Ra(glares)- dont u dare shaurya....(he eyes him towards pallavi whose condition was worse bcz of crying so much. Shaurya nods)
Rajat takes sia inside the room closing the door behind him. He was with an intern. He places sia on bed.
Ra(to intern)- iv set ready krke lao. (he makes sia sit with his support and forwards her neck lightly and slowly) fuckkk stiff neck....Dr Kabir we need to get a blood work done and lumbar puncture too.
Dr kabir hangs iv set on stand and nods.
Dr- yes sir abhi...
Ra- leave it call dr shaurya and dr guru now. He must be out of OT.
Dr- bt sir me krta hun na.
Ra(glares)- jitna kaha jaye utna karo. Mri bcchi koi guinea pig nhi h aayi smjh jo aik intern uspr experiments krega. Do what i said RIGHT NOW.
Dr Kabir flinches and immidiately runs out. After sometime shaurya with one other dr comes in.
S- papa how is she?
Ra- get her CBC and protein test done then we will go for lumbar puncture.
Dr/S(shouts)- lumbar puncture.....
Dr- bde bhaiya kya hua h?
Ra(harshly gulps)- s..she have all the symptoms of....
S(teary eyes)- papa...
Ra(closes his eyes)- yes she have all symptoms of bacterial meningitis....
Shaurya looks other side and his starts starts falling and Rajat was looking like he was at loss of words.
Dr- shitttt....she is that angel na jise u gonna adopt? (rajat nods controlling himself) aap thik ho? kr paoge ye case?
Ra(harshly)- jaa yahan se bahar...jake pallavi ko dekh she must be crying badly.
Dr(gulps)- th...thik h jata hun bhadak kyu rhe ho....
Ra(rubs his eyes with pointer finger)- jaa dekh usko me dekh lunga yahan. Shaurya bhi h na.
Dr(nods)- dont take stress bde bhaiya we all trust u ok.
Rajat nods and takes cannula in his shivering hands taking deep breath.
S- papa aap rhne do lao me krta hun.
Rajat too wasnt in condition to do it so he agrees and sits with sia on bed caressing her hairs. Shaurya takes canula and very gently inserts it in sia's soft fluffy hand then pulls needly out leaving soft plastic catheter inside and taps it properly.
Ra- abhi iv connect nhi krna fir we will do l...lumbar puncture. (Shaurya looks at him with teary eyes bt he looks away when rajat looks at him) m...mujhse b..bhi nhi hoga i cant....
S- n..no papa u have to do this m..mein nhi kr skta...mujhse bhi nhi hoga pls...
Ra- u will do it dr shaurya and its ur senior's orders thats it.
S- papa...p..please....
Rajat looks away making him sighs and he nods defeated.
S- mein sara samaan mngwata hun.
Ra(whispers in sia's ears)- i m extremely sry beta...papa is sry pls forgive me.
Bt sia was lying there without any movement breaking his heart even more. He wipes the lone tear that escaped from his left eye. After some minutes dr kabir comes back bringing all necessary stuff for the lumbar puncture. Rajat had already changes sia in short gown. He picks her up and sets her in fetal position. Shaurya sets everything on side table and arranged a clean cloth under sia's lower body then with shivering hands opens her gown from lower side so that some part of her back was exposed. He traces her spine and marks a point.
Ra- aise kanpte hathon se bilkul nhi krega tu....
Shaurya takes a deep breath and nods.
S- anaesthesia dena h kya?
Ra- ye ksa question hua? Ofc dena h use pain nhi hoga kya han....dimag bechke aaya h apna tu?
S- uski halat dekho do u think she can feel anything? Dena na dena barabar hi hua iske liye.
Ra- wo sb mujhe nhi pta lekin mein apni beti ko bilkul drd me nhi dekhna chahta. Give her LA.(Shaurya sighs and nods then quickly prepares anaesthesia shot) slowly...pain na ho use jyada already she is in so much pain. (Shaurya sadly looks at her face bt shakes his head to distract himself from falling weak. He wipes a site near the lumbar vertebrae and gently inserts the needle. Sia whines softly in sleep making rajat immidiately pat her head) she is in pain shaurya...slowly i said.
S- hn papa bohot dhire hi kr rha hun dekho. Wse ye accha hua anaesthesia de diya. She can feel the pinch.
