MERCY'S POV
Have you been in a situation where you don't know what to do or think. You don't know maybe you should smile , or laugh it off , or frown or glare or have a moody face on . Have you?!
Okay the reason for asking this question is because I am also in that situation right now.
Hakeem is standing right behind me with that his emotionless face and with what he said , I was so confused.
But why is he even here?
Is Trisha moving in today and he's helping her or is there something wrong , okay let me think positively .
I faked a smile, that's if you can call it a smile and asked him what I've been asking myself ,
"What are you doing here?"
And guess what that annoying handsome boy did , he just walked inside . Was I not standing in front of him , and he just walked in.
Disadvantages of being slim , I turned to the front and entered inside the compound too.
I looked around and Trisha's car was not even parked only the addition of a new car , Hakeem's own.
Seriously, what's happening?
I looked at the said boy , and he was wearing an Ankara designed shorts with a black T-shirt on it and he was rocking the look.
He's soft curly hair wasn't obviously combed but it even added to his handsomeness , okay so why am I staring at a guy after just coming back from a date with another guy.
I sighed and walked faster , he was standing, leaning beside his car and when I got to his front , he raised his hands up , he's probably scared of my glare too.
"Is Trisha here?" I asked him this time , with my glare warning him to better answer. What will I even do if he doesn't.
"She said she'll send you a text since you weren't picking your calls." He said back with that his smooth voice.
I cleared my throat as I opened my bag and brought out my phone. I unlocked it and three missed calls from Trisha was quickly notified on the screen.
I switched on my data and a message from Trisha caught my eyes , I opened it and it was a vn. How serious could the matter be or wait how long that she had to do voice note.
I pressed the play button,
"Uhm... Mercy hey ... I have been dialing your number but you didn't pick . So I'm really sorry to say that there has been a change of plans. I called my dad this morning that I will be moving back but he said he has rented it out to another person. I can't believe it sef. don't be angry ooo... The person is Keem. I'll talk to my dad okay? But I think he's paying rent sef , don't worry.Please don't be angry. " She said .
What the hell is she talking about ?
Hakeem is my roommate now , abi what did she say. I looked at him and he was looking a little bit fazed , was my glare that hard.
Ahhh , a boy roommate and not just a boy , Hakeem for that matter.
"Why?" I asked cause I don't even understand what's going on.
I looked at him waiting for a reply as he just sighed and rubbed his hands across his hair,
"I wasn't comfortable living there with them. Eniola has moved out and I was the only single person and their Wahala is too much. So I planned on moving out and the agents got me this place , I came to check and I realized it was here so I called uncle and he said I can stay here. For free . So that's why." He said with a sheepish smile , and then he added
"It'll be fun . Trust me." After that he started laughing , mumu boy... Which kind fun.
How will I cope with a boy as my roommate, Hakeem ooo . I won't be able to wear just my underwear around the house or only my baggy tops which I liked wearing cause of the heat.
Ahhh... This Is not good , I wasn't expecting this . But let me look at the bright side ,
I will have a roommate and unfortunately he's Hakeem , and he's a guy so if any theif or armed robbers come like Idara said he will be there , okay that's the only thing .
I sighed and rubbed my forehead . I turned and walked to the direction of the staircase instead of Deborah's apartment where I was planning to go earlier on .
I felt him walking behind me , when I reached the door I opened it and well nothing out of the ordinary.
"Hope you didn't enter my room?" I asked as I dropped my bag on the chair and walked to the kitchen.
He should better not oo , my room is a disaster right now , I was looking for the perfect outfit yesterday night and later turned the whole closet upside down.
I opened the fridge and brought out a bottle water , I had to rehydrate myself with. this situation.
"I didn't. I packed my load to Trisha's former room. But I took a glimpse cause I got confused and ......" I cut him off with my cough.
I was literally choking on the water I just drank , I don't want to die now oo , my mummy still needs me.
He slowly patted my back and after five minutes or so I finally calmed down.
"Calm down." He said chuckling.
"Why did you enter my room?" I asked wrapping my arms around my chest.
He shifted back after this gesture and leaned on the counter still looking at me with that yeye smile.
"I told you I was confused , so I had to check ." He replied.
