Chapter 61 - Divine Power Equipment

The divine power equipment that could be used by warriors were divided into two categories. One was directly forged by powerful divine power; one was created by modifying magic equipment.

Legend had it that mages learned to make magic equipment by studying the divine power equipment of the gods.

The ratio of warriors and mages in Greece far surpassed ten to one. This led to the demand for divine power equipment being far greater than magic equipment, so the price was naturally higher.

However, the manufacturing cost of magic equipment was far lower than that of divine power equipment.

“Then, I can only sell it for 1,000,” Su Ye said.

Rolon nodded and said, “I’ll send the reply to the other party. Thank you very much.”

“We’re all classmates. There’s no need to stand on ceremony,” Su Ye said with a smile.

“If there’s a chance, let’s attend a banquet together,” Rolon said.

“Okay.”

The two turned around and walked in different directions.

“This Rolon…” Su Ye murmured.

Su Ye did not expect Rolon’s attitude towards him to change so quickly.

Based on his deduction, Rolon had long been a warrior apprentice and should be able to advance to becoming a Black Iron Warrior soon.

Before this, Rolon had never taken the initiative to speak to non-nobles. Hutton had fawned on him many times, but Rolon had always tactfully rebuked Hutton’s bootlickling. This caused Hutton to give up trying to get to know Rolon.

Today, Rolon had actually taken the initiative to invite Su Ye to participate in the banquet. This was a great sign of congeniality, even if it was just out of politeness.

Banquets were originally a form of gathering for the Greek nobles. They were feasts. According to the number of people, they were usually categorized into ordinary banquets and large banquets.

The nobles loathed to have non-nobles in their banquets. Any noble who invited non-nobles to participate in their banquets would be ridiculed by others.

However, with the change in times, sufficiently powerful mages or warriors were allowed to participate in some banquets. Generally speaking, only those with at least Silver rank would be invited.

The nobles would not invite commoners to participate in their banquets. The commoners and the rich would also organize their own banquets. Therefore, banquets were now very popular. However, unless there were extremely special circumstances, the nobles would never participate in the banquets of commoners.

Su Ye speculated that other than his strength, the main reason why Rolon invited him was because of the way he treated the students in the Noble Academy.

Su Ye went to the cafeteria. After he finished his meal, he walked out of Plato Academy.

A familiar carriage appeared in front of him. There was a familiar person standing outside the carriage. However, his face was still swollen, even though he had received treatment from the teachers of the academy.

Su Ye looked at Hutton with a smirk.

Hutton panicked as his body trembled. He braced himself and said, “Su… Su Ye, don’t get the wrong idea. I’m here to send you home. My father and Mr. Senat are both waiting at your door to apologize. They’re definitely not looking for trouble. Don’t worry. I won’t dare to mess with you again. If I knew you were a magic apprentice and a friend of Mr. Kaerton, I wouldn’t have dared to provoke you.”

“Are you blaming me for not telling you?” Su Ye took a step forward.

Hutton was scared to tears by Su Ye’s retort, but he quickly reacted and said, “Please pardon my words. No matter what, I shouldn’t have provoked you. We are classmates; we should help each other and not hurt each other.”

“It’s not that you said something wrong. It’s that your way of thinking is wrong. You… You are missing the bigger picture. Forget it, get in the carriage.” Su Ye shook his head helplessly and got into the carriage first.

Hutton was stunned for a moment. He didn’t understand what Su Ye was saying and got into the carriage in a daze.

Su Ye quietly looked at Hutton who sat across from him.

Hutton lowered his head and his two feet were tightly tucked together.

“How much does it cost to hire a carriage to send someone to school every month?” Su Ye asked.

Hutton secretly heaved a sigh of relief. He thought for a moment and said, “I’ve heard that it probably costs a Golden Eagle.”

“It’s not cheap.”

“Yes, even my father wouldn’t use it just to fetch me to school.”

Su Ye compared the benefits of riding a carriage and walking in his heart. He realized that he could meditate, study, or rest while riding a carriage. He wanted to allow himself more time to study, but he also realized that he could exercise while walking. There was actually no correct answer as to which option was better.

He was a mage. He lacked fitness training to begin with. If he rode a carriage even to school, his physical fitness would definitely decline. Moreover, the air in Athens was very good now. It was not as polluted as in Blue Star.

Su Ye thought for a moment and finally decided to walk to school because the importance of the body was easily ignored.

Not long after, the carriage stopped.

The door opened from the outside.

“Respected mage Su Ye, please watch your step.” The enthusiastic Hamon was bending down outside, carefully laying a blanket on the ground.

The Bronze Warrior, Senat, forced out an ugly smile and bent down slightly as he said, “Greetings, Mr. Su Ye.”

Su Ye did not expect Hamon to be like this. He shook his head and said, “Let’s go in and talk.” After he said that, he entered the courtyard, and the other three followed him.

The courtyard was a little desolate and messy.

“Something happened at home. Please pardon my poor hospitality. You guys can take a seat.” Su Ye led the three people to the colonnade and he sat down first.

Under the hazy night sky, the three people stood outside the colonnade in a row. They had smiles on their faces, like three comical statues.

Hamon held a big bag of money in both hands and respectfully handed it to Su Ye. He said, “Here’s 300 Gold Eagles, of which 200 is what I owe you, and 100 is Mr. Kaerton’s.”

Su Ye hesitated for a split second before he reached out to grab the big bag of money. He lifted it up from Hamon’s hands and his arm dropped slightly due to the weight. He exerted more force and placed the bag on the table beside him.

“Our matter has been settled,” Su Ye declared kindly.

“Yes…” Hamon felt as if he had been pardoned. It was a load off his mind.

Senat coughed softly and approached Su Ye with an awkward expression. He handed over his magic dagger and said, “I offended you yesterday. I’m giving you this magic dagger to express my apology. Please accept it.”

Su Ye thought for a moment and took the magic dagger. He inquired, “How much is this kind of weapon that has been strengthened by magic usually worth? How does it compare to divine power equipment?”

Senat quickly replied, “This kind of weapon, after being strengthened by magic power, is worth about 100 Gold Eagles. As for divine power equipment, its power is even stronger. It’s worth at least 1,000 Gold Eagles. The two are completely incomparable.”

“I see…” Su Ye nodded.

Su Ye put the dagger beside the bag of money and glanced at the three people.

Senat had a respectful look on his face.

Hamon was full of smiles.

Hutton forced out an ugly smile. He was trembling in fear.

Su Ye announced, “Right now, I only have one dream, and that is to become a Legendary Mage. Other than that, I have nothing else to ask for. I will not make enemies for no reason or for small gains. However, anyone who stands in the way of my dream is my enemy. I hope that from now on, we’ll go our separate ways.”

“Don’t worry. We won’t give you any more trouble. Never,” Hamon said hurriedly.

On the other hand, Senat said, “If you have any requests in the future, you can look for me at Gray Beard Tavern. It’s very far from Blunt Knife Bar.”

Su Ye glanced at Senat and nodded slightly.

“I still have to study, so I won’t see you off,” Su Ye said.

“Okay…”

The three of them left in a hurry.
