Chapter 205

“Aunty asked you to go over just to pass this to you?” Sophia White took over the two bags and asked with her eyes lowered.

Victor Hemingway sat on the chair while placing her leg, poked full of needles like a porcupine, onto his leg. He rotated the needles with a serious expression. “Yup. She was asking about a topic I was researching recently as well, which took up some time.”

Sophia White held on to the two bags in her hands with a subtly cold expression.

The hospital director had just gotten Dr. Hemingway to meet her and Master Harris paid a visit. Such a coincidence with the timing!

Victor Hemingway started removing the needles after a while and said, “I’m not on duty today. Let me see you home.”

“Thank you, Dr. Hemingway,” Bamboo Virtues Village does not allow taxis to enter. It was twenty minutes less of walking if she took Dr. Hemingway’s car back.

Victor Hemingway drove Sophia White back to Bamboo Virtues Village.

“If Dr. Hemingway is willing, why don’t you come in for a while,” Sophia White said as she got out of the car.

Victor Hemingway did not reject her. He parked the car and removed the keys, following behind her into the villa. “Miss White, you look like you’re in a good mood after leaving the hospital.”

“Was it that obvious?” Sophia White asked.

Victor Hemingway raised an eyebrow slightly. “Miss White, do you think there is a big difference between a pomegranate and a pomegranate with a smiling crack?”

“Dr. Hemingway, you have a unique way of illustrating things. It’s the first time I’ve heard someone describe things this way,” they walked into the dining room together and Sophia White got Victor Hemingway to take a seat.

“Does Dr. Hemingway prefer tea or coffee?”

Victor Hemingway smiled. “I’ll take tea. Coffee is not great for your health.”

“Okay, please wait a moment, Dr. Hemingway,” Just as Sophia White prepared to make some tea, she suddenly remembered something. She had no idea if tea was available here. Even if there was, she had no idea where it was kept.

Victor Hemingway watched as Sophia White hesitated where she was. He glanced around the villa, which did not seem lived in. “I’m sorry, Miss White, I suddenly remembered that I have a slight flu. I think it’s better for me to just have some plain water.”

“Okay, let me boil some water. Please do wait a while, Dr. Hemingway,” Sophia White gave him an embarrassed smile as she turned to walk into the kitchen, but realized that Charles Harris was in the kitchen as well. She wondered how long he had been standing there.

He did not have his suit coat on, nor was there a tie on him. Two buttons had been released on his black shirt, revealing his mesmerizing collarbone.

There was also a thick aroma of alcohol on him while a bowl of soup to cure his hangover was placed on the counter behind him.

Sophia White glanced briefly at him as the smile disappeared from her face. She walked past him to get the kettle.

Charles Harris followed behind her, step-by-step along with hers. There was a deep look in his eyes. “You left the hotel’s restaurant at one thirty-five.

It’s now three forty-eight.”

“It’s been more than two hours. It's enough time to get a room with someone else out there,” Sophia White turned the kettle on and turned around.

She did not expect him to be at such a close distance. Their bodies were almost touching each other.

Charles Harris placed both his hands on the counter behind her, trapping her between them. “I’m not doubting you. I just don’t like it when you are alone with another man.”

They were very close. When he spoke, he breathed alcohol onto Sophia White’s face. She wanted to back away and create a distance between them, but the counter was behind her and there was no way for her to make a retreat.

“That woman had nothing to do with me, don’t misunderstand the situation,” Charles Harris lowered his head to look at her. It made his heart beat faster in his chest when he saw his own figure fill her eyes.

There was still the pungent smell of women’s perfume on him. Sophia White frowned. “Your relationship with other women has nothing to do with me.”

She did not like the feeling of almost being held in his arms. She bent backward slightly, trying her best to create some distance between them.

However, the more she bent backward, the more he followed suit by moving forward. In the end, she was almost lying down on the counter with him pressing onto her body. Her soft breasts and his solid chest were pushed together in perfect contour without a gap.

It was intimate, gentle.

“If you didn’t care, why would you be angry about it then?” Charles Harris’ hand was holding on to the back of her waist. His gaze fell on her lips as his throat moved in a slight gulp. It felt a little unfamiliar where his and her skin touched.

He had suffered numerous regrets when it came to her. He regretted not having her when she had given herself to him the last few times.

“I wasn’t angry. You’ve gotten it wrong,” his gaze was making Sophia White feel uncomfortable. She turned her head away and frowned, trying to push him away with both her hands against his body.

However, Charles Harris did not move at all. Instead, he grabbed her chin with his hand and turned her face towards himself, planting a kiss on her lips.

Sophia White reactively held her breath with a stunned look in her eyes, “Char...”

The moment she opened her mouth, he took the liberty to take things further by pushing her mouth open and moved in deeper. She tried retreating, but he kept coming forward, claiming the territory that was supposed to be hers, forcing her to accept his kiss.

The counter behind Sophia White was ice-cold, but in front of her was his fiery, strong body. She had no way of backing off. Her tongue was sucked numb by him while her lips were left with a burning sting.

The humming kettle next to her ear made the situation extra frustrating.

The rage in her pulsed within her bloodstream. Sophia White gripped right onto his shirt and viciously bit down, but he suddenly backed off and she ended up biting her own tongue. She beaded with cold sweat from the pain.

“Silly as usual,” there was laughter in Charles Harris’ eyes. He pulled his tucked-in shirt out from his pants, as if trying to hide something.

Sophia White frowned as she glanced between his legs, her lips pressed tight as she turned off the gas.

As the sound of Charles Harris’ footsteps came nearer, the look on Sophia White’s face was filled with rage. “Charles Harris, if you dare do anything stupid, I’ll pour this kettle of water onto you!”

Charles Harris walked towards her and held out a hand to get hold of the kettle. “If I wanted to do something stupid, would I wait until now? Let go of the kettle.”

Sophia White frowned deeper, but did not move.

“Do you know where the tea is?” Charles Harris asked her as he lowered his eyes to look at her.

Sophia White hesitated as she let go.

“Wait in the living room,” Charles Harris took over the kettle and placed it on the counter. He walked towards the cupboard next to the fridge and opened it, taking out a box of tea.

Sophia White glanced at him and rubbed her lips vigorously a few times before heading to the living room.

Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around!

Chapter 204 It’s Easy To Treat A Physical Wound, But Difficult To Treat An Emotional One Vincent Hemingway lifted his head to look at her. His gaze paused at her red, swollen lips.

“... Allergies,” Sophia White rubbed her lower lips again and sat on the sofa opposite Vincent Heming way. He gave her another glance before looking away, but the warmth that had remained on her lips made her cheeks burn uncomfortably.

She stood up. “I’ll cut some fruits.”

“The fruits are done. Sit down,” a big, warm hand placed itself on her shoulder as it pushed her down.

Sophia White sat back onto the sofa and raised her head as she saw Charles Harris bend over to place a plate of fruits onto the table. He turned and returned to the kitchen. Not long after, he came out again holding a tray. There was a kettle and a few teacups on it.

“Dr. Hemingway, have a taste of this tea,” Charles Harris poured out a cup and pushed it towards Victor Hemingway.
