A LOT HAD HAPPENED SINCE THE FREE PERIOD, AND THEY DISCOVERED A BUNCH. Coach had began yelling at Scott in the middle of class, and it was obvious that he was panicking and getting angrily. However, Allison reached forward and grabbed his hand from under the desk, which calmed him down almost immediately.
This led them to the conclusion that Allison kept him calm instead of making him weak. So, to test this theory, Stiles made it so that these random guys outside the school beat up Scott, and the McCall boy had to stay calm. Unfortunately for them, Harris caught them and gave the three of them detention.
"Excuse me, sir? Uh, I know it's detention and all, but, uh... I'm supposed to be at work, and I don't want to get fired," Scott explained to Mr. Harris as they sat at a table in the middle of the classroom after school. Wren was incredibly bored because he would not even let them do homework. She was just sitting there with her head on her arms, lying on the table because she was so tired and was not doing so well that day. The man just stared at him for a moment before looking back down at his papers. Scott just sighed and turned to Stiles, and Wren was pretty sure it was to confront him about trying to get him killed. However, the werewolf did not seem mad.
"You knew I would heal," he said, and Stiles simply nodded. "So, you did that to help me learn?" Another nod. "...But partially to punish me." Yet another nod. Wren slowly nodded herself because she had been really confused about everything that was going on up to that point. "Dude, you and Wren are my best friends, and I can't have you being angry with me."
Stiles sighed and finally looked up at the boy, and Wren reckoned that she would finally forgive both of them for putting her through all of that. The amount of times she had to retype Scott's messages to Stiles was insane. The Stilinski boy informed him, "I'm not angry anymore. Look. You have something, Scott, okay? Whether you want it or not, you can do things that nobody else can do. So, that means you don't have a choice anymore â it means you have to do something."
"I know. And I will," Scott assured him. Wren lifted her head up from the desk to give both of them a high five. This caused the teacher at the front of the room to glare at them.
Once they were finally let out â a lot later than they anticipated â Wren drove Scott to the animal clinic while Stiles went home to get 'supplies,' whatever that meant. As they walked into Scott's work, they froze when they saw the sight in front of them. The McCall boy exclaimed, "What are you doing?"
"Scott, get out of here!" Deaton yelled as both teenagers glanced back and forth between him and Derek, who was holding him by the neck and lifting him off of the ground. The vet was clearly in distress as the Hale man lowered him down into a chair and punched him as hard as he could across the face.
This caused Wren to finally snap out of the trance that she was in and step further into the room. She approached Derek with Scott behind her, and she put her hands up, wanting to stop the abuse but not wanting to get in the middle of it. "Woah! Hold on! Stop!"
"Look, when he's conscious, he can keep himself from healing, but unconscious, he can't," Derek explained angrily, getting in her face. She took a step back and glanced down at Scott's unconscious boss, and she crouched down to see if she could help while the two werewolves argued. "You want to know what the spiral means, Scott? It's our sign for a vendetta â for revenge. It means he won't stop killing until he's satisfied."
"You think he's the Alpha?" the McCall boy asked, so confused and clearly frustrated that the older man just attacked his boss, a man that he considered a friend and someone who knew nothing about the supernatural. Wren poked the man's leg, feeling sorry because he was probably so confused. He had no clue what Derek wanted, unless the Hale man was right, and Deaton was the Alpha. The older werewolf muttered something before bringing his fist down again, but Scott got his wrist before anything happened.
Then, there was a loud growl that echoed throughout the room. Wren looked up to see that his werewolf mode was activated. It was kind of scary but also kind of cool to see him like that. He had crazy long sideburns that were definitely not a look, and his forehead stuck out more than usual. He looked down at his hand and revealed claws that were slowly turning back into normal nails as he transitioned back. He looked up at Derek, who had backed away ever so slightly but enough to be noticeable. "Hit him again, and then you'll see me get angry."
"I don't think that was as cool as you thought it was, Scott," Wren informed her friend, causing both of the males to glare at her. She just rolled her eyes, almost not able to breathe from the amount of toxic masculinity that was filling up the room.
Derek then sighed and turned back to Scott with raised eyebrows because they had to do something. They could not just wait the opportunity of an unconscious Deaton. "Do you have a plan?"
"Just give me an hour," the McCall boy answered, and the Hale man kept staring at him as if asking what would happen at the end of that hour. Scott answered, "Meet me at the school. In the parking lot."

THEY TOLD STILES TO MEET THEM AT THE SCHOOL ON THEIR WAY OVER. The Stilinski was not a fan of the plan at all, and he had spent the last thirty minutes telling them that and listing reasons why they really shouldn't go through with it. "This is a terrible idea."
