It's now been two years since my heart problems started. I was currently in a hospital bed, waiting for the doctors to come and get me. Sitting next to me was my mother, she was worried sick about me. I needed a heart transplant today, and supposedly it's super risky. I had my tablet on my stomach, I read to distract myself. I had open book seven of The Beginning After the End novels.
"Luke, are you hungry?" My mother asked me, the look in her eyes told me everything I needed to know. Her legs were twitching, and I could see that she was crying, because her eyes were red.
"I can't eat before surgery, you know that." I told her as I turned off my tablet. "How about after I'm all healed up, we get the pizza we both love?" I looked her in the eyes. I didn't like seeing my mom like this, ever since my father died. She has wanted nothing but the best for me. If something happened to me, I don't know what she would do.
"Oh, I forgot, and that sounds like a good deal." She grabbed my hand on the bed. "You are going to be okay Luke."
"I know mom."
"Luke it's time." Doctor Key said walking into the room and smiled at me. "Let's get you a new heart kiddo."
My mother's hand gripped around mine tighter. "I love you Luke, I'll see you when you are done."
"I love you too, mom."
Doctor Key undid something, and the bed started to move. "We will do everything we can to make sure your son comes out okay and with a heart." Doctor Key smiled and started pushing my bed down a hall. "You got this."
"Shouldn't I be telling you that Doctor Key." I laughed, but it hurt a little.
"I guess so, don't worry Luke. We got you." Doctor Key rolled me into a room with other doctors inside. Two of them lifted me up and onto another table. "Doctor Stevens will give you a mask, and all you have to do is breath. It will make you go to sleep."
A doctor rolled up on my other side in a chair, with a mask in her hand. "Watch out." She untangled some cords and then held the mask over my face. "You're going to start to feel drowsy, just count down from ten out loud."
"10."
"9."
"8."
"7," My eyes started to drift shut.
"6."
"5."
"4...." I passed out.
----
Where am I? Everything is dark, I can't see or hear a single thing. I tried to move, but I was unable to. What in the world is going on?
Oh my god! I'm dead. That's the only explanation. I can't see, hear, or move anything. Wait, let's see if I can smell. Nope, can't smell either. I feel trapped, not like I'm dead.
"It still hurts!" A female voice shouted. My ears work! I'm not dead, or am I. Did I go blind? No, did the new heart make me blind? That's not possible actually, why was I blind? I tried to talk but no words were heard.
"That is because you are still in labor Mrs. Leywin. It looks like you are having twins." What? Did I just hear what I think I did? That has to be a funny coincidence, someone in the hospital has the last name Leywin. "Your going to have to keep going."
Was I in the same room as them or something?
Then I saw light, and then more light. "Congrats, it looks like you're having another boy." Everything was a little foggy and my eyes felt like they were stuck closed. I started to move and then I finally managed to peel my eyes open.
The sight both frightened and excited me. I was looking up at a blue eyed man, with ashy brown hair. That wasn't what caught my eye though.
"Hi, little one." The man who looked similar to Reynolds Leywin spoke. Why couldn't I move? Why was he so large? "I'm your daddy." He had a huge smile on his face. My what? I started to look around the room, in hope of an explanation.
Standing at one end of a bed was a man who looked like a doctor, but the person on the bed had auburn hair. She reminded me of one person, Alice Leywin. What is going on? In her arms was a baby that was crying. "It's okay Ellie, your mama has you." Ellie?
Did I actually die? No, no, no way.
"We didn't plan for a second one dear; we need to come up with a name." The man above me spoke, who I guess is Reynold Leywin. If I did die on that table during surgery, that means I left my mom by herself. "He isn't crying, just like when Arthur was born." Arthur?
I was reincarnated into The Beginning after The End wasn't I. The thought made me happy, but my mind quickly raced back to my mother in the hospital waiting for me to get pizza. My eyes started to go blurry, and I could hear myself start to cry.
"You jinxed it, honey." Alice Leywin said. "We named her Eleanor, that's close to the Kingdom of Elenoir. What if we named him after the person who is saving our son? Arthur said the other day that Virion Eralith was going to be helping him cure his sickness." She had an exhausted tone to her voice.
If I was truly reincarnated, how was I here? I mean, okay I'm in The Beginning After The End world, but last time I checked, the Leywin's had two children, not three, and especially not twins.
"That's a great idea." Rey's voice cut through my cries. "We can call him Veer for short, just like Ellie." I started moving again. "Let's switch, see if you can get little Veer to settle down, and I'll do the same with Ellie."
I was now in her arms, and in these arms, I felt warmth spend throughout my body. I felt calm and safe for some reason. I stopped crying and looked up at Alice Leywin, my mother now I guess. "Hi Veer, I'm your mama."
"I guess he likes you Alice." My dad leaned over with a baby in his arms and held her, so we were facing each other. "This is your brother Ellie, Veer this is your sister."
"Please do not drop the newborn baby Rey." My mother's tone didn't change, but she had a frightening look on her face as she turned to Rey. He went back to holding Ellie normally.
"The babies are both healthy, I'll be on my way." I heard the doctor's voice. "Do you want me to send in the Helsteas?" If this was The Beginning After The End that means we are currently living in the Helstea Mansion with Vincent, Tabitha, and Lilia.
"Please do."
The doctor left and I stayed nuzzled up with my mom, it was like a calming effect. I was still worried about my mom in the other world, but there wasn't anything I could do. I died. This was my mom and dad now.
The doors to whatever room we were in opened. "Twins!" A man's voice called out, which only could be Vincent. "You had twins!" He was now standing next to my father looking at Ellie.
Tabitha came over silently and placed a hand on my mother's shoulder. "Congratulations Alice"
"Thanks Tabitha."
"He is adorable, Lilia come here and see the baby." Tabitha waved her hand, and a young female who I assumed was Lilia appeared next to me. "Isn't he cute."
"Yeah!" If Arthur was in Elenoir, he must be around four years old, which makes Lilia around four too.
I won't be seeing Arthur for a while, he'll be with Virion until I'm three.
"What did you name them?" Tabitha asked my mother.
"This sweet boy is Virion, and that is Eleanor, Veer and Ellie for short."
Shit, I guess this is serious, what does my birth change in this world? I mean I know everything. I read the books twice, my knowledge of this world is far greater than anyone could realize. I know about Alacrya and Epheotus, I know about Asuras. I know who dies and who doesn't. Well, I could change things, attempt to change things at least.
My knowledge is my advantage, unlike Arthur who had countless years of training as a swordsman and a King. I have never touched a sword.
But I am a reincarnate, and I know for a fact that all the reincarnates are powerful. Nico was even powerful, and in his old life he was a nerd.
Wait, wait, wait, I was going to be able to use magic! Holy shit! I know how to awaken my mana core already, unlike Arthur. It took him some time to figure it out because he needed to read about it. I could start on day one of my birth. There was a chance I awoke before I turned one! I wonder what abilities I'll receive.
"Vincent we should let Alice and the newborns rest. We'll see them later." Tabitha spoke and started to the door with Lilia in hand.
"Fine...." Vincent walked over to me first. "Hey Veer!" He made faces at me and then left as well.
I looked over at my father and he places Ellie in a crib. "Can we just let them share a crib, it's big enough for the both of them?"
"Yeah, but I want to hold Veer for a little longer." My mom was smiling down at me, with her brown eyes. I started to feel drowsy, I guess I was a newborn. My eyes drifted shut. "I think he's tired already."
Hah, one thought came to my mind, this was My Beginning After the End.
