Feng silently moved to the side, holding her hand together

“Feng..” Ethan gently tugged at her hand.

He silently held her hand, not letting go.

Holding his hand felt soothing and calming. Somehow she got her act together, putting on a smile on her face.

Just as the second dance music started, Elle came bouldering to her and hugged her waist. “Meimei, dance with me,”

“I....” she just took her hand and kissed it. “I don’t think i...”

“The music has started. Let’s go,” she tugged her over to the dance floor.

Feng went along with it. This time the dance was not that difficult. Most of them danced around in freestyle however they wanted to.

Elle, the bundle of joy she is, just hopped around her, twirling her beautiful pale skirt. The small gems on the shimmered brighter under the magic lights.

“come on Meimei dance!” she happily chuckled tugged at her hand once again.

Just that gesture alone got her out of the depressed state. ‘fuck that system. I will enjoy my life as I want. When it fully awakened, I will just deal with it,’

She pulled up her skirt and started to happily hop around.

Watching them from the crowd, Ethan smiled softly. {‘Aiden... that thing that was bothering Feng is back,’}

{‘how do you know?’} he telepathically sent out a thought.

{‘I just do.... what are we going to do about it?’}

{‘I don’t know..... that thing is otherwordly. Maybe we can request the help of a mage.’} Aiden looked at him hopefully.

Ethan glared at him, shaking his head. {‘are you hearing yourself? telling is mage is just like sighing a death sentence for her. they will experiment on her with dangerous spells. Let’s wait a bit. I will find a solution,’}

{‘how? We have no resources. Even our magic library is no more,’} Aiden whispered.

When they were great mages of the past, they travelled all over the world collecting as many magic books as they could. It held a vast variety of knowledge in it.

But now they were left with nothing to refer to. They were not even sure what Feng’s ailment was.

{‘I know where we can get the knowledge we need,’} Ethan said that and briskly walked towards the duke and duchess.

{‘finish your sentence? Where? Hey...’} Aiden ran after him.

Ethan stopped before the duke and peered at him directly in his eyes. “Will you send us to magic school? We want to learn. Plus Feng has also awakened. We will go with her,”

The pair just looked at each other.

The duchess especially looked crestfallen at his declaration. “I... we will send you if you want... if that’s what you wish....”

Ethan smiled widely and held her hand. “Thank you,”

The duchess Perlin gasped. She leaned down and hugged him tightly. “That was a real smile. Oh my god, you smiled at me...” she lifted him high and hugged him close.

Ethan just shyly held her shoulders.

“I accept your request. The school only takes admissions after five months. I’ll make sure to get you all tested there for admissions,” the duke whispered, gently touching Aiden’s blond head.

Aiden just scooted away from his hands. “Don’t you have any special admissions?”

“Young men need to work hard to get what you want in your life. That begins after joining school. That prestigious school won’t just take anyone in. I hope you both are prepared for the test.”

{‘What test man...’} Aiden tugged at Ethan’s pant leg.

{‘Stupid, the entrance exam. We have to pass it to even get admitted into the school.’} he subtly kicked his hands away.

Aiden pouted, wiping his hands clean. {‘Won’t they just ask us to light up a testing crystal?’}

{‘No, that is for mediocre schools. This is THE magic academy we are talking about. They have five rounds of written and oral tests plus the testing crystal test,’}

{‘That’s it, I’m done for..’} Aiden slumped onto lady Perlin’s legs.

She held back a squeal, looking at her husband. “So cute,” she mouthed.

Duke just hugged her close. “Shall I make the announcement?”

Ethan instantly pulled anyway slightly and peered at lady Perlin. “No, not today. Today Feng’s introduction to society,”

“Oh, we don’t want anything to disrupt that, won’t we?”

Being talked down like a child, Ethan blushed red and nodded.

“How caring you boys are. Darling, we shall delay the big announcement a weak,” she gently touched Aiden’s head. “My heart is already content....”