"God.. why choose here , you can't have a female as a roommate na." I said sulking as I walked to the sitting room and he had to follow me again.
We sat on the couch, he was sitted across me "we'll cope." He simply said back giving me the urge to slap his cute smile away.
How will we cope , to cope we'll have to set some rules , yes we need that.
"There will be rules." I said with a smile on my face for the first time since I saw him.
"Okay ? So what's the first one?" He asked ,
"Should we get a paper or sticky note so you won't forget the rules." I said making him chuckle,
"Why only me , you too can forget." He said making me hiss as I picked out a sticky notes and pen from the center table .
"Okay rule number one ; we don't enter each other's room." I said and wrote it on the sticky note.
"I'm cool with that ." He replied resting his back on the chair,
"So what do you want for rule two?" I asked ,
"There should be cleaning shifts , like I take care of the house from Wednesday to Saturday and you from Sunday to Wednesday."
I nodded and wrote it down .
"What else?" I asked ,
"I don't know oo." He said back.
"We'll add as we continue to stay together. " I said standing up and walking to the kitchen.
I placed the sticky note on the fridge and walked to my room.
Then remembering that I had to take a shower , I walked out again. This time picking the pajamas I'll wear to sleep , see why I don't want a boy as a roommate.
I entered the bathroom and locked the door immediately. After everything I quickly dried my body and wore the SpongeBob pajamas , which was a top and long trousers.
I only wear this if the mosquito is too much and now I have to wear it cause of him.

"Picture perfect you don't need no filter , gorgeous make drop dead you're a killer.." I sang along with Justin Bieber and picked the last but not the least gown from the floor.
I folded it and arranged it in my closet , I couldn't sleep so I decided to just arrange the cloth once and for all.
After taking a bath , I saw a missed call from Teni. He later called again and we talked a little , I was feeling tired so I called it a night.
But lieing in the bed , I couldn't even sleep . I don't even know why .
So I stood up walked to the pile of clothes and now I'm done.
I looked at my handwork and nodded grinning at myself.
I walked out of the room to the kitchen , I was feeling hungry but too lazy to cook food I grabbed a cup and scooped cassava flour (garri) inside.
I added sugar and groundnuts , I opened the fridge and brought out a blocked bottle water.
I grinned as I added the water , already salivating when I heard a laugh. I swear I don't know how the cup did not fall cause i just screamed.
When I saw it was Hakeem and he was just laughing and pointing at me , I didn't even know when I joined him.
I walked back to my cup of cassava flour (garri) and mixed it together , "you're crazy." I said chuckling as I walked out and into the sitting room only to meet a sport station.
Why? .. why was he here? I was supposed to watch empire at this time on fox and that's what was in my mind and this guy was watching a Basketball match at least it's even basketball.
"You and food , look at how you were smiling at the garri , shining your teeth." He said making me throw a side pillow at him.
I couldn't help but laugh , "leave me alone with my food abi you're jealous." I asked scooping a spoon into my mouth.
" See you."
"I want to watch empire." I said stretching the remote out.
"I like that series but it's getting tiring. They should just finish it once and for all."
"You and my sister are the same." I said back remembering how Idara use to say the exact same thing.
"Really? "
"Yep."
"You should watch GOT instead." How did we get into this conversation cause strangely it was flowing so well.
"I've watched it Jo. I hate that ending , that ending is rubbish." I said feeling angry. But seriously how could Jon snow not become the king , and then they now said he couldn't even start a family.
And Arya na left , dragons too no where to be found .
"I agree ,the ending is annoying."
"Thank you. Ahh the series makes me angry."
He chuckled and said "calm down."
Making me laugh.
"What about money heist?" I asked dropping my cup on the table,
"Don't let us start on that one. I love that series ."
So guys I've found an important info , to get Hakeem to talk , just talk about movies. Okay so number one thing that he likes ; movies.
"What about I'm not a robot?"
He raised his eyebrows and I could tell he was thinking about it .
"Which country ?"
"Korea." I said back laughing , because he was glaring at me.
"You are not serious, what concern me concern Korea."
I scowled ,
"Ahhh.... Hakeem take that back."
Okay so maybe we could cope.
Surprise.. surprise.
Who thought that this will happen ,
It's a big plot twist .
