Stephan ushered him through a door, announcing, âHeâs with me.â When a burly male tried to stop them. âHe wanted ID, but you donât need it,â Stephan told him arrogantly.
All these words he had no idea what they meant.
They walked up a set of stairs, music was getting louder and louder, he recognised the music but when they were halfway up the steps, it was already the loudest heâd ever heard. Once they reached a large dark room with multicoloured lighting dotted around the room, it was deafening. Chris had to refrain from putting his hands over his ears.
He saw lots of, well, obviously humans. Lots of males, some females and some very tall females⦠taller than werewolf females who he believed were taller than human females. (Except for Klara, she was just tiny).
Stephan guided him to a bar, âWhat you having? On me.â
Chris thought to all the human films heâd watched, he wasnât one hundred percent their drinks were the same. âBeer?â
âTwo beers!â
The drinks arrived quickly and he gulped half the beer down in one, looking around the room. He wanted to call it a bar, but he wasnât sure if that was accurate, it didnât look like one heâd seen in any film before.
Two males were kissing in a corner, other groups were chatting over the loud music. âOH! Havenât seen you here before!â a female voice announced, making Chris turn, a female with long blonde hair leant on the bar within an inch of him.
A hand landed on his upper thigh, âHeâs with me, Sandy.â
Chris looked down at Stephanâs hand and slid it off, he wasnât comfortable with the human touching him.
âWhy donât you come meet everyone⦠what was your name again?â Sandy asked.
âOh, Chris,â he shouted over the music.
âOK, Chris, no need to shout.â
His eyebrows twitched in a frown, he thought humanâs hearing wasnât very good?
âSorry,â he replied at a more normal volume.
âNo problem, honey, anyway, weâre just over there.â Sandy pointed to a large group in the corner, talking loudly.
He sunk his teeth into his bottom lip, Stephan had been kind enough to help him earlier, and as he glanced to the blonde he didnât look too happy with the idea of Chris moving from his spot.
âThank you, Sandy, I think I am well here.â
âSuit yourself.â Sandy shrugged and sauntered back over to the group sheâd gestured at earlier.
âSo.â His hand was back on Chrisâ leg, âWhat music do you like?â
âErm⦠this kind?â He gestured to the air, referring to the music being played. He didnât have an ear for human music like his sister.
âAh, you came on the right night then, every Thursday is Eighties night.â
âSeems that I did. What do you like?â
âJust about everything. Iâm very eclectic.â
âVery good.â
âYouâre an odd one.â
Chris blushed in embarrassment, âSorry.â
âNo! Itâs not a bad thing. I like it. Youâre innocent.â
âThank you?â
Drinks kept appearing, as soon as heâd finished one, another would be in his hand, this wasnât too unusual, for him anyway. The rate of his consumption didnât really match Stephanâs, âYou may need to slow down there,â Stephan announced.
âWhy?â The beer was having no effect on him, although this one had a slightly odd bitter taste to it, but he thought maybe the beer was different to what he had been drinking. It made him slow down though, not enjoying this new flavour.
âChris! Oh my god, I havenât seen you in forever!â a voice that sounded like a man putting on a female voice sounded to his right before he was encapsulated in a big hug. âHe put something in your drink, put it down,â the voice spoke quietly in his ear.
Put what in his drink?
He put the drink down, however. Hearing the warning in the voice. He was released so he could see someone who certainly looked like a male, in femaleâs clothingâ¦. Like Mrs Doubtfire, except for this individual seemed to express a love of blue, from the topaz eyeshadow to the matching sequined dress. âI didnât even recognise you until Sandy said your name! Come on, you have to meet everyone!â Chris was tugged from his seat, he was so bewildered he let it happen, if he wanted to stop it he could have.
âIâm Shae, by the way. How much of that drink did you have?â Shae asked as they pulled Chris into their side.
âNot much.â Heâd only had a few sips.
âOh well, doll, weâll look after you, just sit, sit.â He was pushed in between two men on a pink leather sofa. âStart feeling dizzy or woozy, you tell us,â Shae announced, sitting opposite. âThis is Oscar and Archie.â They each raised their hand at their name, Oscar having dark sandy coloured hair, while Archieâs was longer than Chrisâ and Silver.
He was introduced to all those around, humans definitely came with more variety than wolves such as strange hair colours. He noticed he was by far the largest individual sat around. While his physique was on the small side for a wolf, he was by far one of the broadest. Wade would have taken up the full sofa if he were there⦠even Jaxson would have taken up most-
He stopped himself, he wasnât thinking about him. Heâd never see him ever again.
âSo, Chris, where you from?â one of the small males, Tristen, asked.
âOh, far from here, you wouldnât have heard of it.â
âYou donât sound that foreign.â
âSandy, you canât say that!â the male next to her admonished, squeezing her knee.
âWell, he doesnât!â
âYou from America? Amish? Swear I can hear a twang.â
âErr, yeah.â America was where most of the films were from, that was reasonable. he didnât know what Amish meant though. âWhereâs Stephan?â
âOh donât worry about him! He spiked your drink, arsehole.â
âSpiked?â
âYeah, Iâd guess roofies, heâs such a sleaze. You donât want nothing to do with him!â Oscar announced.
He guessed roofies was bad.
