“We meet again, runt!” a gruff voice whispered next to her ear.

Eyes wide, glanced back.... but before she could take a look, this person dragged her back into the dark alley. “Let go!! Let go of me!! Ahhh help help!!!” she shouted loudly. She even tried to kick his shin, but the man was unfazed.

“Runt, there is no use shouting. I have created a shield around us,” the man maliciously laughed aloud.

Feng glanced around, trying to find something to defend herself. But she found nothing. The dark alley was deserted and there was not even a bit of trash there. ‘Fuck!!!’ she kicked her legs trying to pull out of his hold.

“You look like a proper lady when you are all dressed up. Did that family buy you? You must be some rich masters plaything,” he chuckled.

Feng cried loudly and tried to get out of hold, but the man kept tugging at her fluffy white coat.

“Stop struggling and come back where you belong!!” the man slapped her.

The force of the attack threw her off a bit. Dazedly she tried to see his features... “You won’t get away with this. I will kill you!!” she shouted, and bit his hands.

“Agh bitch!!! Let go,” he tried to throw her off, but she bit firmly into his skin until her mouth was filled with the taste of his disgusting blood.

‘Fucker, you try to mess with me, then both of us will go down.’ He slapped her again and again, but she refused to let go.

Suddenly there was a loud footstep coming towards them.

‘Help is here... I just have to run.’ she let go of him. “Help!! Here!!” she ran towards the bright street but the man behind her suddenly gripped the back of her head.

“You are going nowhere bitch.”

“AHHH let go!!” she struggled a lot. The footsteps were getting close. ‘Just have to hold on a little... just a little bit longer,’

“Fuck you, bitch,” he let go all of a sudden.

Feng was already pulling away with a force and when he suddenly let go of her like that she uncontrollable ran into a wall. A loud bang was heard. Her head was slightly sore.

Panting softly, she slowly crawled up... ‘I’m close... I can..’

Warm liquid dripped down her face.. she tenderly touched her forehead to find her flesh torn up. ‘It’s just a flesh wound.... It’s just a flesh wound...’ she repeatedly said to herself. But the situation was completely opposite. She was losing conciseness fast.

“Feng!! Feng!!!” a boyish voice shouted.

Feng by then lost all strength and laid on the ground... ‘Is it Aiden or Ethan...’ her eyes started to droop over. ‘Don’t come close... I am dying.. Don’t see... such a pitiful sight.’

She felt small hands on her and someone hugged her to their bosom. But that was the last thing she felt before her body went cold.

A mechanical voice chimed.

[“Adventurer, you have failed to complete your task.

Lives: (-1) remaining 2

Power: (-10) remaining 20

Health: (-25) remaining 25

Loading... re-spawning...”]

The next second she was standing in the familiar ship. Eyes wide, she glanced back to see little Elle covering her nose with a kerchief and the two little boys frowning.

“it reeks,” Elle mumbled softly.

Feng softly panted and touched her smooth forehead. ‘Oh dear lord, that was scary. Who... who was that!!’ she slightly slouched down and held her head.

“Feng? What’s wrong?” Ethan moved closer and gently touched her shoulders.

Just that touch alone made her recoil in disgust. “Don’t touch!” she shouted all of a sudden.

Ethan stumbled back with a slightly hurt look. “It’s okay. I won’t touch. Tell me what’s wrong? Are you hurt? Is it your head?”

Silent tears rolled down her cheeks. “I’m fine.. I’m fine...” she turned back and hugged Ethan’s small body. Feeling the familiar warmth, she felt slightly assured. “ahhhh...” she cried loudly, nuzzling her face against him.

Aiden and Elle silently hugged her from back. “It’s okay. We are here. We are here.” They all huddled on the ground.

“What’s going on? Feng? Are you crying?” lady Hiliana ran to them and separated the boys and Elle away from her. “Baby, are you okay? What’s wrong?” she gently caressed her cold red cheeks.

“Lady Hiliana.” she tightly closed her eyes and continued sobbing. “I’m fine....” She mumbled.

“Yes, you are dear.” she pulled her over to her embrace. “Boys, go fetch the doctor.”

Feng crumbled on her rams. All the fear and pain she felt was still etched in her mind... “I was so scared...” she cried.

The lady did not ask more, but she silently gestured for Ethan to bring over Yubiri.

“I am right here, dear. I won’t let anything bad happen to you.” she pulled her away slightly and kissed her cheeks. “Got that?”

Feng sobbingly nodded. “Got it,”

“Don’t weep dear, my heart hurts...” the lady gently started to cry as well.

“I’m sorry... I’m sorry...” Feng laid her head gain her cheeks and closed her eyes. Discreetly, she felt the lady carry her over to the room. But she could not remember much after that.

The doctor called the old lady out to talk about something, leaving her with the kids. She silently glanced at the ceiling. ‘Mister Ling... you fucker..... Why did you even have to create this game? Why did you have to throw me in here? Why? It hurts..’

After a short while, Yubiri ran over with a panicked expression. He swiftly checked her up and found a weird trace of magic on her. Even he, an A-class mage, was not able to discern what this magic trace was.

He silently called the old lady over. “There is a weird magic around her. I don’t know who the caster is. Give me some time I will get that bastard and tear him to pieces.”

“Is that person powerful?”

“Very!”

Lady Hiliana silently nodded. After the young mage left to concoct some portion for Feng, the old lady directly sent her servants to investigate.

After which she called the kids over to her office. “I need to know what Feng was looking at,”

“She was looking at the harbor,” Aiden mumbled.

“Harbor? Was it any ships in particular?”

“It was too far but when she saw something, her eyes went wide,” Aiden said confidently. “Shall we go now? I want to be close to her.”

“Hmm...” the lady sullenly glanced out the bustling little island and at the harbor. “What spooked her so much?”
