Chapter 232
âW-When did you come down?â Elise demanded.
âA few moments ago. You havenât answered my question. Who were you interested in?â Dylan asked.
âYou misheard. I donât like anyone.â Elise blushed and ran away.
Madeline chuckled when she saw how her friend shot herself in the foot.
âWhatâs wrong with that crazy woman, Maddie? I saw her cheeks were flushed. Is she having a fever?â
Dylan asked in concern.
âHah! I canât believe how foolish you are, Dylan. You and Elise are a match in heaven!â Madeline joked.
The man replied tersely, âHey, Maddie! Mind your words. Iâm afraid the crazy woman will attack me if
she hears that.â
âAll right, Iâll stop talking. Oh yes, Elise specially packed some crayfish for you. Remember to eat
them.â Madeline shook her head helplessly and placed the delicacy in front of Dylan.
âThis⦠this is for me?â Dylan exclaimed, his eyes wide with delight at the juicy, delicious crayfish.
âYeah. Elise said it was a pity you didnât get to try it, so we brought back some for you,â she explained.
âIs there something wrong with the crazy woman? Why did she become so nice?â the man said
skeptically.
âIâll take it away if youâre not planning to eat,â she threatened.
âStop! It doesnât matter if she poisoned it. As a scientist, Iâm confident no one can poison me to death!â
Dylan quickly accepted the platter of crayfish and happily devoured it when he noticed Madeline had no
desire to steal it from him.
âWhy is Noah allergic to crayfish? Does it have to do with the medication heâs taking?â Madeline asked.
âOf course not. Noah has been allergic to crayfish since he was a child. No one in the Quincy family
dared to eat crayfish. Didnât you notice when you were a member of the Quincy family?â
Madeline was fuming at the revelation. He has indeed lied to me!
When Dylan noticed the womanâs expression darkened, he hurriedly tried to come up with an
explanation to cover for Noah. âWell, Maddieâ¦â
Suddenly, her phone sounded. It was a notification from Instagram.
Thomas wrote a message, âDearest Mommy, donât panic if someone tells you that your beloved son
refuses to speak forever. Please be assured that Iâm doing well!â He also attached a few pictures of his
handsome self.
Perplexed by Thomasâ message, Madeline wrote, âMy dearest son, you are so good-looking. Why do
you refuse to speak?â
Thomas replied, âI want to be a quiet handsome man.â
Madeline wrote, âSpeak the truth.â
Thomas simply wrote, âI never lie.â
Madeline replied, âDo you think Iâll believe that? Where are you? What time will you be back?â
Thomas texted, âColt and I are with Mr. Charles. We wonât be going home today. Please rest well,
Mommy. Iâm tired. Goodnight!â
Madeline replied, âDo you think Iâll believe youâre tired so early, Thomas Grant?â
When she discovered Thomas went offline, she shook her head helplessly. The little devil must be up
to no good. I wonder whoâs the unlucky fella.
After waking up at the hospital, Annalise was consumed by rage and madness. She destroyed
everything in the hospital room and even gave Liam bruises on the head.
The more she thought about it, the more she felt something was wrong. It was broad daylight, so how
could it be a coincidence that I encountered a ghost? I was so embarrassed!
She yelled, âIt must be that little brat! He was out to destroy me! Liam, I want you to catch him and find
out whatâs going on!â
Liamâs knees went soft when he heard her demands. He lowered his head and reminded timidly, âMs.
Solace, heâs Mr. Quincyâs son!â
âWhy should I suffer in silence just because he is Noahâs son? I wouldnât have caused such a stir at his
company if it werenât for that boy. Now that things have escalated, how am I going to be with Noah in
the future? Itâs all because of that brat!â Annalise shrieked.
The man suggested, âWell⦠Mr. Quincy was busy and did not see what happened at the elevator. As
long as everyone keeps quiet and avoids discussing the matter, heâll never know about it. Donât worry,
Ms. Solace.â
âWasnât Noah the one who sent me to the hospital?â the woman questioned. When she saw Liamâs
hesitance, she added, âPerhaps itâs a blessing in disguise then.â A fresh swell of rage rose in her when
she thought of her disheveled state in the elevator. Luckily, Noah was not there to witness it.
âItâs great that you understand where Iâm coming from, Ms. Solace. I heard the little boy was admitted
to the hospital because he was too frightened.â
âDid you just say he was frightened? Why is he such a bother?â Annalise said incredulously.
âHeâs just a five-year-old child, Ms. Solace,â Liam reminded.
Regrettably, his advice was ignored. âDidnât you see how annoying he was? Heâs not a typical child!
Which hospital is he staying at? Iâm going to visit him.â she demanded.
Liam tried to dissuade her once more. âH-heâs in the ward next door. Ms. Solace, you need to
remember that heâs Mr. Quincyâs son. Why donât we let the matter rest? If Mr. Quincy learns about itâ¦â
âI hope Noah finds out the truth. Heâll realize then that the wretchâs son is a good-for-nothing! He should
disown him as soon as possible.â Annalise stormed out of the room before Liam could stop her.
The man said as he chased after her, âMs. Solaceâ¦â
âDonât you dare stop me! Bring me to him now!â Annalise ordered, determined to teach the boy a
lesson. Given her insistence, Liam had no choice but to show her the way to the VIP ward next door.
Meanwhile, Thomas was tucked in bed, playing with his phone. He had just finished talking with his
mother and was getting ready to send reminders to Colton. However, before he could do so, someone
pulled his blanket away.
âHey, little brat. How dare you stay in this hospital after causing me so much embarrassment! Who put
you up to it? Was it that wretch, Madeline Grant?â Annalise jeered.
