After Mary signed the oath, she was welcomed back to court into her father's good graces and the trail of Anne Boleyn had begun. Elizabeth had reached her fifth month mark and she could no longer travel long distance for journeys. As for Jane, she still had the King wrapped around her finger. Elizabeth, Mary, and Jane walked in the gardens, in deep conversation. Elizabeth said, "Have you heard any news about the trail?" Jane shaked her head and replied, "No, Your Highness. His Majesty won't speak of it when we are together. He only said that all of the evidence will point to Anne being guilty and she will soon be executed at the tower." Mary said, "What about little Elizabeth?" Elizabeth replied, "She will be with James and I. As her godmother, I will take full guardianship if Father doesn't want guardianship." During their conversation, they were approached by George Boleyn. George bowed to the three women and said to Elizabeth, knowing that she had her father's ear, "Miladies. Your Highness, I came on behalf of my sister. Please, persuade your father to spare her. All the rumors are false and she is innocent." Elizabeth only scoffed and replied, as Jane and Mary watched the interaction, "Lord Boleyn, I am sure that you are aware of my thoughts of the current marriage of my father. I do not care what happens in their marriage as long as my father's wife makes him happy. Anne Boleyn has made my father unhappy therefore she has made me unhappy. She has been a thorn in my side since the very beginning. Don't think for a second that I take the side of a woman who had caused my mother's pain and death. Just so we're clear, this has nothing to do with my half-sister. A child should not be judged by the actions of their parent. Will that be all?" George only stared at the pregnant princess in shock before bowing and left. Elizabeth could only smile in triumph as the man left.

Jane and Mary grinned at each other, proud of Elizabeth. Soon, they were approached by James. James smiled at the sight of his wife with her sister and close friend. He bowed to them and said to them, "Your Highness, My Lady, sweetheart." Elizabeth replied, "Husband. What brings you here?" James said, as he brought Elizabeth into a kiss, "Just wanted to check on you. I'm sure you are aware that your confinement starts tomorrow." Elizabeth sighed and replied, "I refuse to be in confinement, James. I have expressed this before." James sighed, he knew that they had talked about Elizabeth's confinement. She was so terrified that she would end up in a situation like her mother had been in before she and her sister were born. Elizabeth was terrified that James would cast her aside like her father had done to her mother and now Anne. James had reassured Elizabeth that she was and would be the only woman in his life who would have his love. Seeing that this was a conversation that should just between the couple, Jane and Mary both curtsied to the couple then left them be. Elizabeth continued, "I have a reason to believe that maybe confinement isn't a good thing for me. And with the possibility of a wedding between my father and Lady Jane, I would like to be present and a part of the wedding. I will not miss the opportunity of being free of that harlot and enjoy the victory." James sighed and said, after taking in what his wife had said, "Alright, but I beg of you to be careful. I don't what I'll do if I lost you." Elizabeth smiled softly at her husband and replied, placing her hand on his cheek, "It will take a force stronger than our love to tear me apart from you, my love." James smiled at his wife then brought her into another kiss.

From afar, Anne watched the couple with jealousy and anger. George had told her what Elizabeth had said and she couldn't believe it. All this time, she thought the princess was on her side but it seemed that the princess still held a grudge against her. She was just happy that Elizabeth didn't hold anything against her Elizabeth. The current Queen was still struggling with the fact that she couldn't give Henry what she had promised him. A living son. Catherine had failed to do the same but she gave birth to twin daughters. Even though Elizabeth and Mary were girls, the fact that they were twins was unheard of in a natural pregnancy. It was a rarity, especially in the Tudor dynasty. All she could do now was hope and pray that this would pass and God would be on her side.
