The christening of Elizabeth was a grand precision, fit for a prince of England. Elizabeth and James were named the baby girl's godmother and godfather, along with Mary, Anne's sister, and Thomas Cranmer. Elizabeth 1st's father, however, wasn't present, noted by everyone who attended the ceremony. Elizabeth 1st held her half baby sister in her arms with James behind her as Thomas Cranmer blessed the baby. After the blessings, Thomas led the ceremony to Anne's chambers, naming off Elizabeth 2nd's titles, where Elizabeth would hand her half-sister back to Anne. He didn't list off the title of Princess of Wales, seeing that it was Elizabeth 1st's title. When Anne and Henry were talking about their newborn daughter's titles, Anne practically begged Henry to give up Elizabeth 1st's title as Princess of Wales to their daughter. She stated that Catherine's daughter was a bastard, just like Mary. However, Henry stood his ground and told Anne that Elizabeth 1st would keep her title as Princess of Wales. Elizabeth 1st carried her half-sister as the precision made its way to Anne's bedchambers where Anne sat on her bed. Elizabeth smiled at Anne and gave the baby girl back to her mother. Anne took her daughter into her arms, smiling at the baby, and kissed the baby's forehead.

After the ceremony, Elizabeth sat in the gardens as she read a book underneath her favorite oak tree. Lady Eleanor, Lady Mariana, and Lady Caterina sat with their mistress as they did their sewing. Someone approached them and Elizabeth looked up to see her godfather with a solemn look. She told her ladies to give them some privacy and stood. Thomas held out his arm for his goddaughter and walked around the gardens with her. He whispered to her, "Your mother has fallen gravely ill. She asks for you." Elizabeth whispered, "I have asked and begged for Father to let me visit her but he won't let me. Believe me, uncle, I have tried." Thomas whispered, "You must think outside of the box, you always have." Elizabeth whispered, sighing, "I will tell James and will try to come up with a plan. I miss my mother as much as she misses me. Anne has ruined everything." Thomas whispered, "I thought you were friends with the harlot." Elizabeth whispered, "No, uncle. I only became friends with her to stay in Father's good wishes. I promise, I will visit my mother and do what I can to make her happy." She was determined to see her mother and nothing was going to stand in her way. Not even her father or Anne could keep her from her mother, even if it meant her death.
