayer for healing-a chance to amend.
