Third pov
(F/n) seemingly lifeless in Karma's arms has drawn everyone's attention.
"I-is she okay" Karma nods his head.
"But she's barely breathing." Nagisa pointed out.
"She's fine, This is nothing new."
Confusion is written on everyone's face.
"The truth is (f/n) is kinda like Koro-Sensei. She was a human experiment."
(A/n): angsty flashback incoming, you have been warned.
***********
Flashback.
"Congratulations Ms.Akabane" the nurse hands her two babies with tuffs of red hair. "A successful delivery."
June Akabane is crying with joy holding on to her 2 pride and joys. Hugging and rocking them back and forth.
Her husband hugged her rubbing her shoulders. "They're beautiful"
Looking back up to the nurse, "who's the older one."
"The girl" his lips curled in disdain.
"Honey" June warned. He looks back only to meet his wife's scary gaze. Sighing in defeat he then gave a loving smile "alright, anything for you".
Timeskip. Age 5
"Mom come on, read me another book" a small girl with golden eyes smiled brightly. "Teach me astronomy." She pointed at a huge map filled with the constellation.
"You've inherited my beautiful brain. Can't say the same for your brother" the mom looks down upon a boy with mercury eyes. He just stuck out his tongue causing the girls to chuckle.
*******
"Hey, mom" (f/n) asked.
"Hmm" she hummed in response while focusing on her cooking.
"Why did you become a scientist?" Her eyes filled with curiosity.
"Because I was the smartest in academics back in school, so I decided to spend the rest of my life on one of the subjects they teach." She turned off the stove. "history is pointless, the usage for math is so vague. Why do I even need language, I'm speaking to you aren't I..." she ranted.
(F/n) sweatdropped.
"I chose science because I remembered the first time I looked through a microscope, seeing billions of micro-organisms, it's like looking down on another world."
(F/n) perked up her hears in amusement. "Rea~"
"And if I wanted to, I can wipe it out with a finger like a god." She held her hands in triumph.
"Mom you got problems" (f/n) facepalmed.
*******
My first conversation with my dad isn't 'normal'.
"Hey (f/n)" My father spoke.
"Yeah" I stuttered, well this was a first. I'm talking to dad. Person to person.
"Do you want to know how to use this" he showed me a wooden sword. That was very random.
I shook my head. 'Who wants to use a stick, like seriously'.
"How about this" he then showed me a plain steel sword.
I admired it sharpness then eagerly nodded my head.
"Well you gotta know how to use this (he pointed at the wooden) before you use this (pointing at the steel)." He explained.
"Ok" my only father-daughter bonding moments is when he teaches me kendo.
**********
Timeskip. Age 6
"(F/n) stay with me you can't die." Her mom screamed while crying hugging her daughter whose is now hooked to life support. (f/n) has developed a brain tumor. Disease: Incurable.
Karma stood there looking innocently at his mom. "you can save her, right mom" she looked back at him. "What?"
"You're a scientist aren't you, the smartest in this world. You can save her can't you." He looks at her.
"Yeah, the smartest." She showed a weak smile before tightly hugging Karma. He hugged back, June's eyes flashed with determination.
*********
"Is the operation ready?" June asked her assistants.
"Yes, but are you sure." She asked.
"I'm sure."
"But..." she spoke again.
"She's my daughter I can do whatever I want with her" June snaps. "I don't care if this is legal or not. Now go get the other materials."
"Yes, ma'am." She ran off.
June's eye turned soft after looking at (f/n). "I trust my skills, please let this be successful. (F/n), live on, survive. Please." She clutched her hands.
"I never believed in a deity, but if you are out there..."
*********
Age 7
(F/n) opened her eyes looking around the white room.
Karma automatically ran to her side.
"You're awake"
"Where's mom" he just shook his head.
"Shes no longer here... on earth."
Tears overflow her eyes like rivers.
"It's not true. That's not true." She yells shaking her head.
Karma patted her shoulders in comfort until her screaming turns to weak hiccups and fell back asleep due to exhaustion.
**********
A few months later
Slaps*
"You ungrateful brat. Be happy you are still alive." Her father yelled throwing her into a room then shut the door. "Don't come out until you finished those books and answered everything. Or else" his eyes filled with anger.
(F/n) could only tremble in fear and weakly nod her head.
"And don't bother asking for food. If you can't even do this much without dying than your mom saved you for nothing." He warned before walking off.