Ra(shrugs)- i already told u isliye bolte hain baap baap hota h.
S- plsss abhi dantna nhi shuru krna aap ab....(he looks busy in procedure)
Ra- agr dhang se nhi kiya toh maar bhi kha skta h.
Shaurya makes faces and spreads a clean cloth on her back which has hole just above the marked point. Rajat hissed when he looks her back had dark brown antiseptic cleaner. He knew what's the worst part which is gonna happen now.
S- papa aap bahar chle jao wse bhi mra kaam h mein kr lunga bs chachu ko bhej dena.
Rajat shakes his head and sits near sia holding her tightly. Shaurya shakes his head in disbelief bt gulps seeing thick needle. He with shaky hands picks it up and for the first time in his life he was getting scared seeing this needle. His heart started beating fast and hand was shaking non-stop. He puts his forehead on her bed and starts sobbing.
S- i..i dont think i can do this papa pls....i..itni mushkil se toh aik behen mili h...papa why....hmare sath hi kyu han...why ur mahadev dont love us? Every damn time he tests us with a daughter sister or wife...whyyyyy.....(shouts) kya mil gya aapko itni bhakti krke? (points at sia) ye...ye mila aapko....(he was badly sobbing now)
Ra(pats his back)- iske pichhe bhi unka ek bohot bda cause h beta. He wanted to ensure whether we r strong enough to protect her or not. Betiyan bhgwan aise hi kisi ko nhi deta. Sirf unhi ko deta h jo unhe smbhalne ke capable hon. He knws what's the best for everyone.

Ra- aisi situation me ye dekhne ke liye ki kahin hm toh kmjor nhi pd rhe? I knw mein bhi emotional hogya hun lekin ye time aise weak hone ka nhi h. We have to fight even with this fucking disease and we will shaurya.
S- mujhse nhi ho rha papa...mu..mujhse nhi ho rha....(saying this he gets up wiping his tears)
Ra- accha tell me one thing that day when u forced tinkal to inject that kid. What was ur motive?
S- papa wo bccha mra bhai ya behen nhi tha. Mujhe wahan thoda strict hona pda bt yahan toh mri behen h na...(his voice was breaking with each words) kse usko jaan ke pain de dun? I m emotionally attached with her.

Shaurya rushed outside without answering him and after few seconds that other dr (guru) came.
G- what happen aur iske chahre pr aise 12 kyu bje hue the?

Rajat shakes his head and points back at him.

Rajat sits with sia again and like previously starts caressing her head glaring him.
Ra- tu nhi krega tb bhi pitega aur agr kuchh glt kia tb bhi so decision is urs now.
G(mutters)- bhgwan jane kis ghadi me dr bnne ki sochi thi....aur mujhe marne ke liye bhi idhar hi aana tha...accha khasa australia me settled tha wahan ki nationality thi bt nhi....mujhe toh marna tha na mar ab tu guru yahin mar...tri yhi aukat h...
Ra- badbadana bnd krke hath chlayega toh jyada accha hoga tri haddiyon ke liye hi aur abhi anasthesia bhi diya h uska effect khtm nhi hona chahiye wrna maar double.
Guru rolls his eyes and wears gloves after sanitising his hands properly then he takes the needle.
G- hold her properly shyd use thoda discomfort feel ho...
Ra(rolls his eyes)- pta h mujhe mt sikha...pkda hua h already mne usko. Anasthesia ka effect khtm hone se phle khtm kr it will be less painfull.
G- hmm kr rha hun.
He puts his one hand on her upper back and very slowly inserts that thick needle inside lumbar vertebrae. Sia gasps loudly and her tears started coming out of her closed eyes.
Ra(shouts)- slow nhi kr skta han.....
G(startles)- b..bhaiya bohot dhire hi kiya tha.....(mutters) ek toh ye aikdum itne bhadak kyu jate hain....
Ra- bakwas mt kr jldi se fluid nikal and end this shit.
Guru nods and enters a thin needle in bone from the hollow part and removes thick needle making sia again flinch badly.
Ra(grits his teeth)- mar jaega mre hathon se bta rha hun me...
G- sry sry hogya bs...
