After Atticus and Halo went home I had a couple hours left before I had to leave. I really didn't want to face Harlow right now, but like Ashley said, this isn't about us.
We were going to have to talk to each other eventually. I'm her daughter's teacher for Christ's sake. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. For now, I needed to worry about the students I have. They aren't aware that I'm leaving early, and just like me, a lot of them hate surprises.
"Alrighty," I spoke, "I am unfortunately leaving early. Your sub will be Miss Hanks, like last time. I expect you all to be on your best behavior- Rhodes that goes for you especially. Any questions?"
Of course they had questions but I really wasn't in the mood to answer all of them so I answered a few.
"Why are you leaving?" Noah asked.
"I have to do something for Miss McNight."
"Are you coming back?" Asked Valentine.
"No, I am not. I'll be back tomorrow."
"Holiday, why would she come back?" Rhodes questioned.
"Rhodes! I didn't even leave yet and you're already starting." I chuckled.
"She's asking a stupid question!" He defended.
"It probably didn't sound stupid to her, Rhodes." Rylee shrugged.
"Thank you, Rylee," I nodded, "I want you guys to continue with your packets. Once Miss Hanks gets here she's gonna turn on your work music and you'll finish them for the remainder of the day. You must turn them in tomorrow morning. If they aren't completed the people who love you will be getting emailed."
I don't like giving out packets but they do the job. Plus, I make them fun. I like to add in coloring pages in at random so they can take a brain break.

I left immediately after Miss Hanks came into the class. My kids, being the dramatic little children they are, decided to fake cry while I packed up.
I love them, but they are just so crazy sometimes.
I had to stop by my house so I could change my clothes and get ready to drop Beast off at my moms. I didn't want him going back to daycare yet so he's been spending a lot of time at my mom's house. Binx is great though. She's happy and healthy living her life with Nellie at daycare.
"Beastie Boy!" I called.
He came running out to his room holding the stuffed cat Harlow brought me. I named it Jinx since it resembled Binx. Beast loves playing with it but Binx on the other hand isn't the biggest fan of the toy. Every time she sees it she's hissing at it.
I love how opposite they are.
I quickly changed my clothes and then sped to my moms. I was starting to run late and that rarely happens.
I dropped Beast off then sped over to Harlow's house. We agreed to meet up there because she has a lot more space than I do. This was planned before I found out she was cheating on me so at the time I was happy to be coming over to her house.
I noticed three cars in the driveway which didn't really make sense to me. If it's just her that's home where did the extra two cars come from? Who's the owners?
I walked up the door and knocked. Two minutes went by with no response so I invited myself in. The door was unlocked. Was she trying to get herself killed?
As soon as I crossed the threshold I heard a female voice screaming. I ran up the stairs in a panic. Why the hell does she have a three story?
I followed the screaming which led me to a room. Lilian produced the screaming and I knew why. When I got to the room Harlow's eyes were rolling to the back of her head when Jason punched her in her face. I began screaming along with Lilian out of fear. Harlow dropped to the ground and passed out. I'm not sure how many times she was hit but it was enough.
Everything after that happened so quickly. Jason running out of the house, me dropping to the ground next to a now bloody Harlow, Lilian still screaming and pulling out her phone to call the police. The paramedics arrived what felt like a year later. They put Harlow on a gurney and rushed her out of the house. Me and Lilian jumped into my car and followed the ambulance truck to the hospital.
I guess there won't be any gender reveal planning today.

Lilian left to go pick up the kids from school so she could drop them off at Jason's parents house leaving me the only person in Harlow's hospital room.
She'd been in this coma for damn near twenty-four hours. She may have broke my heart but I still care about her so I'm going to be there for her.
I texted the group chat letting Ashley and Raven know what happened. And even though Harlow broke their best friend's heart, they too still cared.
That was yesterday. I was currently on the phone with Raven giving her updates.
The funny thing about this situation was that we were at the Hospital Ashley works at and Ashley just so happened to be Harlow's doctor. As soon as Ashley found out she came running to Harlow's room and demanded that she be the doctor that looks after her.
Ongoing call with 'Bird Bitch'
Yeah, Lilian just left like five minutes ago. Her boyfriend has the kids I believe. She's taking them to Jason's mom's house.
Has anyone heard from the bitch?
Nope. The police have been trying to find him for the past two days. Lilian called him like fifteen times but every time it went to voicemail.
And his parents?
Lilian called his mom- his dad is non-verbal. His mom said she hasn't seen or heard from him in two weeks.
Does she know what he did?
Lilian didn't tell her.
What the fuck? Why?
I don't know. She's gonna find out soon though. I hope.
I hope he knows he isn't getting away with this. I'm gonna find his ass. You know I'm a stalker. Is Lilian coming back to the hospital?
Yeah but she's not coming til later. She has to do a couple hours at her job. I'm gonna leave when she comes back. I smell like old onions right now.

Harlow was squinting really hard as she woke up. I saw her struggling to sit up and watched as she sighed in defeat. It was cute.
Her head began moving rapidly as she scanned the room.
"Salem?" Her voice was raspy. It sounded dry. I liked it.
"Hey."
"What time is it?" She asked.
"Uh...two-thirty-nine. Hold on I'm gonna call Ash. She'll explain everything."
Outgoing call to 'Ashy Knees ð«¶ð¾'
Ash? She's awake. She just woke up.
I'm on my way. Tell her to not move.
Okay.
Call ended
"She said to not move. She's on her way."
My voice was small. I wasn't as confident as I usually was. She fucked me up.