(F/n) looked at all the books. They are all middle schooled leveled stuff. She wiped her tears and flipped through the math textbook.
Pencil in hand she wrote. Answers after answers, following the textbook's guide.
Ignoring her stomach's growl and tired eyes she continued.
There are no windows nor clock. She couldn't tell what time it is or the current date.
She reached into her pocket taking out the last proof of her mom's love for her. A picture of her and her mom along with a folded piece of paper.
The picture was taken when she won the junior chess competition.
The letter wrote.
(F/n) if you are reading this than I have defied logic and achieved something none of mankind has ever done. I brought you back from the grave. Along the way, you'll be able to tap into your newfound abilities. Anyway (f/n) don't feel too bad about my death, this outcome is inevitable. But you know, it was worth it, I truly am the smartest. Knowledge can do anything if you know how to use it. When you get to my level of intelligence you'll understand.
But as if you can ever reach than me.
(Smirks)
Your loving mother
Mom you didn't have to save me.
My life is so pathetic and meaningless. No knowledge in the world is worth all this pain.
She blacked out due to exhaustion.
Opening her eyes she forced herself to continue working despite her stomach screaming in agony and her head spinning, she pushed onwards.
Days have passed.
Her body couldn't take it anymore. As she finished her last and falls off her chair. Desperate to keep her eyes open but it was no use. She called out in silence... to the only person who can help her.
...Karma...please... help me...
*******
"(F/n)"
She groaned, too weak to do anything.
"(F/n) wake up"
Recognizing the voice she quickly opened her eyes and sat up.
"Here eat. You were in here for a whole week"
"Week?" Her voice dry and hoarse from the lack of water.
"Sorry, here I should've given you this first."
"Why are you here" i croaked.
"I don't know, I felt something. And came." He put the plate on my lap.
"But won't dad yell at you for doing this" I tried lifting the spoon but failed miserably.
Karma laughed as he decided to feed me instead.
"Nah he won't. Promise. Besides you finished his work didn't you."
"Yeah I did"
"I'm sorry I couldn't help" his eyes filled with guilt.
"Its okay I don't want you getting hurt on my behalf. Besides I'm supposed to be dead anyway." She dryly laughs.
*********
She has gotten used to her father's treatment. As she could no longer cry or feel any kind of physical pain when being hit by her father.
He would always shut her in a room for however many days, not caring about her health. And after a month of studying, he would take her to a dojo somewhere and continued teaching her kendo for a month. Then alternate between study and kendo for a whole year.
And each time she would finish, exhaustion always takes over and leaves her unable to move. Karma, without fail always comes to her aid.
After her torment, he gives her one day grace period where she can do whatever she wants.
She takes this time to eat back some of her health.
***********
"Finish these," he yells.
A whole year has passed his attitude towards me hasn't changed one bit. In fact, it might have gotten worse, he cares even less about my existence. When I asked my brother 'why?' The answer is always the same 'mom'. He cares more about his wife than his daughter.
Sighing I looked at the book's content. High school level. That's right. I manage to learn every middle school level subject in a year.
'Is he planning to make me do the same for high school.'
It's not like there's any difference.
"Hey pst"
I looked around the room spotting my brother.
"Karma what are you doing here" I whispered yell.
"Come on, we're sneaking out today."
He pulls me off the chair and brings me outside.
I haven't been outside in months, It nice to get some fresh air. But the thought of having to face my father scares me as I clutched his hands.
He brings me to the park and made me sit on a bench.
"Here, it's our birthday." He handed me some cake.
"You could've given me this 3 years ago you know." I raised an eyebrow.
"Glad to see you haven't lost your sass. Don't ever change sis." He smiled and smacked my shoulder.
Oh and something else." He took out a long rectangular box. Opening it I saw a beautiful arm length sword. "It something mom left me. She said to give this to you for your whatever-th birthday."
"And you chose to give this now" I questioned. He shrugged in response.
"I love it thanks." I hugged him.
***********
My father was not happy I snuck out, birthday or not. Karma couldn't do anything about it either.
I think he broke a few ribs and my left arm. I just sat there while I watch Karma treat my broken bones.
"I can't keep going like this." I finally spoke.
"Then what do you want to do."
"I don't know."
That night I slept surprisingly well, for it was a life-changing moment for me.
I met my mother from beyond the grave.
