CHAPTER 561 I SAID IT WASNâT ME
With Thomas out cold, the abductor covered the boy with his clothes and carried him out of the airport
and into a car.
Thomas regained some strength in the car. He was relieved that the two abductors did not tie him up
since he was just a defenseless child.
The boy activated his bracelet in secret and fired something at the back of the neck of the guy behind
the wheel.
The person felt the back of his neck curiously before putting the focus back on driving. A snowflake
dispersed behind his neck, stretching out by the edges like a cold hand grabbing his neck.
Since the man kept cocking his head back with a strange expression, the person in the front
passengerâs seat offhandedly asked, âWhatâs the matter with you?â
The man reached behind his neck and uttered in bewilderment, âMy neck feels strange. Can you see if
thereâs something there?â
The person in the front passengerâs seat rolled his eyes. âPut up with it. Weâre almost there.â
The man recoiled his arm in confusion. Nevertheless, the feeling that someone was stroking him was
back. The eerie sensation sent chills up his spine.
Amid the cold shivers, he cautiously glanced at the rear-view mirror, and what he saw scared the hell
out of him. The boy lying in the backseat had turned into a gory woman. The woman jumped at him
with a bloody mouth.
âAh!â The man screamed and turned the steering wheel. The car banged into a railing.
âWhat are you doing? Are you trying to die?â The person in the front passengerâs seat criticized him in
annoyance.
The man fearfully pointed to the back. âThe back⦠Someone is in the back.â
âDuh. We kidnapped him. Of course, thereâs somebody in the back.â The person in the front
passengerâs seat impatiently opened the car door and walked around the car to pull the man off the
wheel.
They had to hurry along. It would be hard to explain if the police arrived and saw the kid in the
backseat.
It was a good thing that the carâs engine was still working.
The strange feeling behind his neck disappeared after the man took a seat on the passengerâs side. He
mustered the courage to look back. There was only one boy there. No woman was in sight.
Were his eyes playing tricks on him?
The man shook his head. With his vision growing blurry, he rubbed his eyes and saw the woman
crouching on his companionâs shoulders.
âAh! You⦠Youâ¦â The man stammered for words as his finger remained pointed at his companion.
This time, he wet his pants.
Annoyed, his companion glared at him. âWhat the hell is wrong with you?â
âWhat are you trying to do? Get away!â Since the gory woman jumped at him, the man started to swing
his fists and kick his feet in the air. The companion sustained the blows.
Enduring the pain, the companion pulled up at the side of the road and angrily exchanged blows. Since
they were an equal match to each other, the fight came to a draw.
Thomas took a moment to enjoy the fight before making plans to slip away. To his dismay, another car
showed up from behind. Two people got out of the second car and carried Thomas into their vehicle
before driving off. The fight by the side of the road was the least of their concern.
This time, a man in black sat by Thomas to stop the boy from trying anything. Thomas could only
activate the GPS tracking in his bracelet and pretended to pass out. Lying there with his eyes closed,
the boy gradually fell asleep.
The man in black was speechless to catch the snoring. How could the boy be so relaxed and sleep in
such circumstances?
It did not take long before Thomas was brought to a hotel. He âwoke upâ after being hurled to the bed.
Rubbing his eyes, he asked the man in black who was just about to leave. âWhere is this place?â
Seeing that the man in black had no intention of replying, Thomas inquired further, âWho are you?
Whereâs my mommy? Did you take the bag my mommy gave me?â
The man in black paused in motion. âWhat bag?â
âThe little bag I wore around my neck. Itâs nothing of value. Just give it back to me. My mommy said
that she would spank me if I were to lose it.â Thomas had eavesdropped on Madeline and Noahâs
conversation, so he knew there were people after something of theirs.
Although Thomas had no idea what it was, he could still use it to his advantage.
The man in black turned around to make a phone call before standing at the door to stare at Thomas
for a while. He then walked back into the room and searched Thomas thoroughly.
âHehe. Youâre tickling me. I canât stand it. Haha!â Thomas rolled around the bed.
The man in black helplessly shook his head and got up to leave. He had his suspicions that the pair,
who got into a fight in the middle of the road, might have been bribed and acted like lunatics to steal the
puzzle piece.
âCan I go out with you?â Blinking his eyes, Thomas innocently asked.
The man was dumbstruck but decided to get real with the boy. He shook his head. âNo. Youâre being
kidnapped.â
âHow much are you planning on asking from my daddy? Five hundred million? A billion? I think Iâm
worth ten billion dollars. Why donât I help you with the ransom letter? Itâs insulting if you ask too little.â
The man was at a loss for words. Some son he was.
âNo need for that. Just stay here and behave.â
âPlease take me out of here. Iâm scared. I canât stay in a room alone. Why donât you keep me
company?â
A voice came onto the man in blackâs earpiece. âThe two went missing.â
âIâm telling you that Iâm a master of escape. I will figure out a way to get out of here if you wonât bring
me along.â Thomas threatened with a pout.
The man in black received word from above that the kid was smart and cunning. He and his team were
to proceed with caution. Hence, the last thing they wanted was to unleash the boy on the world.
He closed the door, blocking out all of Thomasâ whining.
Only, why was his hand stuck to the knob? It was glued tightly that ripping his hand out was not an
option.
âI need help.â The man in black furrowed his brows at the shut door.
Soon, someone brought hot water and other stuff to separate his hand from the knob. Alas, nothing
worked.
The man in black opened the door and questioned Thomas, âWhat did you do to my hand?â
Jumping off the bed, Thomas took strides to the man and exclaimed in surprise, âWhat happened to
your hand?â
âMy hand is stuck because you applied glue to the doorknob! Remove my hand from there, or Iâll beat
the crap out of you!â The man viciously threatened Thomas.
Thomas sulkily snapped, âI was passed out when you brought me in here. I woke up on the bed. I didnât
go near the door or touch you. How can you frame me?â
The man harked back to the earlier incident. It was true that Thomas did nothing of that sort.
âBoss, my hand is stuck too,â Another person said embarrassedly.
âMine too!â
âDitto!â
The three of them had their hands stuck to the back of the man in blackâs hand. They pulled and
tugged, nearly ripping the skin off the man. Altogether, they grimaced in pain.
âSee. I told you it wasnât me.â Thomas had his arms crossed the whole time.
Little Bee did all the work for him, spraying superglue onto the trioâs palms.
