Chapter 45: Chapter 43 ✔️

" Cannon ball!" Mason yells before jumping into the jacuzzi.

" Mason, the jacuzzi isn't a swimming pool! You can't jump into it!" Samantha yells from the dining room as she watches the scene unfold in front of her.

" It's basically the same thing!" Mason yells back.

Idiot.

I avert my attention away from them to spare my nerves from running out. Instead I focus my attention on Zac who is busy aggressively sweeping the floors.

Since when did he become a neat freak?

" Don't look at me like that. I get this way after a bad hangover." he admits.

Who cleans when they are hungover? I know I don't. All I want to do is lay in bed and stuff my face with as much food as possible.

" You do amuse me." I comment as I walk past him towards the main living area where Tyler, Parker and Jackson are watching re-runs of old football matches.

" Don't you guys have anything better to do than watch football?" I ask as I sit down on Tyler's lap. He wraps his one arm around my waist and keeps his free hand ready to control the remote.

" Coach said it's good for practice." Parker answers.

I like watching football but only the games I already haven't seen. It's like watching a movie over again and excepting a different ending.

" Guys." I whine as I lay back on Tyler's chest.

No response comes from the 3 guys sitting and watching the TV with all their attention.

" Guys!" I whine a little louder.

" Tyler tell your girl to mute it." Jackson comments.

Oh no he did not just tell me to mute it.

" Babe mute it." Tyler says deep in thought as his eyes are still glued on the screen.

" Oh Kylie! Wasn't Jackson suppose to help you pick out an outfit for tomorrow night? " I call out to Jackson's girlfriend.

Jackson's eyes widen as he realizes what I'm doing. He shoots me a glare but before he can say anything Kylie appears in front of him.

" Now. "she orders before dragging him away by his ear.

That'll teach him.

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve and we still don't have a clue on what we are doing to celebrate. I know we aren't just going to sit home and wait for the clock to hit 12 but I also don't know what the plans are. Zac mentioned something about a bonfire one of his friend's are hosting. The weather doesn't look too bad today and hopefully it won't rain tomorrow.

" Emily will you get off from your laptop and come join the fun?" Trish whines as she pokes Emily at her sides.

" To do what? Watch Mason make a fool out of himself? Observe Zac's cleaning methods or watch re-runs from old football matches?" she snaps.

Yeah so she woke up with little red riding hood this morning. That's probably why Parker is avoiding her at this given moment. I don't blame the guy.

" Tyler let's go do something. " I whine still sitting on his lap.

He doesn't respond to my whining. What is up with all these people and their technology? This trip is over in a few days and we have to make the best out of it.

I get off from Tyler's lap. He probably didn't even notice the extra weight removing from him.

" Tyler Venice Anderson lift your fucking ass and meet me outside!"

That's bound to get his attention.

I have to stiffle a laugh as I watch Tyler's horrified expression. It's the middle name he's terrified of. He asked for it.

" You're middle name is Venice? " Parker asks trying to hold his laugh.

" Fuck off. " Tyler answers before standing up and storming out of the house.

That went easier than I thought.

" See you guys later!" I yell as I grab my car keys before walking out of the house.

" Was that really necessary?" Tyler asks as we walk over to my car.

" You didn't pay attention to me." I shrug.

Tyler rolls his eyes as he opens the driver's door for me to climb in before closing it and climbing into the passenger seat.

" So where are we going? " Tyler asks as we drive out of the driveway.

" I have no idea. " I say deep in thought.

I've never been to South Carolina before so I don't exactly know what there is to do. Maybe they have a carnival or something like that?

" Are you being serious now? You embarrassed me in front of my friends, dragged me away from the football game for what?" Tyler rambles.

" I don't know okay. I just wanted to spend some time with you. All time we get together is in the bedroom and I'm sorry if that isn't enough for me. "

This conversation took a wrong turn real fast.

" You're always busy hanging out with your friends and trying to make Gabby feel as unwelcome as possible. " he continues.

Speaking of Gabby, I don't even know how I'm putting up with all her crap. She basically doesn't eat anything we eat and she refuses to help clean up. She can be lucky that she doesn't get enough chances to use her irritating voice because Mason's tongue is always down her throat.

" I only spend time with them because you're always busy with something else and completely forgetting about my existence! And for the Gabby part, I don't like the girl, sue me." I snap.

" Will you just fucking stop making excuses." Tyler whines.

" I'm not making excuses Tyler. God, the only way I could get you away from your friends was to embarrass you! It's really pathetic if you ask me. "

When did this not-relationship turn into something so complicated? All I wanted to do was spend more time with him.

" Is this because I didn't say it back to you? " I ask after a few minutes of intense silence.

The thought has crossed my mind before. I know he told me that he isn't going to pressure me into saying it back to him but what if he didn't actually mean it?

" What? No Ally that's not it at all. " he replies utterly confused.

