Chapter 38: Kayden's story: Part 3

Alien Invading My HeartWords: 12191

I really enjoyed writing this...so I would like to hear what do you think?

Five years went by slowly.

Kayden wouldn't know that it was that long if they didn't tell him. It seemed much more than that. Every second in that room seemed like an eternity; painfully slow, never-ending, excruciating perpetuity.

He wished to be dead a long time ago. He even tried to make it happen.

Didn't work.

Obviously.

Last thing he remembers, before all this, were those words - Kill 'em.

Was his father still alive? He had no idea. He hadn't seen anyone except that bald man and the crone. Well, she wasn't actually a crone, but Kayden liked to think that she was an old witch that somehow made herself not look like the devil she in fact is. The very thought of the two of them made him nauseous. He hated them from the bottom of his soul.

When he woke up five years ago in this room he thought he had dreamed all of that, but soon it turned out that he was now living in a nightmare.

He called for anyone then. He just didn't want to be alone.

Mistake.

When the door finally opened, there stood three men in white. He could only see their lifeless eyes. He tried to explain to them he had to see his father and Bay, but they wouldn't listen. He feared they were some kind of robots. Their eyes did not have the glow of life and their hearts did not hear pleads of a child. What else could've they been. Humans were not supposed to be like that...at least he thought so.

They took him and dragged him outside. He struggled, but they had injected him with something.

He didn't faint and he could feel pain, only thing he couldn't do - is move.

Most definitely, worst feeling ever.

The helplessness wasn't the worst part, though. As his legs were scraping immaculate white floor in the tight hallway, his mind was wondering about his current situation. He just couldn't understand what was happening. What did they want from him?

They had dragged him to the big door leading in the white room with some kind of vertical table in the middle. It looked like it was made of his worst fears.

Now, it was much worse, but whatever.

They put him there and tided his hands, legs and neck. He learned that when they tie down his neck it is going to hurt really, really bad.

He wanted to scream hoping someone was going to hear him, but it was in vain. He couldn't even blink. The cold metal carved his wrists and the smell of chemicals made his head hurt.

The door beeped after some time and the doctor came in with a smile on her face. When he thinks of it now, it was quite deranged.

He actually thought in that moment that she was going to help him. For a few wonderful but short seconds he had hope. She didn't look like she wanted to hurt him. Her eyes, though, they spoke of another story he did not know how to read then.

She came closer and he got ready to be freed, but no... she took a knife from the table beside him and first cut his shirt. He was so confused then.

He wanted to ask her what she was doing, but he couldn't. He couldn't do a thing – just watch...and feel.

She got up, turned the camera on and looked straight at it.

"Patient no. 16 – young boy, probably 12 years old. Seems healthy and intelligent. It is...erm", she said looking at the clock on her hand, "12:43, day 1, experiment no. 1. We'll see how he bleeds"

Kayden widened his eyes. He had to run. They were going to kill him. The panic made his heart speed up, but still...nothing. His muscles weren't listening. They were going to kill him and he couldn't do a thing.

Well, now, he wished they did. That experiment no. 1 was nothing comparing to what he's went through, but it, indeed, was the scariest one.

Woman came closer and took that knife again.

"First, we are making a vertical cut on his arm, then chest and in the end stomach"

He wanted to beg, he wanted to cry, but he just watched with distraught eyes. She pretended she doesn't see him.

"Please", he succeeded to mumble. She looked up to his face and then just back at the knife. He repeated. Still nothing. He tried to move. Nope. He couldn't run and he couldn't fight. He was helpless and he was in her mercy. Too bad she had none.

She laid the knife on his forearm and put on some pressure. It went through his skin and she just kept cutting. He wanted to hold in the scream, but he couldn't. It hurt so bed.

Blood started sliding down his arm and cold sweat down his forehead.

He pleaded her to stop, but she didn't.

She never does.

Crone.

After that she said something into that camera and left. He was in so much pain he fainted.

Again he woke up in that white room with no bed nor anything else besides a hole in one corner.

He looked at his wounds. They were healed.

For days he just ate and slept. Nothing else. And then they took him in that other room again. This time they were exploring his eyes.

With a scalpel.

While he was awake.

Also they brought some device to prevent him from closing his eyes.

That's one hell of a scary machine.

So...yes - nice experience.

When they were done they took him back to his room.

He couldn't see for a few days and he was lonely. He didn't like being alone then. Now he learned to love it.

Again, after some time they took him back there and did awful things not just to his body, but to his mind. They liked to play with it while he was hooked onto a machine with thousand wires just to see how it works.

After a year of two he learned to appreciate the time they gave him to rest.

Now, five years from the day he came and eleven years since he last saw Ultrron, he was just a shadow of a person.

Pain didn't bother him anymore; he felt nothing...but hate.

Once they ripped him open, so he could see what was inside him. Not a nice sight.

Once they experimented with electricity.

Once they skinned his leg to see how it heals.

Once they took one big needle and drove it in his hip through bone to get his bone marrow.

They took everything that can be taken and they experimented with everything that can be experimented with.

They broke his body and they broke his mind.

Still every night he would dream of Ultrron, his family and Bay. He hoped they were dead and not in here.

