Three years had passed since Lucas and Nathan had bought their home. The couple live comfortably together. It took them a while for them over a year too, but there home. They never seemed to be able to find the perfect place. Thankfully, they managed. It was a modest four-bedroom home, with a £500 mortgage every month. It was affordable for two twenty-one-year- olds. They had managed to get everything they wanted, a spacious living room and kitchen, with Dylan's toys placed around them. A large garden in perfect view from the kitchen window, ensuring the couple could see Dylan as he played. With only two of the bedrooms being used, it allowed one to act as a playroom for Dylan, while the other an office, wherever work came home.

Having gotten A's in college, Lucas could move onto university for a teaching degree. He had Uni four times a week, with a small part-time job, providing his half of the mortgage, despite Nathan's protests. Nathan was still working for Lucas's father and dealing with a publishing company. He had got the book he had been working on since he was seventeen finished and has received the attention of publishers.

Nathan slowly opened his eyes as the irritating gaze of the sun woke him from his peaceful sleep. A smile etched its way onto the adult's face as he felt his boyfriend's muscular arms wrapped securely around his middle and chest.

Feeling the overwhelming need for the toilet consume him, Nathan attempted to maneuver his way out of Lucas's arms without waking him.

"What are you doing?" Nathan froze as Lucas's gruff morning voice filled the room.

"Let me go. I need the toilet," Nathan demanded.

"No, I'm comfy," Lucas answered, smirking slightly at his boyfriend and placing a kiss to his lips before closing his eyes.

"Luke, I'm serious! Let me go!" Nathan said, as he attempted once again to escape,

"Do you promise to come back to bed?" Lucas asked, leaning down and capturing his boyfriend's lips in his.

"Alright! Yes, I promise!" Nathan snarled as he got himself out as Lucas released him.

"Someone's grumpy this morning," Lucas called, as Nathan headed towards their bathroom.

"Shut up, Luke!" Nathan shouted, sending his boyfriend a glare over his shoulder.

Nathan quickly did his business and left the room.

"What's the matter with you?" Lucas questioned as soon as Nathan returned.

"Nothing, Luke, just leave me alone. What time is it?"

Lucas shrugged and sat up. He then grabbed his phone from their bedside table. "Half seven."

"Right, I'll get Dylan up then," Nathan said, not waiting for his boyfriend's response before leaving the room and heading to his sons.

Nathan took a shaky breath as he stopped outside of his son's bedroom. After standing for a couple of minutes, Nathan pushed the door open.

Dylan's room was a lot larger than his old one when they lived with Ryan and Erin. There was a bed at one corner with a wardrobe at the side of the room. They painted the walls a sky blue, something that never failed to waken his parent's up with its brightness in the morning. Next to his son's bed, there was a toy-box. Nathan had argued with Lucas, saying it was completely useless. But Lucas insisted, saying there were toys that Dylan wanted to keep in his room, that had to be put away.

Shaking his head at the mess, Nathan slowly walked to his son's curtains. He was careful and not stepping on any of his son's toys. When he reached the curtains, he instantly pulled them apart and opened his son's windows.

Nathan then made his way towards his son's bed. When he saw Hoppy wrapped in his boy's arms, he smiled. Despite all the other toys his son had gotten, Hoppy has always remained his favorite.

"Dylan," Nathan whispered, lightly shaking his son awake. "Dylan come on, it's time for school," Nathan whispered again. He sent his son a smile when the boy opened his eyes.

"Morning Bud. Come on, get up. It's school," Nathan said, pressing a kiss to his son's forehead.

"Do I have to go?" Dylan questioned, rubbing his eyes.

"Yes, Dylan. Come on, up." Nathan stood up and walked over to his son's wardrobe and pulled out his uniform. He then walked over to his draws and pulled out some underwear and socks, before heading back over to his son's bed and placing the cloths over the edge.

"Do you want my help or can you get ready on your own?" Nathan questioned.

"I can do it," Dylan confidently responded, sending his father a bright smile.

"Okay. Do you want cereal for breakfast?" Nathan questioned. He watched with a small smile on his face as his son started getting dressed on his own.

"Yes!" Dylan shouted, before placing his school shirt over his head.

"There's no need to yell, you don't want Papa to be mad at you right?" Nathan questioned, kneeling down to his son's height and looking him in the eye.

"Yes, Daddy," Dylan responded, looking at the floor.

"Good. Now you get ready, while I make your breakfast," Nathan ordered, getting up and leaving the room.

Nathan headed downstairs and walked into the kitchen. Once he was there, he got a bowl from the cabinet and placed it on the counter. He then opened the fridge and grabbed the milk, before placing it beside the bowl. As he passed, he prepared and turned the coffee machine on and grabbed a cup. While his coffee was being made, he grabbed the cereal packet and poured some into the bowl and followed it with the milk. After that, he placed the cereal away and grabbed a spoon and placed it in the bowl, and lifted it and placed it onto the island.

Nathan then poured his coffee into his cup before he started drinking it.

He had finished half of the cup when Dylan came downstairs. The boy took a seat in front of his breakfast and began eating.

"Where's Papa?" Dylan questioned, still chewing his cereal

"Don't talk with your mouth full, Dylan. He's still sleeping," Nathan lectured before taking another sip of his drink.

Dylan had finished his breakfast and was getting his coat and bag on when Lucas came downstairs.

Nathan didn't miss the weary look he saw sent as his boyfriend greeted their son.

"Dylan, the car is open, can you put your seatbelt on," Lucas ordered as he handed the keys to Nathan.

"We need to talk when you get back," Lucas said. He placed a kiss on Nathan's cheek and sent him a smile before walking into the kitchen.

Half an hour later, Nathan returned. He closed the door behind him and headed into the kitchen, hoping to not have to look for his boyfriend.

"Sit down, Babe," Lucas ordered lightly. He was sitting on one chair in the kitchen.

Nathan nodded and took a seat beside his boyfriend, waiting for the silence to be broken.

"What happened this morning? You've never been that way. I was just playing, you know that," Lucas begun, taking Nathan's hand in his.

"It's just... Dylan's growing up, and he's like her Lucas! I can see it! I hate it! Why does he take after her? I can't stand her," Nathan seethed.

"Sophie may not act like it, Babe, but she is his mother. There was always going to be a chance he turns out like her," Lucas lightly explained. "That's not just it, is it?"

"No, I mean, what if she tries to get him back? I couldn't stand for her to have him," Nathan said, his voice wavering slightly.

"Babe, if she wanted Dylan, she would have come back by now, I promise. I wouldn't let her do that, even if she tried. There is no reason she should get custody over him," Lucas said, as Nathan broke. "Come here, Babe," Lucas whispered as Nathan shot out of his seat and into his boyfriend's arms.

"How about we cuddle?" Lucas questioned, placing a kiss on Nathan's head.

"Yeah," Nathan whispered. He unlatched himself from his boyfriend's arms and lead him towards the living room and lay down on the couch, with Lucas behind him.

"Luke?" Nathan questioned, snuggling up to his boyfriend's chest.

"Yeah?"

"We'll be okay, right?" Nathan whispered, leaning in and kissing Lucas's cheek.

"Of course. As long as we're together," Lucas responded, as he leaned down and placed his lips on Nathan's in a passionate kiss.
