Chapter 37 - Bed, Scars & Beyond
Strips of sunlight seeped through the cracks between the blinds as my eyes fluttered open. Jasper's soft breathing filled the silence of the room as I looked down to see his arm wrapped tight around my waist.
I smiled as I recalled last night, his apology had not only gotten rid of the animosity between us but I swear to God, his sincerity and remorse had made me fall a hundred times harder for him.
I slowly shifted so I was now facing him, basking in his gorgeous face. His tanned skin and prominent jaw; his obscenely long lashes practically rested across his fine cheekbones and his thick midnight black hair lay tousled to utter perfection.
God, this man was absolutely edible.
"You're staring. Again." Jasper spoke, clearly amused while his sleepy voice conjured up a million wicked thoughts in my mind.
"I wasn't staring," I protested, my attempt clearly futile as he chuckled lowly.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night, baby."
"Ãss," I grumbled underneath my breath.
"What was that? You want anà l?"
"Jasper!" I choked incredulously as he laughed, so loudly, I was sure the sound of his laugh had missed a country.
In Asia.
"What?" He questioned innocently. "I have no objections."
"Of course you don't," I quipped sarcastically as he just smiled at me. "Now who's the one giving creepy stares? What are you looking at?"
"You." He responded simply as I raised an eyebrow.
"No shit, Sherlock," I rolled my eyes.
"You're so beautiful, Scarlett," he murmured, gripping my hips forward so I was straddling him. "And you're all mine."
"All yours." I chuckled softly as I kissed the tip of his nose. "Now, let me go so I can start breakfast."
"No." He responded as I gave him a pointed look.
"It's already one o'clock in the afternoon, Jasper!" I said dramatically. "You are so lucky it's the weekend."
"Exactly," he stated as I got myself comfortable on top of his body. "And I plan to utilize my weekend very well."
"I have to go and visit Melissa, too," I reminded him as he twirled strands of my hair around his finger.
"Did she have a girl or a boy?" He asked.
"A girl. Her name is Avery."
"Am I correct to assume she was named after you?" He grinned as I nodded.
"Do you want kids?" I accidentally blurted out whilst Jasper looked a little taken aback by my sudden enquiry.
"Well... I guess I never really thought I'd even be in a committed relationship, so, naturally ,one could assume children were never going to be a part of my bachelor lifestyle," he explained. "But you see, there was this one woman I had my eyes on for so long but honestly, I always felt she was way out of my league. Imagine that - me, the most sexiest and powerful business tycoon to ever grace this earth felt one woman was out of his league!"
My insides churned considerably upon hearing this. I knew it was wrong of me to feel such jealousy but I genuinely couldn't help it.
"But, of course, the woman I'd set my eyes upon since the moment she stepped into my office with a blueberry muffin in her hand - I still have no regrets for forcing you to give it to me, by the way - opened up to me and gave me a chance, that was when I realized more than ever that I do want children with her. I want a whole soccer team of babies with her."
"You threatened to fire me if I didn't hand over the muffin," I looked at him disgustedly as he laughed.
"I bare my heart and soul out to you and your response is to remain bitter about a muffin," he grinned as I placed my hands on his cheeks.
"I love you," I whispered as I kissed his lips gently.
"I love you, too," he murmured softly, caressing my face before a sly smirk spread across his lips.
"What?"
"You thought I was talking about another woman, didn't you?" His smirk grew larger. "I could smell the jealousy, baby."
"I was right all along!" I spoke as if I'd made a groundbreaking discovery. "You are a dog after all! You know, what with your animalistic like senses and all."
"Nice try but you and I both know you were jealous," he shrugged as I laughed at him.
"Your ego needs to find a new place to live, Jasper, your house isn't big enough for the both of you," I grinned as he glared at me.
"Hilarious," he said sarcastically, practically pouting like a child.
I wasn't even sure how I managed it but somehow I found myself beneath Jasper's muscular body earning an unbelievable look of shock from him.
Slowly I ran my fingers through his hair, bringing his face impossibly closer to mine as he watched me with a guarded expression.
"You're right," I whispered in his ear, kissing him softly. "I was jealous. I don't like to share anything that belongs to me. You are mine, Jasper Queen, I'll kill any bìtch who says otherwise."
"Fücking hell," he said exasperatedly. "Your possessive side is... Excuse me while I take an extremely cold shower... Or ten."
He jumped off of the bed, his excitement clearly unconcealed if the ungodly rise in his boxers was anything to go by.
I smiled flirtatiously up at him. "Need some company?"
Dammit, where in the name of god was I getting this level of confidence from?
"What are you doing to me?" He questioned, sighing in frustration as I immediately regretted the sudden streak of confidence.
"I'm sorry, I -"
"I want you in here in ten seconds. Completely. Naked." He commanded, his voice husky with desire.
Slowly, I obeyed as I walked into the ensuite and began to unbutton my pyjama shirt. I let it fall to the floor, my chest now completely exposed as I slowly removed my pants.
"Forgetting something, Miss Valentina?" His sexy voice spoke from outside as he walked in, locking the door behind him. "Underwear. I want it off. Now."
My heart hammered violently against my ribcage as I slipped off my silk underwear, leaving me completely and utterly exposed.
"Oh, Lord above, give me strength to resist this sin I so desperately desire to commit," Jasper prayed seriously as I burst out laughing.
"Jasper, what the hell is wrong with you?"
"Too many things at this point," he muttered as my cheeks reddened at his nearing proximity. "Don't you dare hide from me, Scarlett."
"It's hard for me," I whispered as he cupped my face in his hands.
"I know it is, baby, but you have to believe me when I say this," he spoke tenderly as I looked at him. "I have never seen anything so beautiful in the entire twenty-six years of my life, I swear to God."
"But, Jasper, these scars are so horrendous and... disgusting," I protested seriously as he glared at me.
"Do you honestly want to know what I think and what I feel when I see those scars on your body, Scarlett?" He questioned seriously as I nodded in hesitation. "I see strength. I see power. I see magic. Your mind, your soul, your body, you - you are the epitome of divinity in motion, Miss Valentina. You make me feel such things I had no idea I was capable of feeling."
"Jasper, -"
"You had better take heed of my words, sweetheart, for the next time you doubt yourself like this again, you will find yourself across my lap where that delectable à ss of yours will learn to love my hands," he growled softly in my ear as the adrenaline pumped through my veins.
"I don't know what to say," I whispered as he smirked, pushing his boxers off as my eyes widened at the sight literally stood before me. "Um, oh my..."
"I think we're done talking."

Hey guys!
I went to the Zoo, today and I saw an extremely sad looking monkey sitting by the corner of his little home. Legit, it was hugging its knees and staring into space looking so lost and alone. It was genuinely such a sad sight, I had to get it off my chest - it honestly was the saddest looking monkey I've ever seen in my life!
Aside from that undeniably odd way to begin an author's note, (I'm a lot weirder in real life, trust me!) how did you guys like Chapter 37? I really enjoyed writing it!
