" 'arvey! 'arvey stop!" Harvey's back collar was grabbed by a very confused Jubilant, who upon seeing Harvey storming inside the library with a heavy scowl, couldn't help but butt in.
"Not now, Jub. I'll talk later."
"Ya look can send me six foot down mate-" Jubilant huffed, pushing Harvey down to sit on a chair. "What's yer problem?"
"Jubilant I said I wouldn't talk. Please, I have business to attend to-"
"Like tis?" Jubilant questioned, "Being all spent up? Looks like ya bout to kill sommet."
"It's... it's complicated," Harvey sighed.
"Me is free." The older boy shrugged. "Us could talk."
"Improve your grammar, would you?"
Jubilant laughed loudly, slapping his hand on his thigh. " 'is majesty Faizy says the same. Probably sulking sommet, tis boy."
"Yes that's true-" Harvey smiled a little, considering the faces of his new friends. "Anyhow, how is everything for you?"
"Good mate, just cut up a lizard today. And you?"
Harvey sighed deeply.
"Say it, com'on."
"Its about my sister, Jubilant." Harvey sighed, slumping in his chair. Did this jolly giant need to know? "I'd appreciate it if you'd grant me leave."
"What ya wanna do about that, eh?" Jubilant raised his brow.
"It's- you know⦠some man has been writing letters to my sister, and Michael pays him to do that!"
"Who's Michael?"
"My sister's fiancee." Harvey showed the letter to his new friend.
"Jolly goodness mate! Look at tis 'andwriting!" Jubilant snatched the paper, "work of art it is."
Harvey glared at him. "Some strange pervert's doing is this. Christ knows what intentions is he harbouring-"
"So⦠yet sister's set to be wed with a man, who knows that another man writes tis for her?" Jubilant was profoundly surprised at the bold choice of words written on the parchment, quite frankly describing a lover's pining.
"You make it sound worse, Jubilant." Harvey snatched the paper back. "Anyhow, this man's name is Ansel Dawson, and I need to find him and put an end to this nonsense."
"Ansel Dawson?" Jubilant was just starting to get interested. "Me thinks I know tis fella," the tall boy scratched his chin, "heard about 'im from some senior matesâ¦"
"Huh?"
"Would you please be a little quite? You see I was trying to study here." Harvey and Jubilant were interrupted by a voice- very sweet and dewy- the same Harvey had heardâ¦
"You?" Harvey pointed his finger without shame at that boy- blue eyes and brown locks, "You are the same from earlier!"
"I have a name," the rabbit-like boy smiled- "please refer to me by that."
"Sorry mate, we'll go!" Jubilant stood up hurriedly, the sound of chairs screeching disturbing the silence of the library once more.
"Yes, pardon my behaviour." Harvey nodded curtly, as the dewy boy smiled once more and disappeared in the book shelves.
"Hard to yell in the bookshelf," Jubilant shook his head, as he and Harvey walked out, slowly moving to their dorm buildings. "But what ya going to do?"
"Nothingâ¦" Harvey stopped dead in his tracks- that boy from earlier, he said his name⦠Harvey crunched the parchment in his fist, "Jubilant, I remember some work I had to get done. I'll take my leave here."
"Eh? What work?"
"Just some⦠work. See you tomorrow brother." Harvey nodded curtly, and retraced his steps speedily, back to the library to find that boy- he'd said his name himself!
Of course it had to be an irritating boy such as him-
"Oh it's you again!"
Harvey squinted his eyes, watching the boy as he leaned against a book case, a volume of poetry in his hands.
"You⦠Ansel Dawson,"
"You remember me." He smiled.
"How much do you know about my sister?!"
