Sophia's eyebrows twitched. Before she could say anything, Clara held her face and said, "Sophia, I have never seen a seventy-year-old man sleeping with a twenty-year-old girl. Let me go with you!"
Sophia, "..."
"Whatâs there to see? What's so good about a dirty old man? Havenât you seen enough of mine?" Zachary raised his eyebrows and lifted Clara away from Sophia.
Clara's face flushed immediately.
Sophia, "..."
She coughed slightly and said, "Neither of those. It wonât be convenient for me to take you there, hence I won't be going with you anymore."
Clara was still trying to make a racket but Zachary cut her off. "Keep pestering Ms. White if you arenât afraid that you wonât be able to get out of bed tomorrow."
"You...!" Clara swelled up like a balloon, but after seeing his gaze, she withered fearfully. "Zachary, you, you, you, you, you, you, why are you behaving like a hoodlum..."
Her voice became softer and softer.
Beepâ
Zachary's phone vibrated, he glanced at the message, then put it away. "Thereâs a movie that has just been released a few days ago. The reviews are pretty good too. Should we go and watch it together?"
Sophia wanted to refuse at first, but she eventually agreed as she could not handle Clara's constant pestering and rolling on the ground screaming.
When they arrived at the cinema, she realized that Charles was there too. He clad in a suit and leather shoes sitting on a burgundy couch in front of the ticketing counter flipping through a document, looking relatively out of place compared to those around him.
"Why do you still want to come when youâre so busy?" Zachary walked over and patted Charles on the shoulder.
Charles put the document in his briefcase and glanced over his shoulder at Sophia with a cold look on his face, saying, "Let's go."
"Hey, hold up!" Zachary grabbed Charles from behind by the collar. "Arenât you going to buy me something, handsome? Are you going to go in just like that?"
Charles brushed his hand away. "Will it kill you to stop sounding so horny for a day?"
"It wonât kill me, but I'll feel uncomfortable all over." Zachary winked at Charles.
Charles, "..."
"Sorry Clara, I donât feel so well," Sophia said to Clara with a frown. Before Clara could answer, she turned around and left.
She could not bring herself to sit with Charles and watch a movie with him like nothing had happened.
Every time she saw him, she was reminded of the brutal look on his face when he broke her leg with a cold look on his face. He had never once let her goânot even in her dreams!
"Hey, Sophiaâ" Clara called out to her with a scrunched up face, but the person ahead did not even look back.
Zachary gloated at the sight of this. "I was right, wasnât I, Charles? I told you to go easy on her but you refused to listen!"
"Recently, Cloud Dream Law Firm offered me a partnership. I will give serious consideration to it," Charles said.
The smile hanging on Zachary's mouth vanished without a trace. "Thatâs not what brothers do!!!"
Charles ignored him and chased after Sophia with his briefcase.
"Zachary!!!" After looking listless for a minute, Clara leaped up and placed her hand on her hips, asking, "Did you scare Sophia away because you sounded too much like a hoodlum today?"
Zachary, "..."
He was truly worried about their children's IQ in the future.
When Charles arrived at the elevator, Sophia had already entered the elevator. The doors were closing, leaving only a gap the size of an adult's finger.
Seeing the indifferent look on Sophiaâs face, he pulled the elevator door apart without the slightest hesitation and walked in amidst the surprised and horrified gazes of everyone in the elevator.
Sophia glanced at him, frowned, and shifted backward.
Dingâ
Everyone filed out when the elevator opened.
Charles was in front of Sophia. He stepped out of the elevator first and stood by the elevator door.
Just as she was trying to leave the elevator quickly, he grabbed her hand and exerted some strength, trapping her in his arms. "I remember that you loved watching movies."
For him, watching movies was simply a waste of time. Back then, she begged him countless times but he only accompanied her to the movies once.
Not only that, he had even left halfway.
"I don't feel well. I want to go back and rest." Sophia pushed him hard, standing half a meter away from him wearing an undisguised look of disgust in her eyes.
She had pressed on the unhealed wound on his lower abdomen again in order to break free of Charles' hold. He frowned almost imperceptibly. "I will take you to the hospital."
"No thanks." Sophia snorted coldly and looked at him indifferently. "I will not feel well as long as I'm with you and everything becomes dull and unexciting. Do you understand what Iâm saying?"
Charlesâ fingers that were hanging limply by the side of his body began tapping gently on the seam of his trousers. His pupils darkened.
"Charles, youâre here to watch a movie too?" Leah maneuvered her wheelchair and rolled over. Surprise was written all over her face. "What a coincidence."
Audrey stood behind the wheelchair, looking sullenly at the woman whom her fiancé could never stop thinking of.
Sophia pursed her lips, frowned, and glanced at Leah and Audrey. Not wanting to get entangled with them, she turned around and left straight away.
"Audrey, you said that you wanted to talk to Sophia, right?" Leah said softly, "Hurry up and go. Who knows whenâs the next time youâll see her again."
Audrey hummed in reply with a sullen look on her face and gave her the movie ticket. "Just in time. Mr. Harris can watch the movie with you. Iâll go and talk to Sophia."
She was planning to leave as soon as she said that.
Charles moved in just a few steps and barred her way. "I don't have time. You should watch the movie with Leah, Ms. Sommer."
"Iâm not dying to watch this movie, really. You can go ahead if you want to, Audrey." Leah's voice was extremely soft. Her voice and tone were soothing to hear.
Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around!
ï¤Chapter 194 Looks like I got the wrong idea Audrey said, "Thanks for understanding, Leah. I will watch the movie with you another day."
She was speaking much faster than usual, her countenance was grim. She tried to step out while she spoke but Charles barred her way once again.
"What is the meaning of this, Mr. Harris?" Audrey looked up. Her tone sounded particularly harsh.
Charles put on a mild countenance. "Why are you in such a hurry to chase after Sophia, Ms. Sommer? What do you want to say to her?"
"This is between us women. It wonât be appropriate to tell you, Mr. Harris." Audrey looked livid. "Please step aside, Mr. Harris."
Charles did not budge. He pursed his lips. "You want to talk to Sophia about Mr. Jones?"
"So what if I am?" Seeing that Sophia had gotten into a cab and left, Audrey gnashed her teeth. "When did you start getting so nosy, Mr. Harris?!"
Charles lowered his head to look at her. âIâm minding my girlfriendâs business and you think Iâm being nosy, Ms. Sommer?"
"Girlfriend?!" Audrey asked, her expression changed as she looked at Leah subconsciously.
Leah's smile froze on her face, tightening her hand that was holding onto the wheelchairâs armrest. Blood completely drained from her face.
"Ms. Sommer, you can save yourself the trouble if you want to talk to Sophia about Mr. Jones." Charles said, "It is plain wishful thinking on Mr. Jonesâ
part. Sophia doesn't like him and even hates him a little."
"If you canât secure your fiancé's heart, then that just means that youâre incapable. This has nothing to do with my girlfriend. If you must blame her, then blame her for being too attractive. Itâs not her fault for having too many suitors."
