Kayden's POV
Ceiling in this place was so cool.
There was enormous chandelier hanging. It looked like it was made of tears. I got extremely good look at it as I was lying down exactly under it.
Ceiling wasn't as plain as all other ceilings. It was weird shaped.
I want that ceiling.
It was quite hot there.
I was basically soaked with my sweat...or blood. I don't know anymore.
I bursted out of laughter as I felt pain radiating from my stomach.
They were so weak.
Well not as weak as those two human monkeys but very close.
And they should be professionals? Pathetic.
I jumped on my feet laughing and wiping off the blood from my nose.
Four very big Ultrrians were staring at me angrily. Their muscles were bulging under their thin shirts without sleeves. They must've worn it on purpose to show off their tattoos. How did they get them anyway? I tried a few times and failed.
One of them growled and launched at me. I didn't move as I was curious what he will do.
Just as I expected it he went for my head connecting his enormous fist with my jaw.
I was kind of bored of being thrown all over the place and the crowd was probably thinking I was practically a dead Ultrrian, so I stayed put. Boulder-man who was way taller than me, widened his eyes seeing that his punch didn't make a big impact.
I moved my head on its place and shook my hair.
I felt my heart banging harshly in my chest.
I couldn't get enough air, but in a good way.
Blood was rushing spreading excitement all over my body.
It seemed like I could fly. I laughed once again and jumped up and down a few times.
"Bring it on", I whispered smirking.
Crowd was cheering different names, but only thing I could hear was my heartbeat.
They all launched at me in the same time thinking they could beat me. Who could blame them? They don't know who I am. If they knew they wouldn't fight.
I love adrenalin. It makes me feel awake and alive. That feeling doesn't come easy to me so...sometimes... I do stupid things for it. I'm a bit of suicide boy, if you know what I mean.
"No mercy", I added and winked.
Just as the fun was about to begin I heard someone scream "guards".
I frowned and sighed annoyed feeling my mood falling from 100 to 0 in a second.
Nice timing Adrian, really nice.
Crowd and those di*kheads were gone before you could blink leaving me alone in big hall.
Door bursted open and Adrian stepped in. I gave him a death stare and crossed my arms on my chest.
"Dude - not a good timing. I was just about to kick their asses", I whined.
"Firstly, you should've been in palace two hours ago to greet our uncle Vaughn", Adrian said raising one finger, then he raised second one continuing his lecture, "Secondly, those fight clubs of yours are illegal. Thirdly your mother is making a scene, again. And lastly, I've been looking for you for the whole day and I died of boredom listening to Kael and Vaughn blabbing about disobedience inside of regions and pros and cons of integration program. So thank you for that, bratu"
"Firstly, I didn't want to go, because Vaughn is a pain in the ass. At least he was. Secondly, you didn't seem to have a problem with illegal this morning when you unleashed your anger in fight. Thirdly, when did you see her behaving like a normal person? And lastly, I'm really sorry, but I dogged a bullet there, bro", I said mimicking him.
"Real friend, aren't you?" Adrian said as he took a seat on the floor by the wall. I sat next to him laughing and took out my cigarettes and I lighter. Something was wrong with him.
"We're tied by blood, so you can't really get rid of me", I said offering him cigarette. He gave me annoyed look. I knew he hated cigarettes, I just liked to irritate him and challenge his patience, but it didn't seem to have an effect on him. Not today anyway.
"That is pointless poison", he said... more like questioned.
"Well, that is the point", I said nonchalantly.
He seemed like he is weighing his options. I knew he's going to give in some day.
"Yeah, whatever", he said taking one and lighted it.
I smirked. One of my goals completed.
"Now tell me what happened in school today and are you still upset about it", I said looking at that ceiling once again. I swear, sometimes I feel like a therapist.
Adrian coughed a few times and laughed.
"Does it have anything with Rosemarie?" I questioned further. He thought I didn't notice two of them sneaking around and making out. I wasn't stupid nor was I blind. That thing between them was interesting until it started to affect Adrian. He would never admit it but he cared for that human girl.
"Maybe", he answered.
"Were you jealous?" I asked trying not to laugh.
"Maybe"
I frowned.
"What are you doing, bratu?"
"I don't know", he said and chuckled.
"This is very important and I need you to answer me truthfully, okay?" I asked and when he nodded I continued, "What are you doing with that girl?"
Adrian raised his head and started looking at the ceiling.
Ceiling was intriguing indeed. It wasn't white like others, it was colorful and it had a lot of creatures painted there. Why would someone paint kids with wings on the ceiling? They make human bird chimeras and paint them all over the ceiling and then they say I'm crazy.
"I feel good when I'm with her", Adrian said finally.
What were we talking about? Oh, yes...
I sighed and put that cigarette on my lips. He has no idea what is getting himself into.
"How good?"
"It doesn't matter now", he said dismissively. He always ran from his problems. It was so typical for him.
"Did you hear about love?" I asked him.
"Yeah"
"It is real. Don't let it happen to you", I warned him. To better effect I looked at him seriously, desperately trying to hold my serious face.
He stopped looking at the ceiling and moved his look to me.
"I am serious", I tried to persuade him with slight smile trying to break out. But I was serious. I saw it. It is sneaky, evil and it lurks around you trying to convince you that it is nothing but then it jumps you and eats you alive. That is love and my brother was about fall for its tricks.
"I can see", he said also trying to hold his serious face. As if on cue, we bursted out of laughing. Entire hall echoed with our loud laughter.
"Those aren't ordinary cigarettes, are they?" Adrian asked in between his laughs.
"Nope"
Unknown POV
My plan was beginning. Tomorrow we are making our first move, finally.
Our two races living together, pff, there is no way. I would rather die than live with those animals.
They think they are smarter than us, but they aren't. There will be no peace till we make them disappear. First thing that was on our way was that ridiculous integration program. We needed to express our disapproval of our people living with theirs.
They made experiment, and we will show them that this experiment can't go well. We just cannot let our kids get any closer with theirs. That is why we are making our stand tomorrow and every time we stand everyone else will be on their knees.
