Vol. 5 Finding The Missing Tyrant Chapter 13
It was the moment I was embarrassed by Adrianâs refusal to let me go.
âI expected to hear something interesting, but look what I found instead.â
Someone emerged from the bottom of the stairs.
âWhat a dreadful sight.â
Shannon emerged from the shadows behind the pillar.
âDonât you have any pride?â
Shannon, arms crossed, looked at Adrian with a pathetic expression on her face.
It was my first time seeing the two standing next to each other.
Maybe because they were twins, they were like a prince and a princess.
They both grow to be quite tall.
Shannon has dark blond hair that is close to brown, and Adrian, close to me, has bright blond hair that is close to silver.
âHow come youâre so clingy when sheâs said she hates you? Iâm sick and tired of how you act.â
Adrian didnât seem to get along with Shannon.
Adrian said, looking down at Shannon with indifferent eyes.
âShut up.â
âYou shut up.â
Shannon, who just talks rudely to everyone except Camilla, was no exception to Adrian.
âJust because your mouth is open does not mean you can say whatever you want. Just go wash your feet and sleep.â
Shannon said sternly as she looked at me, still being held by Adrian.
âWhy do you stand there like an idiot? You used to spit in his face back then.â
Spit on his faceâ¦â¦?
âSelina did that!?â
But I heard they were close enough to kiss each other when they were younger! Didnât Adrian say that before?
With puzzled eyes, I looked at his side profile.
Adrian seemed perplexed as to whether he had lied to me.
Oh my goodness. Selina, did you really spit in his face?
âShe must have really hate his personality to do that!â
Shannon, who saw my confusion and pulled my arm hard.
âAhâ¦â¦!â
I escaped Adrianâs arms by a hairâs breadth, rotting like a doll in a rough touch.
My poor arm.
You only have an injury because you are being held in the hands of inept twins.
Shannon, who clicked her tongue with a âtsk tsk,â immediately took his gaze away from Adrian, as if her intention had always been me.
âLook after Lord Crawford.â
Shannon was looking after Cedric on Camillaâs orders.
âU-u-uncle?â
âYeah. Go right ahead.â
I nodded and quickly grabbed my skirt, brushing past Shannon in case Adrian followed me again.
Shannon and Adrianâs low words could be heard from behind me.
âYouâre a crazy jerk.â
âGet out of my way!â
It was obvious that the two were siblings who shared blood.
âºâºâºâ¼â»â»â»
Cedric looked pitifully pale. He wasnât feeling well, but it wasnât because of the poison.
âIâd be in the coffin by now if it hadnât been for the antidote you gave me, Selina.â
After hearing the entire story from Franz, he had no doubt that Camilla had attempted to poison herself through the use of her servant.
âI might never be able to open my eyes again without knowing why I died.â
The sense of betrayal he felt towards Camilla seemed quite great.
âYou were correct in everything you said. Selina.â
Cedric moved his stiff lips as he stared at the blank white wall.
âI was naive. â
Iâm sorry, but youâve been naive all along.
âI didnât think a poor woman would dare to commit such a heinous crime.â
âWell, she could do a lot worse.â
I canât believe heâs so taken aback by just one poisoning attempt.
Heâd pass out if he realized the antidote I gave him was poison.
âDid you eat anything for breakfast?â
âI drank only water. I assumed my headache and nausea were the result of too much drinking.â
âBut the symptoms would not have been the same as a simple hangoverâ¦â¦â
âRight, it wasnât the typical hangover.â
It had to have been a pretty awful hangover.
I told Penny to change all of the alcohol in his bedroom to high alcohol content.
âAs soon as I drank the water, my head began to spin, and I felt as if I had been thrown into an oak barrel and rolled.â
Cedric shuddered, as if it was repulsive to think about it again.
I nodded solemnly.
âThen the problem must have been the water in your bedroom.â
The water in Cedricâs bedroom was left by one of the maids.
In this County Castle, not only the maids but all the employees are worked under Camillaâs control.\sâThe high priest said the same thing.â
Cedric, of course, had no doubts about Franz and me.
We had no reason to hurt him, and Cedric never seemed to suspect the priest was lying.
âIâm going to file a trial at the temple the next day.â
