156 Chapter 156 â The trickster and the viper
Fiona was from a very rich merchant family but even though they made a ton of money they were still considered lower than the ones with a rank. when the crown prince himself came knocking on their door with a young girl in his tail everyone was shocked.
Prince requested for their youngest daughter, Fiona, to be friends with his close âfriendâ. he said that he was like a brother to Clarina.
Fiona herself had been shocked. Not by Clarian but because of the crown prince. He was so kind to everyone that she fell f him at first sight.
Even though her family had disagreed with this deal, Fiona really wanted to impress the prince she wanted to be close to him and let him fall in love slowly.
Fiona agreed to the deal and entered the school as Clarinaâs lackey.
What she didnât expect was that the woman who smiled kindly near the crown prince was a viper in real life. She decided to ignore that and do her job.
She stayed silent when Clarina did so many bad things and said bad things behind the lady of Roflesâs back. she even sometimes helped spread those rumors.
But what did she get in the end?
She looked at Clarinaâs innocent-looking eyes that were threatening her.
.....
If she didnât confess that she did it, Clarina will take down her family.
Her familyâs trade routes are in a perilous state already. And if the prince intervened their whole family could go bankrupt, or worse they could be beheaded for being caught in the problems.
Fiona gulped. âIf I agree that I bullied them then... I might lose my position in this school.â Years she worked hard for twelve years of developing her magic powers strong enough to be accepted.
In just a moment it all crumbled.
Tears formed in her eyes and she raised her hand. âIt was me. I did it. I poured dirty water over their cushion and wiped oil on their table.â She whispered biting her trembling bottom lip.
The principal looked at her curiously. âIs that so? So, there is no need to look into the memory crystal?â
Fiona shook her head. A single tear dripped do her face. âIâll accept the consequences of my actions. This was my act alone and no one else was involved in this. And the teacher too, she ...she came in at the wrong time and saw the wrong things. Iâm sorry for causing a lot of problems.â She lowered her head. tears dripped down onto her shoe, blurring her vision.
So, this is it.
This is how her dream of being a mage ended.
If anyone was expelled from the school of magic none of the other schools would accept them.
It was an unwritten rule.
Her whole future was lost because of some spoiled girlâs actions.
Fiona bit her lips until it bled. âmy prince.. would you help me... would you come to my aid...â if the prince can help her get into the school again like he did with Clarina it would be amazing.
But she knew..
She knew that he only thinks of her as a chess piece to be used.
Her use has come to an end.
Feng noticed her witness. âAre we going too far? I mean itâs just a soiled cushion.â
At first, she fought back to make an example for Clarina not to mess with her. but when an innocent, well not completely innocent person, got caught up in the web, she didnât want to proceed with his problem anymore. Her enemy is Clarina alone. the others are just side characters jumping around. They didnât have to take the fall for Clarina.
itâs not fair.
She tugged at Elle. âI donât think she did it.â
Elle nodded. âHer family is under the control of the crown prince. They might not escape if she doesnât take the blame.â
âc-can we help her?â Feng whispered softly.
Elleâs eyes shot up at her face and then she smiled brightly. âThis is why I like you Meimei. Your always have been so kindâ
âno Iâm not.. I just donât feel so good doing that to her. Her future would be ruined because of wet cushions. isnât that ironic? I donât want to carry that guilt with me. If this was Clarina in her position, I would have definitely let her take the fall. That girl deserves it, but that green-haired girl, not so much,â
Elle hugged her slightly. âBut the principal is involved Now, what can we do?â
âYeah?â Feng frowned deeply.
âYou can ask the twins for their help again. They can definitely stop the principal from going on a rampage.â Elle winked up at her.
âI know that but wonât the principal be angry? I mean we called him down here and now we are telling him to leave. He is a powerful person, anyone in his position is bound to get pissed off when treated like that,â Feng whispered anxiously.
Elle chuckled. âAll you have to do is one thing alone. Come hereâ she pulled Feng down and whispered something.
Fengâs whole face went up in flames. Her cheeks turned a bright shade of red as she glanced at Elle in shock. âYou... its impossible.
âI saw it in my future? There is no fighting it. if you want to stop this you might have to do it.â Elle giggled.
Feng gaped down at her. âWow you are very cunning.â
âI have to be. With my powers, I have to use them for some good right?â Elle pushed her towards Ethan and Aiden.
The boy glanced at her immediately. âAre you feeling dizzy again? Sit down Feng.â Aiden helped her sit down.
Elle gestured for Feng to go for it.
Sighing, Feng got close to Aidenâs ears and whispered what Elle had told him to.
Aidenâs face froze. He became expressionless looking down at her. âIâll do as you said. D-donât go back on the promise...â
Feng just blankly glanced up at him. âbut how are you going to stop Iâm.. the principal is angry and he...â
âIâve got it under control.â Aiden got close to the principal and tugged at his pants.
the old man glanced down with a bright smile. âWhat is it my dear munchkin are you hungry? Do you want me to get you snacks?â
âIâm bored and I want to visit your treasure trove can we?â
âYes, definitely you can choose anything you want.â He held Aidenâs hand and then gestured for Ethan. âAre you okay with leaving the issue as is?â
Ethan glanced at Feng.
Feng nodded. âPlease treat it as children playing around. No harm was caused. Things just escalated fast. we are sorry for disturbing you.â
âBut the matter about the teacherâs punishment has to be dealt with.â Ethan said resolutely.
âweâll then, you are dismissed.â The principal decided the fate of the teacher in one word.
The women shattered down to the ground. When she accepted to help the lowly peasant girls, she had thought she was doing good by protecting an innocent soul. All she had to do was keep the rich and mean people away. After all the peasant girl was an innocent flower.
But she didnât expect a small decision of hers caused a big issue.
She too was born into a peasant family but because of her magic talent and her impeccable manners, she had raised herself to this position. The nobles used to look down at her. But in this school she was the higher authority. She enjoyed making these high and poised young ladies of the family squirm around under her gaze.
She glanced at Feng Mei Rofles. She thought that this girl was like those innocent young girls but no. she was intelligent. She knew how to use her weakness to her benefits.
A trickster.
And principal ... the teacher glanced at the innocent blond girl who was sobbing and hugging her friend.
that girl was a poisonous viper hiding her venom under her tooth. She might look innocent but with one bite she took down people.
These two forces going against each other......
She could imagine how it was going to be in the future.
The whole high society is going to tremble under these two.
But she would not be a part of it.
She dazedly stood up. maybe it would be for the better to leave society early. It was going get dangerous to be in there. She could return back to her homeland and start a school to teach underprivileged girls.
With that in mind, she bowed to the principal and left the room.
The memory crystals were handed over to the twins to deal with.
The principal thought did not leave immediately. His curious gaze fell on Feng and then at Elle. âYou hold many secrets in our little mind, miss. can you tell me is the future good?â
Feng frowned gazing at Elle. âWhy is he asking her that?â
Elle smiled and shrugged. âIt might be or it might not be. You know the rules of as seer yourself principal. you canât reveal anything. There are things you hide too. Itâs always better to hide Things that can disrupt the whole world.â
The principalâs expression went stale for a second. he gazed at Elle. âYou are right. when the right moment comes the truth will unveil.â He held Aidenâs hand softly. âShall we go to my treasury now? You kids will love it,â
He left the classroom pulling a reluctant Ethan and Aiden.
Feng glanced at Elle. âWhat is he hiding?â
âSomething very important.â She smiled. âitâs nothing to do with us. Letâs just forget about it,â