Also every morning he would wake up wishing he was dead.

Today is the third day since last experiment. It was a mental one so he should expect them to come and get him any time now.

Just as he thought that, the door opened and those three came in.

"Boys, hello, nice to see you", Kayden said. Three of them rolled their eyes.

"Come, don't make us needle you", one of them said.

"Cal, chill I'm going. You can roll your eyes now, Boby"

"These are not our names, how many times do I have to say that", third one said.

"You're just jealous because I didn't name you", Kayden retorted. A bit of interaction with the living breathing creatures was pleasant for him in some weird way, even though he wasn't sure yet that they weren't robots.

"Walk", Cal said threatening him with a needle.

Kayden raised his arms in surrender and started walking. He was curious of what they'll do to him today.

He liked body experiments better. They were easier.

They walked through that same hall for the millionth time and opened that door.

He walked in casually and leaned on the table. It looked much bigger before.

They tied him and left.

Mrs. Crone came not long after with her brown hair tied into ponytail. Glasses were slowly sliding down her nose as she sat in front of camera ignoring him.

"You know, you could wash your hair sometimes. It won't kill you", Kayden said "Or at least I think it won't... although it wouldn't be that bad if it did"

"Patient no. 16 – young man, approximately 17 years old. Healthy and sane...in most cases. Still thinks he's funny. It is 10:27 PM, day 1781, experiment no. 445. We'll see if we can make him understand he's not funny", she said and stood up.

"May I say something?" Kayden asked.

"No"

"I will say it anyway", he looked deep in her eyes, "You're such a bitch Jackie and if I ever get out of this place I will rip your throat out"

He said it completely emotionless mimicking her fake smile.

She nodded and knocked at the door. Well, that's a new one.

Door opened and he expected some monstrous machine to show up. Nothing could surprise him anymore, except this.

At the door stood a young, attractive woman – probably a few years older than him. Long brown curls fell down hear feminine curves in a tight white dress. What the hell are they planning?

"He's hot", she said, "Why do you always get the hot ones, Hunter?"

"You want him? Take him. I will gladly change him for the girl", the crone said.

Girl? Could it be Bay? What did they do her?

"What girl?" Kayden asked. For the first time in a long time he felt something, he felt the tug in his heart – he felt fear.

"Even his voice is hot", woman whined.

"I asked what girl?" Kayden repeated getting a bit edgy.

"He's funny", woman said.

"No, he really isn't"

Kayden felt his heartbeat rising. He was getting angry. Not good.

"Where is she?" he growled.

Women started laughing. It irritated him even more.

"You really want to know? Well..." she turned back and nodded to someone, "here she is"

Little girl, about six years old, with shining eyes like his, walked to him. He couldn't believe it. She's actually here. As he watched her, all of the anger and fear faded away. Small arms, her mother's pink cheeks and... how he loved to see those shining eyes.

"Bay?" he croaked.

She looked at him not recognizing anything about that new person. She didn't even recognize her own name. Only thing that was clear to her is the feeling of being safe with him.

"You remember me?" he asked with a smile. He wanted to hold her but he couldn't move.

She shook her head but took a step closer to him.

"You're like me", she said in small voice. He smiled sadly. Poor girl. This is all she ever saw. He wanted to show her the world; he wanted to show her the Ultrron.

"Okay, that's enough", the crone said.

He looked at her confused. Was this the test? He hoped so, but deep down he knew it wasn't over.

"Do it", she said to other woman.

"Do what?" he asked. Ignore.

"Do what!?"

The other woman took a step towards Bay. She quickly took a knife from the table and slit Bay's throat. Blood seeped from the cut as she gurgled trying to catch the breath. She fell on her knees with her hands on her throat. Desperation in her eyes begged for his help – the help he wasn't able to give.

Girl fell down with her eyes opened looking into nothingness. A minute later they stopped shining and turned completely white. Her simple white dress was soaked with blood that was still flowing down her white little neck creating a little red puddle.

Kayden looked at her blankly. He just couldn't process what just happened. Was it a dream? A stimulation?

"It's real" that crone said as if she read his mind. He felt something glide down his cheek. What have they done?

The dangerous heat started spreading through his body as his breathing speeded. What have they done?

He turned his head to her. Then he saw something he thought he will never see; fear.

He clenched his fists and his jaw.

She took everything from him. She was killing him from the inside and the outside for freaking five years. And still, he had no idea what the word hate meant till that moment. He was boiling with anger and thirst for blood, her blood.

"Lanely... call the guards", she said.

Kayden directed all that anger into breaking metal cuffs and a second later he did it. He broke free. The once so dangerous restrainers were shredded to pieces,

Just as he'd done that, red light appeared. It was probably because of him walking freely.

Lanely heard something in her earphone and widened her eyes.

"They aren't coming", she said.

"What!? Call them now!"

"You don't understand... they came, we don't have a lot of time"

"Who came?"

"His people", Lanely said glancing at angry beast in front of her. She knew it was the end of her. Even if she did somehow succeed to run away, she couldn't possibly live through the fight that was happening on the outside right now.

Aliens were going to win, but not without losses.

Both women started at Kayden approaching them slowly.

"Run", he whispered.
