117 Chapter 117 – Meeting the weird man

A left turn and another right turn.. The corridor went on and on

Feng stood in the familiar yet unfamiliar corridor with a small frown. ‘ohh I fucked up. Why didn’t I accept that kind teacher’s help? This place is a maze for god’s sake...’

Even so, she walked and walked and walked... until her legs were sore and tired.

‘bad day to wear new shoes....’ Feng leaned against a wall and removed her brown leather shoes. The pair of shoes fit her small foot perfectly but that material was quite harsh on the back of her foot leaving behind a small blister.

She rolled up her long socks that came up to her knees down and wore them in a way that the socks protected the back of her foot from friction. Doing so it revealed her ankle from her pant legs.

A sudden thought came to mind.

Lady Hiliana had mentioned that she was a big girl now and that she should never reveal her ankles to anyone.

‘but isn’t that silly? I’ve seen Girls wearing tea-length skirts showing their legs all the time. What is wrong with showing a bit of their foot?’ she froze mid-thought. ‘oh I’ve never seen a lady wear short dresses. Maybe small skirts are only for girls.’

It had only been seven months in this world. she had yet to learn a lot of stuff about the etiquette and behaviors of the people in this time period.

Feng looked around. the hallways were empty. she then glanced at her pant legs. it came down to her ankles hiding most of her exposed skin ‘No one would ever know I’m showing my ankles.’

with renewed energy, she started to walk through the maze.

Going around a corner she suddenly saw a tall man with a weird-looking device in his hand. His long black hair was knotted and frizzed up. the man was mumbling something placing his ears to the ground. “This place might... ah! Young boy come here. hold this apparatus for me.”

Feng didn’t correct him nor approach this weird-looking man.

“Come boy quick.”

Feng thought about it for a second. ‘I can ask him to guide me out... and we are in school grounds. it’s safe I guess.’ she moved closer and held the weird-looking twisted tube.

The whole apparatus looked like a huge spiral made up of complicated glass tubes. There was a small chamber in the middle of the spiral that held a dull yellow color liquid.

“Who would have known! This place! this place has such wonderful emissions! If I can find a way to grasp the time energy spiritual particles, I can eventually make time travel possible for even a normal person,”

Hearing his mumble Feng was quite honestly shocked. “Time travel? This thing can do that?”

“yes! This is my amazing creation that could alter human history forever!”

This really grabbed her interest. she peered at the device. ‘This thing looks gimmicky...’ she tapped on the glass tubes slightly. “Does it work?”

“Not yet, but I will perfect it... soon. I hope.” the man lowered his head and laid on the ground simply sighing. “When will I perfect it? if I don’t get this working in a year, I will be chased out of here. I have no home, no money.. no family.. ...” he genuinely started to cry.

Feng just awkwardly stood there. “um I believe you will achieve your dreams. Just don’t give up yet. Who knows? In the future, you will be the great scientist who found time travel,”

the man’s head snapped back. Finally, she was able to get a good look at his face.

He looked about thirty or forty years old with a bit of stubble around his chin. His eyes, black as coal, were peering at her with an unknown look in them.

‘Wow he looks like a creep...’ she backed away a few steps and leaned the apparatus on the walls. “Nice seeing you, bye,”

“Wait, boy! Wait a bit,” the man garbed her hand.

Feng looked at his hand and at his face, stunned. ‘Can men hold another woman’s hand so nonchalantly? Where is the decency? This man is definitely a perv!’ she kicked his shin hard.

“Ahh!” the man let go of her arm and started to hop around like a Buffon.

“Perv, stop preying on young kids!” she took off into the complicated hallways.

“I’m not a perv.” He shouted behind her.

Feng did not even bother to look back. She hurriedly wiped the yellow paint-like marks that man had left behind on her wrist. While doing so she noticed something. The yellow liquid was actually glowing a slight sheen of gold.

A few small gold particles flew towards it making it shine like a glittering diamond bracelet.

“Shit!” she hurriedly rubbed the liquid away. Her palm was also stained yellow and it started to glow as well. “What is this? is it radioactive? Shit.... am I going to get cancer?”

“Oh my god!” that annoying man’s voice came from behind her.

Feng glanced back in shock. “What is this thing! Get it off of me!”

“no no! it’s reacting! It’s finally reacting!” the man ran to her.

Feng ran away.

It continued like a rat chase with that man running after her through the hallway crying that his work is a success.

“Lunatic pervert! Leave me alone!!!”

“Boy, you are a miracle worker. Just wait. Don’t run, come here,”

“No! why would I!” Feng glanced back and glared at him. “Pervert!”

Suddenly a hand grabbed her from the side and pulled her into a tight embrace.

“Let go!!! Let go.....mnnnnnn...” Feng’s screams were muffled by a small hand.

