Chapter 63

"What report? You got it wrong! I just drank too much and now my head hurts. I will sleep for a while. Don't call me!" Sterling smiled happily and said a few words in a hurry. Not giving Sophie a chance to ask questions, he hung up.

Sophia called again, but no one answered.

She pursed her lips, got out of bed, and put on her shoes. She wanted to go out without even changing her medical clothes.

She knew that her brother had acted impulsively without considering the consequences. She just did not know what he did.

"Are you going out?" Megan stood up and stopped in front of her. "Your sister-in-law said that you should have a good rest."

Sophia frowned. "Get out of the way."

"Your leg was injured before, and now you’re scalded. What if the inflammation causes cell necrosis and your leg becomes completely disabled?"

Megan did not know anything about medicine and she did not know what she was saying. She just wanted to stop Sophia.

Sophia frowned more tightly. "I’m clear about my legs. Get out of the way."

After a pause, she added. "I know you don't want to offend my sister-in-law. You can tell her that I rushed out by force. She is not an unreasonable person."

Megan glanced at her face, hesitated, and stepped aside. "You said it yourself."

Sophia hummed carelessly and ran away from her.

“Sophia, wait for me. I'll go with you!" Megan thought for a moment and quickly followed.

Sophia did not stop and ran all the way to the front of the elevator. She pressed for all four elevators and waited with her head down.

Ding!

The elevator opened.

She raised her head and was just about to enter when she saw the people in the elevator.

In the elevator, Charles was standing behind Leah’s wheelchair in a silver-gray suit. He looked noble and handsome. At this moment, he was looking down at the wound on the back of Leah's hand intently.

Megan was standing beside Sophia and was stunned to see this.

"Why are you rushing out?" Leah's eyes fell on her leg as she said anxiously, "Your leg is burned. It is better to rest in bed."

Charles raised his eyes, his gaze pausing on Sophia's leg. He quickly moved away.

"My brother caused the injury on the back of your hand?" Sophia asked, licking her dry lips. She was looking at the wound on the back of Leah's hand.

Her brother had been in the police station for so long, so he must have gotten into big trouble. Apart from provoking Charles and Leah, she really could not think of any other reasons.

Leah nodded lightly, her pretty facial features slightly bitter. "Ster said that this is an eye for an eye. He also said that I must have splashed you on purpose. He didn't believe me no matter how I explained it."

Megan's eyes were erratic. She did not know where to look.

“Unless... What’ll it take for you to let it go?” Sophia seem to stutter for a while as she swallowed the words “Unless this was intentional’ back down.

Charles looked at the piece of gauze bulging on Sophia's leg, and a dark light flashed across his eyes. He was a little irritated.

"I said several times to reconcile privately, but Ster told me that I... The scheming b*tch was pretending and refused to accept my kindness. I really couldn’t help it." Leah sighed helplessly.

Hearing this, Megan, who had been silent for a long time, frowned and said, "This is Mr. White's fault. Ms. Jones didn't even care about him, he still..."

Sophia pressed her lips tightly and clenched her fists.

"Ms. Jones, your hands are burned. Let the doctor take care of it. If it leaves a scar because of this, it will be bad." Megan stared at the blisters on the back of Leah's hand.

Leah bit her lip, her eyebrows filled with bitterness. "I don't mind having scars or anything, but I feel uncomfortable getting misunderstood by Sterling.”

The corner of Charles' lips made a sarcastic arc but he said nothing.

"About you “accidentally’ scalding me, I will explain it to my brother. Can you forgive my brother?" Sophie bowed her head.

"Don't say so. I don’t blame Ster. I just feel uncomfortable in my heart. We have known each other for so many years, but I only found out that my image in his heart is this bad." Leah sighed.

Sophie suppressed the disgust in her heart and said lightly, "My brother doesn't speak nicely. Ms. Jones, forgive me. In fact, he often tells me to learn from you."

Her brother always asked her to be as gentle as Leah, saying that men preferred women like her. However, that was all two years ago.

"But I'm also very happy. Ster stuck out for you. Your brother and sister relationship is still as good as before." Leah curled her lips, seemingly really happy for her. “I knew that Uncle James would be reluctant to let you sever ties with the Whites. I finally don’t have to feel so guilty."

"!" Sophia's pupils shrank, and she subconsciously looked at Charles. Her body was trembling.

Two years ago, she was only able to save herself after the Whites broke off relations with her.

Charles twitched his lips. "I almost forgot about buying walnuts for you. Fortunately, you reminded me today."

"I’ve asked my family to buy them. Sorry to have bothered you, Charles," Leah curled her lips and said gently.

Charles chuckled lightly. It was hard to tell whether it was from happiness or anger. "That's right, based on how much you use your brain, you should eat more walnuts to nourish your brain.”

Leah stiffened for a while, smiled, and said nothing.

Megan stood by, trying to reduce her sense of existence.

She just felt that the current atmosphere was very subtle. It seemed that Mr. Harries and Ms. Jones did not have as good a relationship as the rumors said.

"Mr. White has already severed his relationship with me." Sophia raised her head slightly and looked at Charles' eyes. Her voice was mixed with pleading. "You also saw it with your own eyes at Auntie's birthday party that day."

She swallowed her saliva and said with difficulty, "Mr. White and Madam White think I am shameful and haven't seen me since I was released from prison. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have to go to my aunt’s birthday banquet just to see Madam White."

"Smart aleck." Charles glanced at her sideways, his voice very soft.

Sophia stood there blankly. Did he not intend to embarrass her with this matter?

Before she could ask anything, Charles had already pushed Leah away.

Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around!

Chapter 62 Then Don't Agree to be Engaged to Sophia After they left, Megan leaned forward to Sophia and said, "Look, Ms. Jones said she doesn't blame Mr. White. Mr. Harris didn’t say anything, so Mr.

White must be fine. You should go back to the ward and rest. Don’t worry about it. ."

She was going to take Sophia's arm.

Sophia seemed to take a step back inadvertently, avoiding her touch. "It's getting late, you can go back first."

“Then I’ll come see you tomorrow,” Megan’s hands caught the air instead as she smiled.

Sophia entered the elevator without turning back and pressed the button to close the door. As the elevator doors were just about to close, her voice softly echoed from the inside, “It’s alright, you don’t have to. Thanks.”

Megan watched the elevator door close, her eyes gloomy.

After thinking of something, she made a fist as a gesture to cheer herself up. Then, she went into another elevator.
