Chapter 57 of 493

Chapter 60

“It’s alright, it doesn’t hurt.” Sophia looked at Nicole’s red eyes and sighed internally. She was most afraid of a crying woman.

“How can it not hurt?” Megan walked to the front of the bed and told Nicole, “When I came, I heard some colleagues saying that Sophia was also hurt to the point she couldn’t walk. She had to be held by the manager and was sent to the hospital by the security guard.”

Sterling’s eyes widened as he listened, his handsome face reddening in anger. His eyes were filled with heartache.

Nicole did not say a word, but her tears trickled down, dampening the back of Sophia’s hands.

“It only hurt that moment. It doesn’t hurt now anymore.” Sophia gave Megan a look.

Megan pretended not to see it and spilled everything. “They even told me that Sophia’s knees were almost completely red with tens of large blisters squeezing together. The sight made their scalps tingle...”

“That’s enough, say no more.” Sophia frowned and cut her off.

Megan smiled sheepishly.

Nicole wiped her tears. Her voice was shaking. “Is what she’s saying all true?”

“It’s just hearsay. As it spread, the narrative changed. How can it be so exaggerated?” Sophia said before Megan could.

Patter.

Just at this moment, the doctor walked in. “What the lady said just now isn’t exaggerated at all. If you hadn’t torn your skirt beforehand, the blisters would’ve stuck to your clothes. You would’ve suffered more.”

The doctor wiped the back of Sophia’s hands with an alcoholic swab, injected a needle, and gave her an infusion.

Sterling quietly stood aside with red eyes. A moment later, he jerked off his jacket and threw it onto the floor violently. “F*ck it!”

After that, he exited aggressively, slamming the door shut.

“Ster!” Sophia was afraid Sterling would act impulsively and wanted to chase after him to stop him.

The doctor and Nicole held her down at the same time.

“You haven’t gotten the infusion. Don’t you want your leg anymore?” The doctor advised strictly.

Sophia was anxious but was being held back by two people. She could not get up even if she wanted to.

“You guys just let me go first. It’ll be the same if I come back later to get infused!”

“I’ll go find your brother. You just stay here obediently and get the infusion!” Nicole panicked. Without waiting for an answer, she told Megan who was standing aside in a trance. “Miss, please take care of Soph for a while. Don’t let her go out. I’ll be back soon.”

“Ah? Oh, alright!” Megan responded repeatedly and helped the doctor hold onto Sophia.

Sophia struggled hard for a long time. Other than making the doctor inject the needle incorrectly a few times, there was no use. She frowned.

“Megan, Doctor, let go of me. I promise I’ll come back soon for the infusion!”

“Your sister-in-law already went after your brother, just stay behind for the infusion,” Megan said while avoiding her gaze.

Sophia licked her dried lips and said bitterly, “You don’t understand.”

Ster probably went to Dream Club to ask for trouble. If Charles Harris knew about it, he would not let him off the hook.

Megan remained quiet but did not loosen her grip.

“I understand, but if you toss around blindly again, you can say goodbye to your leg.” The doctor still had many patients, but Sophia had been tossing around for half a day. He was angry at this moment.

It had almost been ten minutes since Sterling ran out of the door. Sophia frowned harder. “Megan, if you don’t listen to me now, aren’t you afraid that after I go back to the Whites, I’ll give you a hard time?”

“M-maybe you won’t be able to return.” Megan’s voice got softer. “Even if you go back, your sister-in-law won’t let you give me a hard time... right?”

Sophia pursed her lips and gave up struggling. It was just that she suddenly felt extremely lonely.

Her family and friends did not want her. Even Megan whom she was closest to was also someone who bowed down to power and reality.

Nicole caught up all the way to the hospital entrance but was a little late. When she reached the entrance, Sterling just started his car and was already gone.

She quickly called for a cab and informed the driver, “Please follow the Ferrari in front.”

The driver looked at her oddly and did not move. He was afraid that she was some sort of criminal.

“That is my husband’s car. I just saw him go into his car with his arms around a lady, and I don’t know where he’s going.” Nicole looked anxious. Plus, her red eyes made her look extra pitiful.

“Don’t worry!” The driver uncle was a kind-hearted person. “I’ll follow that car right away. I definitely won’t lose it!”

The Ferrari and the cab both stopped at Dream Club’s entrance. Nicole quickly gave the driver a hundred dollars and quickly chased after Sterling.

“There’s no lady in the car. Is she seeing things?” the driver whispered as he drove off.

Nicole wore heels and could not catch up to Sterling. “Sterling, you... You wait... for me!”

She got too exhausted from running. She gave up her image and put her hands on her knees, gasping for breath.

Bang!

Crash!

Sterling ignored her. As soon as he entered the club, he violently knocked down two vases onto the floor in the great hall.

“Mr. White, you...” The staff came over, attempting to ask Sterling what was the matter.

However, Sterling did not give him a chance. He kicked the centipede tongavine from the rack right away and roared with red eyes, “Where is your manager? Call her out!”

The centipede tongavine rolled on the floor, its vase in pieces. The soil was scattered all over, instantly turning the majestic great hall into a mess.

There were many regulars who frequented the club and many knew Sterling White. They wanted to go over and persuade him so that the owner of the club, Charles Harris, would be grateful to them.

However, Sterling did not acknowledge everyone. Every time he said a word, he would smash something, rampaging like a mad cow.

Someone tried to be a smart*ss and approached Sterling to advise, “Look at your sister who offended Mr. Harris terribly, Mr. White. If you don’t want to end up like her, it’s better to quickly think of how to apologize to Mr. Harris. Say you are drunk, even crazily drunk is okay... Ah!”

Sterling hit his nose with his fist, the veins in his neck popping out. “You gotta know yourself better first. Do you deserve to mention my sister?”

The person held his nose while wailing. The blood flowed from between the gaps of his fingers, but he dared not to utter another sentence. He left crestfallenly.

Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around!

Chapter 59 A Man's Heart is Like a Needle Under the Sea “Get your manager out!” Rage and guilt were crashing within Sterling’s chest. They were about to tear his heart apart.

Nicole wanted to stop him, but when she saw him at that moment, she felt as if she had lost her voice. She just stood quietly by his side, eyes full of contemplation.

“Mr. Harris and Ms. Jones are around. Mr. White, you ought to lower down your voice,” the staff carefully said.

“Bullsh*t, you think I’m afraid of them?!” A waiter passed by with the dining cart. Sterling rushed over, grabbed a stack of plates, and slammed them all to the ground. “Just nice that Charles Harris and Leah Jones are around. Tell me to come down together!”

A crowd gathered around, but no one made a sound.
