Chapter 190
Bruno did not expect Madeline would agree. He could not help but grin. He was so excited that he
wanted to hold Madelineâs hands, but she rejected it.
âMr. Grant, the real estate agent, is here with a buyer,â said Kingsley.
Hearing that, Bruno was so happy. He quickly went to welcome the real estate agent and the buyer in.
He was so enthusiastic. It seems that he was the owner of the house.
Kingsley led the real estate agent and the buyer in and introduced them to Bruno.
âMr. Grant, this is Mr. Cole, the real estate agent, and this is Mr. White who is interested in buying the
house..â
âNice to meet you, Mr. White. My house is well-maintained. If it werenât for the urgent need for cash
flow, I wouldnât even want to sell itâ¦â Bruno began to explain as soon as the guests entered the house.
The buyer, Ethan White, was from the suburb. He was not tall and had a big belly. However, he
seemed rich.
Having lived in Imperial for many years, Ethan planned to buy a house in the neighborhood for the sake
of his children. However, no residents from the neighborhood wanted to let go of their property since
they did not lack money.
The real estate agent found Bruno a buyer when Bruno put the house on the market.
However, when Ethan saw Bruno in person, he was in doubt. Not only did Bruno smell bad, but he also
did not look like a resident staying here.
âMr. Grant, are you sure this is your house?â Ethan asked, standing at a distance from Bruno. He felt
suspicious.
âOf course, otherwise, why do I sell it?â
âAll right. I like this house. But show me the property title to prove that youâre the owner of the house.
Then Iâll pay in full.â Ethan was a straightforward person. He made the decision at once.
Hearing that, Bruno was thrilled.
âSure. Take a seat. Iâll be right back!â
Bruno grinned as he turned around to look for Madeline who was sitting at the bar counter.
At that moment, Madeline was drinking chocolate milk quietly while waiting to watch a good show.
âMadeline, did you hear that? Mr. White is paying in full for the house. Give me the property title now!â
âTitle? What property title?â
âThe property title of this house!â Bruno whispered in disbelief.
Donât tell me she doesnât know what a property title isâ¦
âI donât have it.â Madeline shrugged.
âWhat do you mean you donât have it? You promised me to sell the house. Now Mr. White wants to buy
it. How could you go back on your word?â
âNo, I didnât go back on my word.â Madeline shook her head.
âThen take out the property title now. Mr. White is waiting!â
âI said you can sell the house. I didnât go back on my word. But the landlord didnât give me the property
title when I rented the house,â Madeline explained loudly.
âWhat? Are you kidding me?â Bruno was shocked. He felt that he was fooled.
âLandlord? Mr. Grant, whose house are you selling? You or your landlord? Damn it! Thatâs ridiculous.
How dare you sell your landlordâs house?â Ethan was doubtful about Bruno just now. He was pissed off
when he heard what Madeline said.
âMr. White, please listen to me. Itâs a misunderstanding. I can explain itâ¦â Bruno was stunned. He
quickly tried to explain.
âMadeline, stop joking. Go and get the property title to Mr. White now.â At that moment, Bruno still
thought Madeline was joking with him.
âBut I really donât have the property title. How about I call the landlord over now?â As Madeline spoke,
she dialed Andyâs number.
A few minutes later, Andy, who had been waiting nearby, came in angrily.
âWho are you? What are you guys doing in my house?â Andy shouted angrily.
Seeing that, Bruno was startled.
âWho the hell are you?â asked Bruno.
âIâm the owner of this house, and who the hell are you? Oh, you smell horrible. Madeline, how could
you let a beggar in?â
âWhat?â Bruno was mad when Andy called him a beggar. He wanted to refute but was interrupted by
Madeline.
âThis man barged in and said he wanted to sell the house. He even wanted me to give him the property
title. I have no choice but to call youâ¦â Madeline explained.
Hearing that, Andy continued to act.
âWhat? Thatâs crazy. How could you harass my tenant and sell my house? Who do you think youâre?â
Andy berated in a loud voice.
Madeline asked Andy to act. The latter exaggerated to put up a good show.
âOh, my God! This is not even your house. Mr. Cole, what are you doing? Do you know that heâs a
scammer?â
Ethan was shocked. He glared at Bruno as if he was really a scammer.
Suddenly, Ethan felt relieved. He could lose more than a billion if he bought the house. At the thought
of it, he felt horrified.
âHey, Iâm terribly sorry. I donât know why scammers nowadays are so bold. They barged into houses
and even wanted to sell them.â Andy came forward when he saw Ethan was in a panic.
âLuckily, I havenât pay him yet. Otherwise, Iâll lose all my savings. But this is Imperial. How could
something like this happen? I must call the police!â
Ethan looked at Bruno, feeling scared. He immediately took out his phone to call the police.
Bruno wanted to stop him but was stopped by Andy.
âMr. White, please donât call the police. Itâs a misunderstanding!â
âMisunderstanding? Do you think Iâm a fool? Look, the property title is with him. Heâs the real owner,
and youâre only a liar. Luckily, Iâm not stupid. Otherwise, Iâm scammed. Crap! Itâs a mad world.â Ethan
continued to berate.
âFine, since you donât give me a chance to explain, itâs useless for me to stay any longer.â Bruno
walked out, seeing things were getting out of hand.
Bruno finally understood that Madeline set him up. Ethan was going to call the police. He did not want
to be questioned by the police.
However, before he walked out the door, he was stunned. He took a few steps back, stumbled over the
steps, and fell to the ground.
âNoah?â
