I tried to delete your texts tonight.

In the end,

I decided not to.

I could have.

I'm ready to, I think.

Yet,

As I began to delete them,

I realized that

I don't want to forget

How well you treated me

I don't want to settle for less

Than you showed me I deserved.

You may not have been the man for me,

But you helped set the standard

For me

Of how a man should treat me.

For that,

I am forget grateful.
