The sun rose on Xavier High, and the buzz around the cultural event only grew louder. Meera Sharma, true to her nature, was running late again. Her younger brother, Ayaan, stood by the door with her water bottle.
"Di, kal ek reel banate hain na?" Ayaan suggested.
"Ayaan, kal ki baat kal karenge! Abhi late ho rahi hoon!" Meera grabbed the bottle and darted out the door, her mother's voice calling after her.
"Paratha lunch box mein hai! dhyan se kha lena!"
As she hopped onto her scooty, Meera scrolled through her phone. A WhatsApp notification caught her eye:
Kabir Mehta: "Aaj ke rehearsal mein Aarav ke expressions ke memes banane ka plan hai. Who's in?"
Meera grinned. "Kabir bhaiya is going to be my new favorite senior," she muttered, revving the engine.
---------------------------------------------------
At the Kapoor household, Aarav's mornings were, as always, disciplined. After his usual workout, he sat at the dining table with his father, Raghav Kapoor.
"Beta, kal jo project maine diya tha, uska kya plan hai?" his father asked.
"Dad, I'll submit it by next week," Aarav replied, glancing at the time.
Ishika, his sister, walked in with her phone, laughing. "Aarav, Meera Sharma is hilarious. Did you see her latest post?"
"No," Aarav said curtly, focusing on his toast.
"She called herself 'Head Girl, Drama Queen,'" Ishika added, grinning. "Perfect description, don't you think?"
Aarav didn't reply, but the faint twitch of his lips didn't go unnoticed by Ishika.

A Hint of Chaos
The school parking lot was a scene of organized chaos. Cars, bikes, and scooties filled the space, and students milled about, discussing event preparations.
Meera parked her scooty next to Aman's bike. "Ready for the day, Assistant Head Boy?"
"Always," Aman replied, mock saluting. "But I heard seniors are planning something big for today."
"Big? Like what?" Meera asked, intrigued.
"Pata nahi. Bas suna hai ki Aarav Kapoor ke ideas hamesha next level hote hain," Aman teased.
"Oh please, Captain Serious aur ideas?" Meera rolled her eyes, but inwardly, her curiosity was piqued.
"By the way Head girl!" Aman exclaimed. "Principal ke notice board pe tumhara naam likha hai."
"Kya? Kyun?" Meera asked, confused.
"Tumne cultural event ke liye application form mein kuch zyada likh diya hoga," Aman said, grinning mischievously.
Meera groaned. "Phir se drama shuru."
Meanwhile, Aarav, who overheard the exchange, couldn't help but smirk. Maybe Meera Sharma's chaotic energy was exactly what this year needed.
-------------------------------------------------
Classroom Shenanigans
In the senior classroom, Kabir was already at work creating memes.
"Bhai, Sharma ne aaj group mein phir ek dum crazy idea dala hai," Kabir said, showing Aarav his phone.
"What now?" Aarav asked, exasperated.
"Flash mob during recess," Kabir replied. "Aur guess karo, kiska naam lead ke liye propose kiya hai?"
Aarav sighed. "Mine, obviously."
Priyanka, overhearing the conversation, chimed in. "Ignore her, Aarav. She's just trying to get attention."
Kabir smirked. "Aur woh successfully le bhi rahi hai, Priyanka ji."
-------------------------------------------------
The Rehearsal Drama
The auditorium was buzzing as juniors and seniors gathered for the day's rehearsal. Meera, clipboard in hand, took charge immediately.
"Alright, everyone! Before we start, let's finalize roles for the skit," she announced.
Kabir raised his hand dramatically. "I volunteer to play the hero."
"Hero? Kabir bhaiya, aap villain vibes dete ho," Meera shot back, earning laughter from the group.
"Okay, let's do something fun," Riya suggested. "How about a short dance battle to break the ice?"
Meera's eyes lit up. "Brilliant idea! Captain Kapoor, as team captain, aap seniors ki team lead karenge."
"I'm not dancing," Aarav said flatly.
"Arre, aapko nahi karna dance," Meera replied, grinning. "Bas team ko motivate karna hai. Seniors ki izzat aapke haath mein hai, Captain Kapoor."
Aarav shook his head but stood at the back, arms crossed, watching the chaos unfold.
-------------------------------------------------
The Dance Battle
The juniors and seniors squared off in the center of the stage. Kabir's exaggerated moves had everyone in splits, while Meera led the juniors with a flawless freestyle.
"Captain Kapoor!" Kabir called out mid-battle. "Ek move toh banta hai!"
The room erupted in chants of "Kapoor! Kapoor!" as Aarav reluctantly stepped forward. He executed a single, precise move-an effortless spin that silenced the room for a moment before applause and cheers filled the air.
Meera clapped the loudest. "Aap toh hidden talent nikle, Captain!"
"Yeh ek exception tha," Aarav said, walking off.
"Achha hai, Captain Serious," Meera teased. "Mujhe lagta hai aap secretly maza le rahe ho."
--------------------------------------------------
The Group Chat Antics
Later that evening, the WhatsApp group was ablaze with memes and videos from the dance battle.
Kabir: "Kapoor's spin deserves an award."
Meera: "Captain Kapoor ne finally human hona accept kar liya."
Priyanka: "Let's focus on the actual event, not random battles."
