“Charles, I’m coming in...”

Leah was holding a cane while standing at the door. Her hand was still outstretched as if she was still opening the door. Clearly, she was rushing. It was as if she was trying to do something quickly so she forgot about her manners.

Charles came back to his senses and frowned. “Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be in physical therapy today?”

It was obvious that Leah had seen Sophia. Initially, she was started. Then, she averted her gaze and looked at Charles. She saw the opened button on his collar and his blood-stained lips. Even idiots would know what they were doing. Besides, she was not an idiot and she came prepared.

She lifted her brows and asked despite knowing the answers. “Charles? When did she get out of prison? Why are you with her?”

“Heh...” Charles did not say anything. On the contrary, he redid his buttons and asked while lowering his gaze. “Didn’t you already know? Audrey told you, right? If not, why would you come here in the middle of the night?”

“I...” Leah’s eyes were red and she looked pitiful. “I came because I know she’s in Dream Club. However, I didn’t know what you’re doing with her...”

She was unable to say it out loud. She bit her lips and she felt uneasy. “Charles, that’s Sophia. She wanted to kill me back then! Don’t you remember...”

When she heard this, Sophia frowned. She tidied up her clothes without a word and stood up. She started walking out of the room slowly.

“Excuse me.” She stood behind the two of them and spoke softly.

Leah lifted her head and looked at Sophia. She had a pained expression on her face. “Sophia, do you hate me so much? Was it not enough hurting me two years ago? Why are you still here in front of us after you got out of prison? What are you trying to do...”

Charles lifted his eyebrows when he saw Sophia’s expression changed. He interrupted Leah. “I was the one who asked her to come here.”

“Charles?” Leah was startled. She was in disbelief. “Why?”

Charles looked at Leah and chuckled coldly. “It seems like you and your brother love asking about who I hire as my maid and why. Why? Do I have to report myself to the Jones regarding who I hire?”

Sophia lifted her head and looked at Leah. This was the first time they met after two years. She inspected Leah. Aside from the cane in her hand, there was not much difference in Leah compared to two years ago. She looked like a weak and fragile little princess.

However, she was doing horribly. She smiled in self-mockery. Her eyes were clear. “Leah, when are you going to tell the truth about who harmed who two years ago?”

Chapter 14 Is Sophia White's Life Not Valuable?

“What?” Leah’s face became pale. She bit her lips and said in a sobbing tone, “Sophia, why are you still trying to hurt me? Why do you keep trying to force me into a corner? Why are you so cruel?”

Who was the one that was not apologetic? Sophia did not want to argue with her. No matter how much she spoke, she was still locked up for two years and sacrificed a leg. Those were all set in stone. Who would still believe her?

She tightened her uniform and shrugged nonchalantly. “Two years have passed. I don’t want to argue about who’s right and who’s wrong with you. I have work now. I’m going to leave the two of you alone now.”

After she said that, she moved around them and exited the room.

Charles looked at her back and there was an unknown emotion raging in his eyes.

Leah noticed his expression and uneasiness started to overwhelm her chest. She reached out to grab his arm. She tried to make herself look soft and innocent. “Charles, believe me. I’m only worried because I know she’s in Dream Club after she got out of prison. However, I have no other intentions.

It’s just that I’m scared because someone who hurt me before suddenly appeared again, that’s why I’m here...”

When Charles heard that, he knitted his eyebrows together. “What are you afraid of?”

She lifted her head and she looked like she was distressed. “I’m scared that she’ll put up an act again to lie to you and my brother. If I didn’t find out not only she was seducing my brother but she’s also seducing you that back then, she wouldn’t try to kill me with her car out of anger. “Did you say William is breaking up with Audrey? Because of Sophia?” Charles narrowed his eyes and his expression was grim.
