âI heard Master Lewis is marrying a woman one or two years younger than Leah. Oh my, Iâd never expected Master Lewis to still be that active when he is up there in years!â
âHow would Mr. Jones refer to Miss Tiffany Lawrence after the wedding today? Grandma? How would anyone be able to refer to someone a few years younger than them as grandma?â
âMaster Lewis is indeed a man of literature. His ways are different from us commoners! Well done, well done!â
âMr. Lewis, marriage is a good thing. Why are you putting up such an unhappy look on your face?â
âMrs. Jones, let me just say that you shouldnât feel unhappy. You should focus on getting Master Lewis some kidney supplements. If something were to happen to his health while on his nightly duties, it would end up becoming a joke.â
The more she listened to these comments, the worse Mrs. Jonesâ face looked. She finally could not take it and glared angrily as she rushed towards the guest dripping with sarcastic words, roaring, âCareful with those words coming out from your mouth. Donât think I have no idea whatâs going on with the Johnson family!â
âMum...â Leah Jones turned her wheelchair around to get in front of her mum, gently pulling her as she called out.
However, Mrs. Jones was so angry, she pushed her daughter to the side and raised her voice higher, âYouâre just an illegitimate child from the Johnson family, whatâs there to be so proud about?!â
Leah Jones frowned subtly and rubbed gently between her eyebrows. A look of fatigue and disgust flashed across her eyes.
An embarrassed look crossed Shawn Johnsonâs face when he heard this, and a look of viciousness appeared in his cunning eyes. âThe old man is getting up there with age, and heâs still capable of seducing a woman younger than his granddaughter. As for his daughter, well, getting scandalous with another man at an age when sheâs supposed to take care of her own family. Looks like nothing good comes out from this family!!!â
Mrs. Jones ignored Leah Jonesâ attempt to pull her back and roared with a bright, red face amidst the sarcastic and demeaning looks of the guests, âWhat nonsense are you spouting?! Nothing is going on between me and Alan Harris, stop your malicious words!â
Alan Harris was the name of Mr. Harris.
âWhy are you acting so nervous if I hadnât struck a nerve? Arenât you thick-skinned to pretend youâre innocent when youâve been a slut!â Shawn Johnson sneered as he insulted her.
The guests seated in the main hall looked toward the entrance, whispering amongst themselves in different groups.
The smile stiffened on Leah Jonesâ face. She tried her best to repress the anger within her, but lips refused to give a wider smile. âMum, you should head in first.â
âI...â Mrs. Jones looked enraged.
She had just begun to say something when she was interrupted by Leah Jonesâ unhappy face. âYouâre not feeling well. Just get in there to have a rest. Donât exhaust yourself.â
âWell, now the old and the young are all capable enough to order me around!â Mrs. Jones complained with a livid expression as she continued grumbling away while entering the main hall.
Leah Jones took a deep breath and smiled at Shawn Johnson. âMy mum has always been one to say what is on her mind. Please donât take it to heart, Mr. Johnson.â
âIâll relent on your behalf since youâve already spoken up, Leah,â Shawn Johnsonâs gaze was stuck on her as he looked her up and down.
Leah Jones replied in a gentle voice, as if she had not noticed his lecherous gaze, âThank you for your understanding, Mr. Johnson. Although, youâve insulted my mother and grandfather in front of so many guests today. What should we do about that?â
Shawn Johnson tutted and narrowed his eyes as he said condescendingly, âMaster Lewis is marrying a twenty-year-old lady from the club and itâs because he got her pregnant. Isnât that considered a disrespectful act for a man his age?â
âAs for your mother, heh, who doesnât damn well know whatâs going on between her and that gentleman from the Harris family? If you donât believe me, just grab one or two people from any seat in there and ask if they are aware of it!â
Leah Jones smiled but the smile did not reach her eyes. âThe public, such as people like you, Mr. Johnson, mostly have something to say about what happened to my grandfather.â
âTo me, however, he is marrying a woman he likes without caring about the opinions of commoners. This is courage that should be admired. Itâs much better than some of those who are used to living a poor life, but when they suddenly strike it rich by becoming second-generation wealth inheritors, they get so excited about paying prostitutes a visit that they get caught by the police on the spot. What do you think about this, Mr. Johnson?â
Shawn Johnson turned bright red, as if someone was strangling him. He was so angry, he could not say a word.
âSince youâve received an invitation to attend the wedding, Iâd like to trouble Mr. Johnson to be careful with your words and be a guest with basic etiquettes. Otherwise, itâd be terrible if your father found out what happened at the wedding and removed you from your post of company director out of anger. Am I right?â
There was a light smile on Leah Jonesâ face as she raised her head to look at him, acting as if she was having a chat with a friend.
Shawn Johnsonâs face turned red and green, then became pale. He clenched his teeth. âYou...â
âWhat do you think?â Leah Jones interrupted him with a smile.
She took a look behind him. âThe other Mr. Johnson is here.â
Shawn Johnson looked behind him as well. His expression changed for the worse when he saw Zachary Johnson with Clara Robertson hanging onto his arm.
If there was a need to describe the situation, it was probably like an enraged dog coming face-to-face with a cat, but could not win the fight, and all it could do was leave unwillingly with its tail between its legs.
Zachary Johnson smiled as he came over, handing a gift to Leah Jones. âCongratulations to Master Lewis on his big day! Congratulations to Miss Jones as well. Youâll be getting a one-year-old uncle or aunty soon!â
The smile on Leah Jonesâ face stiffened as she nodded without saying a word. She passed the gift to an employee at the side, who was in charge of registering guestsâ gifts.
Clara Robertson blinked as her doll-face was filled with excitement. âWow, this truly calls for a congratulations! By right, the sperm quality gets worse with age. Itâs rare to find someone as gifted as Master Lewis!â
It was eerily silent as no one continued the conversation.
Clara Robertson continued chatting on her own as she nodded to herself. âYouâve actually met with such a rare occurrence and should truly be congratulated, hmm, and also feel happy about it!â
Leah Jones smiled and changed the conversation. âItâs unexpected to see Miss Robertson coming here with Mr. Johnson. Iâve always thought youâd attend the wedding with Mr. Robertson.â
Clara Robertsonâs eyes turned wide. âMy dad is always busy. He most definitely wonât be able to attend, which is why Iâm here! Is it that unexpected to see me here with my mentor cum boyfriend? Itâd be easy to guess even if you think using your toes!â
Zachary Johnson coughed, trying to hint to his girlfriend not to cross the line.
âMiss Robertson is truly a pure romantic at heart,â Leah Jones said gently.

ï¤Chapter 207 Give Me Back My Necklace Clara Robertson looked coy and shy as she nuzzled into Zachary Johnsonâs arms. âThank you for the compliment. Are you envious of me? Although, you shouldnât feel envious about this sort of thing!â
âThere are still many guests I need to attend to. Letâs chat again someday. Why donât Mr. Johnson and Miss Robertson take your seat inside,â Leah Jones smiled and said softly.
Clara Robertson smiled widely and waved at her. âOkay, okay! Sophia will be coming later. Make sure to take good care of her. Weâll go in now!â
She did not notice the slightly astonished look on Leah Jonesâ face as she said this, and skipped into the hall while pulling Zachary Johnson along.
