surgery yesterday so

sitting with the dogs

Of course I want to see her; what kind of question is that? I'm just severely stressed. My dog, whom I've had for years almost died because people can follow simple rules.
I got up from the couch to go and check on him. He and Binx share a room but Binx was with my mom so I didn't have to worry about her. That's one of the only times I'm talking to my mom; whenever I need her to watch one of my animals.
I think she's loves them more than she loves me so she's more than okay with it.
"Beastie Boy?" I called. I kept my voice low because I didn't want to startle him.
He didn't even perk up at the sound of my voice like he usually does. That's how I know it's bad.
"I'll be right back. Hold on."
I ran out of the room and went to my office to grab the scary ass cat stuffed animal Harlow bought me. It looks a little like Binx so I'm hoping Beast likes it. He and Binx are best friends!
People like to think cats and dogs hate each other but it's really the opposite. My children love each other.
"Beast, look!"
This time I caught his attention. He quickly whipped his head around to see what I wanted. I could tell seeing the toy made him feel better because I could see his eyes light up.
I placed the toy in his bed next to him, gave his head a scratch, kissed it, and then left the room.
He took his meds about an hour ago so I know he's feeling sleepy which is why I didn't stay with him.
A few minutes later there was a soft knock at my door. I knew it was Harlow so I looked at myself in the mirror before I went to open the door.
"Hey." She smiled.
"Hi."
I was in shock. She was dressed so simply yet her appearance still had an affect on me. How is that possible?
"You gonna keep staring or are you gonna let me in?" She asked, giggling right afterwards.
"Right. Sorry." I coughed, stepping to the side so she could come in.
Once she was completely in the house I noticed the pet smart bag in her hand.
"What's that?" I questioned, eyeing the bag.
"Stuff for Beast. And something for Binx. And then something small for you." She said, avoiding eye contact as she placed the bag on the counter.
"I told you to stop spending your money on me, Harlow."
"I didn't spend it on you, I spent it on your animals! There's a difference." She shrugged.
"You said you had 'something small for me' remember?"
"I never told you what that something small was though."
"So what is it?" I asked, "please inform me, I'm dying to know-" Before I could continue my sass laced sentence I felt a pair of lips on mine.
I kissed her back, obviously. I felt like a teenager in high school kissing their crush.
"See, priceless." She breathed, once we pulled away.
Before she had the chance to walk away I pulled her back in, my lips on hers. I was aggressive. I wanted to taste more of her.
"Jump." I whispered.
She did.
My head traveled down, attacking her neck with my lips.
I heard a soft moan escape her lips causing me to want her even more.
I began to walk towards my room when she stopped me.
"Your dog is in the next room!"
"So? He's sleep. And we'll be quick."
"If you say so. According to my calculations last time you said "we'll be quick" we went on for hours."
"I swear. This time we'll actually be quick."

Per usual, Harlow and I lost track of time. Her phone began ringing so she jumped up. She forgot she needed to pick up Halo so Jason called her multiple times. He was rightfully pissed so she gave me a quick kiss goodbye before speeding off home.
I forgot Raven was supposed to come over after work to discuss what the sub was doing in my class. She arrived the same time Harlow was leaving.
"Why did Halo Hanes' mother just walk out of your house limping?" Raven asked, a smirk resting on her lips.
"I just had the best stress relieving sex of my life is why."
"Ash is gonna beat your ass."
"It was worth it," I shrugged, "How's my godchildren?"
"Well one is with his momma and the other won't stop kicking the hell out of me."
"Yeah, you got that. I'll stick to having godchildren."
I've actually wanted to have a fuck ton of kids when I was younger. Whenever an adult would ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up I always said a mom but after seeing what pregnancy was like I changed my mind. And yes, I could always adopt, but adoption is expensive and as a teacher I don't get paid enough.
Maybe I'll convince whoever I'm with to get pregnant instead of me.
"What about me? I want a godchild." Raven stared.
"You have your own children. That's enough."
"I'm so tired of you."

A/n: I really dislike the way I ended this chapter but it's whatever. Next chapter will be the time skip so I'm thinking the date will be either the end of October-beginning of November OR beginning-middle of November. I'm not sure yet (unedited chapter).