She finally glanced up.

Ethan was holding her. “Feng what’s wrong? Did that man do something to you?” he pulled her behind him and stood in attack position.

The weird man paused. “You both are students, right? I’ll accept you both. now quickly, golden boy, come here. I have to take a test sample of your hand and your blood maybe, even your skin,”

‘Is he talking about human testing.’ so many grotesque images came to her mind. she shivered subconsciously.

Feeling her shaken emotions, Ethan became much more vigilant. “You dare touch her. I will kill you, you old pervert!!”

The weird man sighed. “oh, the glow is getting dull. Boy, come here. quickly. before the glow leaves your body. I need samples,””

Feng glanced at her hand. as he had said the golden particles started to disperse right before her eyes shining like small fireflies. Soon her hands were left with only that weird yellow liquid.

“What did he do to you?” Ethan suddenly grabbed her hand. Her blue eye turned a vibrant shade and shone.

the empty hallways were suddenly filled with dark clouds. Thunder and lightning crackled like blasting fireworks.

Feng was more than shocked. ‘I thought he can only control the weather. But he actually created the clouds inside!!’ She grabbed onto Ethan’s hand. “We are in school!”

“I don’t care! How dare he! He wanted to hurt you!. I won’t spare even such thoughts to exist!”

huge blinding thunderbolt flashed down.

The man did not dodge nor move away. He looked up at the thunder astonishingly.

‘Oh no... if he gets hit he will die! We are in school it will cause a lot of trouble for lady Hiliana!’

“Ethan!!!! Stop!!!” Feng screamed hugging Ethan from behind.

The thunder bolt amazingly dispersed in just a few seconds.

Ethan turned over and hugged her. “Feng.. don’t be scared,” he gently patted her back.

Feng looked up at him with a small frown. “What you did was completely reckless. That man could have died!”

“He wouldn’t have.” Ethan said with a small smile. ‘But I would have maimed him for sure,’ he thought to himself. But he made sure to hide all his dark thoughts from Feng.

He relished holding her in his embrace.

It was not every day Feng would actually allow him to get this close.

He hugged her tightly. “... did he do something to you? did he touch you?”

“No just garbed my hand,” Feng assured him

“He grabbed your hand?!” Ethan held her hand delicately and hurriedly rubbed of the yellow liquid.

“hey hey,, you both. why are you guys overreacting? I just grabbed a boy’s hand. that’s all. boy I just need a sample of that liquid. I want nothing else...”

“a boy?” Ethan glared back at him. “You just grabbed the hand of lady Feng Rofles, daughter of Hiliana Rofles household. Rightfully your hand would be chopped for even touching a strand of her hair,”

“a girl?! Why is she dressed so.. so ludicrously? Her ankles are showing!!”

Feng was stunned for a second. ‘Does this dude have face blindness or what? I’m clearly a girl...’ she touched her jaws. ‘or do I have a manly face. I knew it.. its the jaws.. my strong jawline is making me look so masculine. Maybe is should have worn a dress...’

Feng grimaced. ‘Wow this got out of hand so quickly.’ She gently patted Ethan’s seething back. “it’s nothing. let’s go. Aiden and others would be waiting for us.”

“No, I have to deal with him. He actually had the galls to grab your hand and gawk at your ankles!”

“What is going on here?” a strong voice brought their argument to a stand still.

Feng glanced back. Alvin and his group of friends rushed over to them. “What happened, Feng? Ethan?”

“You did what?!” Alvin fumed.

‘Oh lord have mercy.... This is not the way I imagined my first day at school would be like.’ Feng sighed, massaging her brows.

Before things could get even more complicated, she stood in front of the weird-looking man. “Enough! we are going home! You, Ethan! You are overreacting! And Alvin please don’t get involved. It’s not a big deal.”

She then turned to the weird man. “I know you thought I was a boy but you chasing me around was super creepy. Don’t do that. you might one day get arrested as a pervert,”

The man scratched his untamed long hair. “I only want the sample liquid in your hand,”

“This?” she pointed to her palms.

“Yes,” he nodded excitedly.

She wiped her hand on her kerchief and held it out to him. “Here, you can do your testing with this right?”

“Yeah,” he hurriedly came forth to take it.

But Ethan plucked it out of her hand. “Why are you giving a pervert your kerchief? Wait.” He took out his kerchief. Carefully wiped clean the yellow liquid from her wrist and handed it to him. “You better stay away from her. Or I assure you.....”

“What? What will you do boy?”

“I.. I will ask my dad to deal with you,”

Feng glanced at him in shock. ‘He called duke Lineti his dad! Oh my god!’ she secretly cheered but on the outside, she maintained a calm fa?ade. “let’s not waste time here. Elle and Aiden would be waiting for us,”