Riya: "Priyanka didi, chill. Sab thoda fun kar rahe hain."
Meera privately messaged Aarav again.
Meera: "Waise, aapka spin kaafi impressive tha ð. Hidden dancer hai kya?"
Aarav: "No."
Meera: "Itni jaldi deny kyun kar rahe ho? Mujhe toh lagta hai aap secretly practice bhi karte ho."
Aarav: "Goodnight, Meera."
Meera: "Captain Serious strikes again. Sweet dreams, Mr. Spin Star."
-------------------------------------------------
That night, Meera sat in her room, scrolling through the day's videos. She smiled as she watched Aarav's unexpected dance move on repeat.
"Captain Kapoor, Aapke andar ka entertainer kab bahar aayega?" she muttered.
Meanwhile, Aarav lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. His sister's words from the morning echoed in his mind: "Drama Queen."
Maybe Meera Sharma wasn't entirely wrong about shaking things up.
-------------------------------------------------
A Musical Morning
The next day began with a buzz of excitement at Xavier High. The cultural event preparations were in full swing, and a new announcement on the notice board added to the frenzy.
Notice: "All participants are to prepare a musical segment for tomorrow's rehearsal. Teams may incorporate singing, instruments, or both. The best performance gets featured in the finale!"
Meera read the notice aloud to Aman and Riya as they stood by the board. "Matlab hum ab singers bhi ban gaye?" she said, shaking her head dramatically.
"Kyun nahi?" Aman grinned. "Tum toh dance ke saath gana bhi kar sakti ho."
Meera raised an eyebrow. "Aapka sarcasm main ignore kar rahi hoon, Mr. Assistant Head Boy."
"Aur agar Aarav Kapoor guitar bajate dikhe, toh mujhe koi shock nahi hoga," Riya said, smirking.
Meera's ears perked up. " Captain Kapoor aur guitar? Yeh combo toh interesting hai."
--------------------------------------------------
Aarav's Dilemma
In the senior classroom, Kabir had already read the notice and was pestering Aarav.
"Bro, tujhe yaad hai na? Tumhare room mein ek guitar hai jo tum bajate ho jab tum bore hote ho?"
"I don't play publicly," Aarav replied, flipping through his chemistry textbook.
"But captain, imagine the reaction if you do!" Kabir insisted. "Sharma toh faint ho jaayegi."
Aarav shot him a glare but couldn't entirely dismiss the idea. He did love music, but performing in front of a crowd wasn't his style.
Priyanka, who had been eavesdropping, chimed in. "Aarav, if you perform, I'll make sure everyone knows you're multi-talented."
"Stop involving me in all this," Aarav said, standing up. "I have practice."
-------------------------------------------------
The Rehearsal Begins
The auditorium was alive with energy as teams gathered to rehearse. Meera, as usual, took charge of the juniors, while Aarav stayed at the back, observing.
"Aaj ka plan simple hai," Meera announced to her team. "Ek gaana select karte hain, thoda dance add karte hain, aur baaki improvisation."
Aman laughed. "Tumhare liye sab kuch simple hai."
"Of course, Assistant Head Boy," Meera said, winking.
The juniors finally settled on a medley of popular Bollywood songs, starting with "Tera Ban Jaunga" from Kabir Singh and ending with the upbeat "Gallan Goodiyan" from Dil Dhadakne Do.
Meera took center stage, her voice captivating as she sang the opening lines:
"Tera ban jaunga... tera ban jaunga..."
Even Aarav, standing far away, couldn't help but glance at her.
"She's good," Kabir whispered, nudging him.
"She's loud," Aarav muttered, though his gaze lingered.
-------------------------------------------------
When it was the seniors' turn, Priyanka immediately nominated Aarav to play the guitar.
"Aarav, you're the only one who can pull this off," she said, flashing a hopeful smile.
"I said no," Aarav replied firmly.
Kabir stepped in, his mischievous grin widening. "Captain, ek baar Sharma ko hara do. Aap ka talent toh sabko dekhna chahiye."
Finally, Aarav relented. "Fine. But no singing."
The seniors chose the soulful "Tum Hi Ho" from Aashiqui 2. Aarav's guitar skills mesmerized everyone as he strummed the opening chords. His fingers moved effortlessly, and the music seemed to fill every corner of the room.
Meera stopped mid-conversation to listen. She leaned over to Riya. "Mujhe nahi pata tha yeh banda itna talented hai."
"Aur Priyanka ka obsession justified hai," Riya added, smirking.
---------------------------------------------------
That evening, the WhatsApp group was abuzz with reactions.
Kabir: "Captain ne aaj stage tod diya!"
Meera: "Kya talent chhupa rakha tha, Kapoor ji?"
Aarav: "Please don't start."
Priyanka: "Aarav, you were amazing. Let's do this again tomorrow!"
Riya: "Sharma, Captain ke fan club ka president banne ki soch rahi ho?"
Meera privately messaged Aarav.
Meera: "Waise, mujhe laga tha aap sirf books aur football mein interested ho. Par yeh guitar wala surprise toh unexpected tha."
Aarav: "I don't perform often."
Meera: "Shayad karna chahiye. You were amazingð."
Aarav stared at the message for a moment before replying:
Aarav: "Thanks."