If it's not that then why do things still feel off between the two of us? I haven't felt this way before about the two of us. It only started when we got here. I'm starting to really dislike this place.

" Then what's wrong Tyler? I need you to communicate with me."

The fact that I'm still driving after all that is a miracle. Damn I'm a good driver.

" Nothing is wrong. Can we just go back to the house please?" he sighs.

That's a hard pang to the chest.

I feel the tears starting to burn my eyes but I quickly blink it away before he notices. All I wanted to do was spend a little time with him and this is what I get in return? No wonder why my relationships don't last long - heck I'm not even in a relationship.

" Fine." I whisper before making a u-turn and heading back home.

The trip back to the house was uncomfortably quiet. I don't know what has gotten into Tyler and I tried communicating with him but he really doesn't look like the one to talk now.

Once we reach the house Tyler jumps out and leaves without even a single glance. Once he's out of eye sight I hit the steering wheel out of frustration. I really just want to go back to the dorm and lay in my own bed and eat myself to sleep. I won't cry. I'm done with being the sad and vulnerable one.

After a few minutes of me just cooling down I climb out of my car. Closing the door and locking it, I walk over to the front door. As I step in my eyes land on Tyler sitting on his previous spot, watching the football game.

I'm not going to cry. I'm just going to ignore the pang in my heart.

I walk past the two boys without sparing Tyler a glance. I know he isn't looking at me anyways. Mason is still busy damaging the jacuzzi and Gabby is laying outside in her bikini. Not that it's tanning weather what so ever but I'll just let her be. At least she's quiet that way. Hopefully she'll catch a cold and leave us alone for the next few days. That would be amazing.

Emily has disappeared from her place where she was on her laptop so I decide to go to her room. I really just need someone to talk to and help me point out where something went wrong between Tyler and I.

Walking into Emily's room I see her figure laying on the bed with eyes closed. You do not want to wake up a girl who is on her period. I make the smart decision to let her be as I start climbing the stairs all the way up to Trish and Samantha's room.

I knock on the door and wait for one of them to invite me in.

" Come on in!" I hear Samantha's voice.

Purfume scents hit my face as I enter the room. Samantha and Trish are both dressed up and finishing their makeup.

" Hey Ally - sorry we're kind of in the middle of getting ready now." Trish greets me.

" It's no big deal. Where are you guys headed?"

" We're going to some fancy restaurant for our anniversary." Samantha swoons.

Oh yeah I forgot it was their 1 year anniversary today. At least someone gets to be happy.

" Sounds like fun. I'll drop by later then. Enjoy! " I greet them before leaving the room.

Damn it. Why is everyone busy with their own things? This was supposed to be a group holiday and now we're all split up.

I walk down the flight of stairs and over to the destination where I'll hopefully be able to get some advice. Zac.

I knock on his room's door. After getting an invite I enter the room.

" Hey Ally." Zac greets me as he puts down his phone. He quickly notices my dull mood and taps the place beside him on the bed.

I sigh before climbing on the bed and staring at the ceiling.

" I feel like something is bothering you..."

" What gave it away? " I ask sarcastically.

Zac chuckles before rubbing my arm soothingly.

" What did the jerk do this time?"

This is why I love being friends with gay people. They just know everything without asking anything.

" We got into a fight in the car. I don't even know how we got to that point." I sigh.

My cheeks warm up as I think back to the little fight we had in the car. It was uncalled for.

" Tell me what happened." Zac orders.

" Well he asked me where we are headed and I told him that I didn't know because I don't know this place well enough. Then he freaked out on me because I dragged him out of the house for nothing and then I told him that I just wanted to spend some time with him because the only time we get is when we are in bed. And so he flipped out on me and accused me of being busy with the girls the whole time but I told him I'm only hanging out with them the whole time because he's always busy with other stuff. After that it just escalated and he asked me to bring him back. " I'm out of breath by the end of my rant.

Zac looks at me with a sympathetic look. He reaches over to wipe a tear away from my face that I didn't even know was there.

" That's guys for you. Complicated. " Zac comments.

" Then why did you decide on being gay if guys are so complicated?" I chuckle lightly.

" Because you girls are even more complicated." he admits truthfully.

He's not wrong but at times like these where Tyler just acts out I do wonder if it really is the female species that are more complicated than the male species.

For the next few minutes we just lay in each other's company. Zac tells me about a few guys he's interested in but he doesn't have the balls to admit it. He also told me that Mason has started to question his sexuality because he hasn't had a girlfriend in months. Why does Mason always have to be up in everyone's business these days? I tried to reassure him that Mason won't find out because he's too focused on being dumb and full of hormones.

All of the sudden the door swings open. Tyler stands there with raised eyebrows as he watches Zac and I on the bed.

Not this again.

" Unbelievable." Tyler comments before turning around and slamming the door close.

The story of my life.
