The sound of people sucking in their breath could be heard. Sawyerâs expression changed. He looked at Charles in confusion. âEverything was fine.
Mr. Harris, what is the meaning of this?â
He retracted his long legs slowly and his gaze landed on Sophiaâs face. He smiled. âDidnât you say thereâs nothing to play with, Mr. Phillips? Donât you have something to play with now?â
Only the person who fell into the water knew how cold the water in the pool was. However, no one dared to make a sound. Who was Charles? The entire B City would shake if he stomped his foot.
The rich kidsâ in this place were all known as young masters while Charles was known as the president of his company, it was obvious he was not a trust fund baby who depends on the wealth of his family.
Even though the Phillipses was not an ordinary family, Sawyer did not dare to offend Charles. He glanced at Sophia who was being protected by Charles and he understood. âI see, sheâs Mr. Charlesâ person. Weâre being disrespectful.â
Charles did not deny it. He lowered his head and look at the alcohol on the table. He took one at random. âYou said everyoneâs just having fun. Just play as you wish. I crashed your party, so let me pay for these.â
âHow can I let you pay for all these, Mr. Harris?â
âItâs your birthday, so I should be paying for this. Have fun, Iâll come back in a bit.â After he said that, he grabbed Sophia and walked out without caring about Sawyerâs reaction. The jaws of the people behind him dropped open.
After the two of them left the rooftop, the woman in the water finally screamed out, âGet me out of the f*cking water!â
Everyone started having fun again. On the other hand, Sawyer stared at the empty bottles that were half cleared. His expression was grim.
Sophia was tugged into the lift by Charles by the shoulder. When the doors closed, she was thrown on the side like trash. Her leg was not working well so she held onto the wall of the lift subconsciously.
Charles looked at her and laughed sarcastically. âIf I was not there, what would you do? Were you going to strip in front of everyone? Hm?â
âI...â Before Charles came, she already had her answer. However, he came just in time. She stopped for a while and lowered her head. âIf you werenât there, I would have taken off my clothes, Mr. Harris.â
Charles frowned and said in an extremely cold voice, âMaybe that man was right. Sophia, youâre truly a wh*re. If I didnât appear, did you plan to seduce a trust fund baby to get you out of there? Hm?â
Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around!
ï¤Chapter 12 Take Off Your Clothes âYes.â She grabbed her own fingers and shivered slightly. âHowever, didnât you want to see that, Mr. Harris? A criminal who attempted murder who was abandoned by her family and colleagues and who was being walked over by everyone. Asking me to take off my clothes is only peanuts. My days will be like this in the future as well. Am I going to expect someone to save me again and again?â
When she said that, her eyes were red but she did not cry. They were a pair of familiar eyes, but there was a flash of devastating beauty in them.
Charles looked at her and he felt something stabbing his heart. It did not hurt but it did not feel good. âWhat did you say?â
She was pressing her luck. âAll of you said that Iâve ruined Leah, but in reality, she was the one who ruined me. You like her so youâre doing everything you can to regain her rights from me. What about me? What about my rights? My entire life was ruined because of her. I donât even want to live but Iâm afraid that youâll take action against my family. For me, your world is my hell.â
These were her heartfelt words.
Charles remembered her blank stares when she left prison that day. It was as if he remembered something. âIf you didnât run into me that day, what would you have done?â
She did not say anything.
The lights in the lift were dim. When they were shining on her, it looked like she would disappear at any time. Charles lifted his eyebrow and grabbed her thin wrist. He said angrily, âTell me!â
Sophia was in pain. She struggled for a while and failed to escape from his grip. She decided to just give up. âIf I didnât run into you, Iâd have killed myself! Are you happy?â
She was forced to tell him the secret she hid in her heart. Sophia felt like all the energy had been drained from her body. She collapsed against the wall lifelessly. The tears that she tried so hard to hold in fell down like rain.