"Are you sure, Stiles? I thought you spent the last million years telling us how amazing this plan was," Wren answered in a very sarcastic voice. She loved annoying Stiles. It was always so funny to see him get mad because he could never really do anything about it.
Stiles just stuck his tongue out at her and shook his head like he was a child, which made her look all that more mature than him. He then glanced at his male friend, hoping he would somehow be more reasonable. "But we're still gonna do it...?"
"Can you think of something better?" Scott responded with a questioning expression.
"Well, personally, I'm a fan of ignoring a problem until eventually it just goes away..." the short-haired boy answered, and when the girl scoffed at him, he spun around to face her. "Hey, Wren, how is solving all of your problems with pills going because that seems like a way better way to handle things."
The werewolf's eyes widened, and he looked between his two best friends, wondering how Stiles' face was going to look once Wren was done smacking him silly. However, she just rolled her eyes and turned away, walking toward the parking lot. She heard Scott smack his friend behind her. "What the hell is wrong with you, man?"
"She started it," Stiles answered, gesturing to the blonde girl. Her response was to raise her middle finger over her shoulder so that he could see it clearly. They all knew that mentioning her medicine was a low blow and pretty much off limits.
"Just make sure we can get inside," Scott told him, not wanting to get in the middle of the fight. One thing that he definitely did not want to happen was getting on Wren's bad side. That was a terrifying place to be. "He's here," he informed them as Derek's black Camaro pulled into the parking lot. The man stepped out, and Scott asked, "Where's my boss?"
"He's in the back," the Hale man answered, nodding his head toward the trunk of his car.
Confused and slightly concerned, Wren made her way to the back of the vehicle and popped open the door to see Deaton curled up and squished in the small space. The others all moved to stand next to her and stare down at him as well. "Oh, well, he looks comfortable."
"Hey. What are you doing?" Derek yelled after the three when they began walking toward the school.
Scott began walking backwards so he could call back, "You said I was linked with the Alpha. I'm gonna see if you're right."
"One of them stays with me, then," the Hale man ordered, and Wren and Stiles' heads both whipped around to look at each other. Scott then kind of nudged the blonde girl back toward the parking lot, and she stared at him in disbelief. "I need someone to use as bait."
"Derek, little tip, don't tell the person you're using as bait that you're using them as bait," the Carter girl informed the older man as she trudged back down the sidewalk and toward his car. "It kinda makes them nervous that you're going to push the in front of the monster and run, and if you are gonna do that, you don't want them to be ready for it."
She then just opened the door of his car without him answering and lied down in the back seat, covering her head with her hands. Derek stared at her for a moment in confusion before getting in the driver's seat. He was kind of glad that it was her instead of Stiles. Both were sarcastic, but she shut the hell up at some point whereas Stiles just talked forever.
A moment later, there was a strangled cry that echoed throughout the parking lot, causing Wren to shoot up and look around. She then realized that it must have been Scott's failed attempt at a howl. Derek looked like he was in complete and utter shock that someone could be such an idiot, and he just put his head in his hand.
Then, it was followed by a huge howl. It was pretty good, if Wren did say so herself, but at the sound of it, Derek's face got even angrier. A couple of seconds later, Scott and Stiles came out of the school, laughing and celebrating over their amazing feat that Stiles had nothing to do with.
"I'm gonna kill both of you!" Derek shouted, and both he and the blonde girl climbed out of his car. "What the hell was that? What are you trying to do, attract the entire state to the school?"
"Sorry... I didn't know it would be that loud," Scott replied, though he was clearly proud of it. A really cute grin was spread across his face. He then headed toward the back of the car to check on his boss.
Stiles just nodded enthusiastically, and he looked like he was about to start dancing from excitement, like it was him that just howled to the entire town. "Yeah, it was loud... and it was AWESOME!"
"Shut up," Derek told him, clearly not having it.
Stiles rolled his eyes at the man, wondering why he always had to ruin every ounce of joy they ever experienced. "Don't be such a sour-wolf!"
"What'd you do with him?" Scott called angrily, and they all looked up to see the trunk of the car open and an angry expression on his face. The others headed over to stand next to him, and their eyes widened when they saw that the trunk was completely empty.
"I didn't do anything," Derek defended, pointing to Wren. "She was with me this entire time."
All of a sudden, blood began pouring out of his mouth as a squelching sound came from behind him. He choked, and they saw the faint outline of a giant wolf lift him up and fling him into a wall. Stiles was already headed toward the school, but the blonde girl was frozen in fear. She felt someone grab her hand, and she turned around to see Scott tugging her backwards.
Holy crap.