He takes test tube and puts it under needle end from where fluid was coming out. Guru after the procedure takes out needle and presses a fistful of cotton on wound. Rajat makes sia lay down in side posture and sets pillows near her back.
Ra- i m connecting NS jb tk draw some blood for protein and CBC.
Guru takes empty syringe and another test tube then collects sia's blood and calls a nurse to give all the samples in lab. Rajat attached normal saline and injects painkiller in her IV.
Ra(looking at sia's face)- guru life me first time i m wishing ki mri soch glt ho kashh...
G- being a father i can understand bhaiya how u must be feeling right now lekin situation hi aisi h koi kuchh nhi kr skta.
Ra(monotone voice)- me pallavi ko dekh lu zra.
G- hn pls bura haal ho rha h uska ro rokr aur bhaiya aap bhi pls tension mt lo jo bhi hoga thik hi hoga wrna hm sb milkr thik kr denge.
Rajat nods and went outside only to see pallavi crying badly in shaurya's arms.
Ra(holds her upper arm and makes her stand)- kya problem h? kyu ro rhi ho han?
Pa- rajat wo...sia...sia ...rajat....

Ra(forcefully hugs her)- shhh shant she is fine pallavi suna na she is fine...
Pa(shakes her head)- ek baar mil lene do plsss bas ek baar dekhlun fir jid nhi krungi.
Ra- abhi wo rest kr ri h pallavi jb uth jaegi tb mil lena.
Pa- nhi mein aise hi dekh lungi bs use toh mujhe shanti mil jaegi. Mra jee betha jaa rha h rajat bs ek baar pls...
Ra(looses his control)- chup bilkul chup...ek baar ki baat nhi smjh aati na..bola ki she is sleeping. Baat nhi kr skti h wo abhi toh zid ka kya fayda han...ye aise ro roke bp hi badhana h na apna or kya hoga isse? Tum bhi uske sath hi bethi hui hongi bt dusre room me aayi smjh.
Pa- tum mujhse jhuth bol rhe ho nhi h mri beti thik....maa hun uski mehsus kr skti hun mein. Kitna jhuth bolrhe rajat....har baar u do this. (she starts crying very badly)
Rajat nods angrily drags her to the room where sia was.
Ra- see kholo aankhein dekho usko...wo baat kr rhi h toh kro...kyu apni harkaton se uski jaan ki dushman bn rhi ho han? Samjhaya ki she is in pain isliye usko painkillers diye hain. Usko bacterial meningitis hone ki possibility lg ri h....Usko zra se germs se na ICU me pahuncha dogi dekh skogi usko wahan? Btao ab why r u not saying anything why r u standing numb bolo kuchh....(Pallavi was too numb to react anything. She stumbles at her place and dark dots start coming in front of her eyes. Rajat pulls her closer) see i knew....
He said as he pulls her sleeping body in his arms. Rajat takes her outside on benches and made her sit with him on her side. Shaurya immidiately sprinkles water on her face. Pallavi looks here and there then stares at all of them.
Pa- si..sia?
Ra- she is up bt she is under observation now. Usko bacterial infection spread na hojaye isliye u cant meet her for now.
Pa- what bacterial infection?
S- mumma papa ne abhi....
Ra- pta nhi h na jab hi toh test kiye hain and shaurya usne mujhse puchha h na...(glares him)
Shaurya mumbles sry and steps back.
Pa- rajat dont lie ok sach sach btana...
Ra- me jhuth kyu bolunga ofc i m telling truth otherwise ask guru abhi usne hi sample bhijwaye hain lab me.

G- hn bde bhaiya is right. Abhi pta nhi h kya hua h isliye kuchh tests kiye hain. Results kl tk aayenge.
Ra- see tum aiwayi shak krti ho...chlo ab ghr jao shaurya ke sath. Mein aur guru hain yahan sia ke sath.
S- m..me nhi jaa rha papa i will also stay here.
Pa- hn me bhi...aise kse chhod ke chli jaun usko...
Ra- aur tum yahan bahar bethe kya kr logi? Mri baat mano aur ghr jao. Kl subah hote hi aa jana na and shaurya (glares him) koi problem h tujhe ghr jane me?
S- papa...wo hath kaam nhi kr rha toh drive kse krunga?
He pointed at his hand and rajat slaps his back.
