After the Photo Session
"Alright, baccho, we're leaving now! Message on the group once you're on the train!" Ram Suryavanshi called out.
The older ones had their flights booked, while the younger group decided for the train to squeeze in a bit more time together.
"Haan, Papa, don't worry!" Dev replied.
"Worry toh tumhara hi karna padta hai! Sid, Veda, take care of these two monkeys," Neeta instructed, her tone half-joking, half-serious.
Sid grinned. "Don't worry, Maa." He leaned down to kiss her forehead.
Vedang's mom, Megha, approached Iraa with a warm smile.
"It was so lovely meeting you, beta. Do visit us sometime, alright? And Karan, tum bhi aana-and take it easy," she said, patting Iraa's cheek affectionately.
"Haan beta, zaroor aana! Bhaiya, mei toh kehta hu, we should all arrange a dinner at our place soon," Ajay chimed in with enthusiasm.
"Bas, bas, abhi we can make these plans later. Right now, you all should get going; better reach the airport early," Aditi added, hugging everyone goodbye.
"Karan, take care of Iraa, okay? Kriti, you're coming home with them since your parents aren't home, right?" Iraa's mom asked.
"Haanji, Maataji, aajaungi," Kriti answered with a soft smile and a flying kiss.
"I'll help," Vedang offered as he grabbed Akash's (Iraa's dad) bag.
"Take it easy at work, alright? I keep telling Karan the same thing," he added with a grin, earning a pat on the back.
A Few Hours Later-2:00 AM
The hallway was filled with the sound of dragging bags, footsteps echoing on the polished floors, and Aditi shouting for Dev, who had misplaced his stuff-again.
Iraa was just about to head downstairs with her bag when suddenly, a strong arm grabbed her wrist, pulling her into one of the nearby rooms.
She let out a small yelp, startled by the speed of it all. The door clicked shut behind her, and she immediately smacked the person responsible on the arm.
"Vedang!" she hissed, swatting him on the arm. "You scared the hell out of me!"
Vedang let out a soft chuckle, completely unrepentant. "Sorry," he said, though his smirk betrayed him.
Vedang's POV:
I didn't plan on pulling her into the room like that, but I couldn't help it.
Everyone was laughing, packing, and teasing. But all I could think about was her.
The second I saw her standing there, carefree, radiant-like the world wasn't about to rip us apart tomorrow-I felt something in me twist.
Tomorrow meant reality. She'd be back at college, drowning in books, and I'd be at the office, buried in work. The thought of not seeing her every day-it stung.
I've never been good with emotions, but this... This was different.
Before I even knew what I was doing, I grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the room, shutting out the world.
Her startled gasp was adorable, and she gave me a light smack on my arm.
"Vedang! You scared the hell out of me!"she scolded, her eyebrows furrowing in that way that always made me smile.
"Sorry," I said, though it wasn't much of an apology.
I couldn't be sorry. I wasn't. I just needed her here, away from all the noise, away from the world.
I needed to hold her, to breathe her in, before we went back to reality.
She opened her mouth, probably ready to scold me again, but before she could, my hands moved on their own.
I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her into the tightest hug I'd ever given.
She froze for a second, but then, her body relaxed into mine, her arms finding their way around my waist. Her face nuzzled into my chest.
Her warm body pressed against mine, and the familiar scent of her hair filled my lungs.
Her hair had that coconuty refreshing scent. God, I didn't realize how much I would miss her until now.
Without saying anything, she understood. Of course she did-she always understood. She hugged me back tighter, burying her face into my chest.
"I'll miss you too," she whispered, her voice muffled but clear enough to make my chest ache.
I pulled back just enough to see her face. Her eyes, warm and full of understanding, glimmered in the dim light.
A soft smile tugged at her lips, and there it was-that damn dimple. Every time it appeared, I felt like it was meant just for me.
God, she was perfect.
"You will?" I asked, even though I already knew the answer.
She nodded, her smile growing. And then, with that playful glint in her eyes, she stood on her toes, trying to reach my lips.
Her lips were soft, familiar-yet, it felt like the first time, every time.
It was only our third kiss, but it didn't matter. Every kiss with her left me wanting more.
She kissed me like she was memorizing me, like this was the last time she'd get to do it for a while.
It was slow at first, gentle.
I responded in kind, my hands gripping her waist, pulling her closer.
The kiss deepened, shifting from sweet to something more desperate, more intense.
She kissed me like she needed me to know something without words.
The moment she did, something inside me just snapped. For the first time it was her leading it.
Her hands slid up, finding their way to my neck, and then into my hair, tugging lightly.
I know we just started dating 2 days back but it felt like I knew her since a long time. maybe I did, sort of.
God, this girl.
I groaned softly against her lips, and that's when I felt her push a little harder, her lips moving more urgently, more aggressively.
It caught me off guard, but in the best way possible.
"What are you doing to me, Miss Singhania?"
I mumbled between kisses, the words barely leaving my mouth as she kissed me again, smiling against my lips.
She didn't answer, just continued, she was clearly proud of herself her lips teasing me, her fingers pulling gently on my hair.
I couldn't help but smile too. She was something else.
Author's POV
Vedang's grip on Iraa's waist tightened as they both lost themselves in the moment.
His fingers traced the soft fabric of her top, his mind clouded by the warmth of her lips, the feel of her body so close to his.
His hand slid behind her neck as he swiftly picked her up, placing her on the table, making sure her neck wouldn't strain because of the height difference.
She gasped at the sudden movement but gave a soft, approving hum.
Vedang pressed open-mouthed kisses along her jawline, making her fist his shirt tighter.
Then, their lips met again, more urgently this time.
Iraa was the first to pull back, her breath coming in short, heavy bursts, her lips still hovering near his.
She bit her bottom lip, cheeks flushed, her forehead resting against his.
Her eyes flickered down to his lips before meeting his gaze again. Vedang's heart raced faster than it ever had.
There was something about the way she looked at him-like he was the only thing in the world that mattered.
It sent a rush of emotions through him, emotions he wasn't used to feeling.
His hand slowly reached up, tracing her jawline with his fingers, brushing away a few stray strands of hair.
He tilted her chin up slightly, and then softly kissed her right cheek, then her left, and finally, her nose.
Iraa giggled softly, her arms still around his neck.
"What are you doing?" she asked, her voice playful but breathless.