Ra- jhuth mt bol abhi toh tune apni maa ke muh pr pani dala h iss hath se aur ab jhuth bol rha h han....
Pa- ye chala bhi jae toh me nhi jaungi rajat.
Ra(sternly)- pallavi kbhi toh baat suno...me driver ko bula deta hun. Tum dono jaa rhe ho and its final...
Pa(shouts)- mana kia na nhi jaa rhi mtlb nhi jaa rhi smjhne me dikkt h kya han....
Ra(palms his face)- already i have headache now dont dance on my head aayi smjh...bethna h na idhar bethi rho aur badhao apna bp wse bhi aata hi kya h aur tumhe.
Pa- nhi jaa rhi me ghr i m going inside (she tries to run inside sia's room)
Ra(immidiately holds her from her waist)- JUST SHUT UP ITS ENOUGH NOW.....
Pa- me toh jaungi rok skte ho toh roko mujhe ab...
Rajat who had enough drags her to another room and throws her on bed softly holding her there.
Ra(dangerously)- dont try to instigate me already bohot khopdi ghumi hui h...kya ho jaega mujhse mein bhi nhi janta...
Shaurya and guru too came inside running cluttered.
S- papa me smjhata hun na aap sia ke paas jao.
Ra- u better do it fast within 30 mins i want corridor empty.
G- hn bde bhaiya isko hm dono smjha denge aap jao aur ghr call krdi thi mne rakshit aur shivu aa rhe hain abhi akki ke sath. Dev aur tinkal aur rudy ko disturb krna thik nhi lga mujhe.
Rajat nods and left from there after warning pallavi throgh his eyes. Shaurya holds pallavi closer to him who was ready to dash outside any moment.
Pa(glaring him)- i wont go anywhere shaurya aur try bhi mt kriyo wrna pit jaega tu mujhse.
G- maar le bt bahar nhi jaegi tu..
S- mumma pls smjhne ka try kro na papa abhi bohot gusse me hain. Aap kyu unko aur gussa dila rhi ho?
Pa- tum sb darte honge uski faltu dhamkiyon se mein nhi darti smjhe...ab hato yahan se...
G- she wont listen like this. Ek kaam kr rassi lekar aa yahin bandh dete hain.
Ra(harshly)- shaurya isko nind ka injection de...
G- bhaiya kya hogya h? Aap jao na we will handle her.
Ra- i can see how u r handling her. Shaurya go and bring sleeping medicine. She wont listen like this. Bohot jyada jiddi h ye...
Pa(loudly)- me nhi darti tumse smjhe...
Ra- tumhare ek toh alg hi drame hain....shaurya suna nhi tune jaa lekar aa...
Pa- shaurya yaad rkhiyo agr tu gya toh...
Ra- toh me jaunga.
Pa- hn jao na tumse yahan rhne ki bola bhi kisne h...go shooo...
G- mt kr sach me thok denge aaj...
Rajat now came closer to her and sat with his one knee folded on bed and took her face in his palms.
Ra- nhi kro na pls kyu tang kr rhi ho mujhe? Mujhme aur nhi h himmt thak gya hun yrr i swear. Soya bhi nhi hun aur aaj toh back to back surgeries bhi thi toh back me bhi drd h bohot. Nahi smjhogi mujhe na?
Pa- mujhe tum har baar aise hi manipulate krte ho (she starts hicupping while crying badly in his arms)
Ra(rubs her back)- abhi under observation h wo isliye mna kr rha hun pls sun lo aur dekho yahan rhekr bhi kya krogi tum btao....
Pa- bt me ghr nhi jaungi pls rajat nhi jaa rhi uske room me pls me yhi rhungi bt ghr nhi jaungi.
Ra(sighs)- fine jao mre cabin me aaram kro.
Pa(hysteric)- m...me wahan bahr...ben....benches pr beth jaun kya? Me nhi jaa rhi ghr sia ko aankhon se dur nhi krna na....
Ra- yahan samne rhogi toh pareshan hoti rhogi aur bp badh gya toh aur problem ho jaegi isliye hi bol rha hun mein baki tumhari marji.
Pa- nhi me yhin pe rhungi kuchh nhi hoga.
He nods and left from there. Shaurya sits on bed with pallavi and hugs her tightly. It took only a moment for both mother son duo to cry out loud.
