(One Week Later)
I've been here now for a week, it's been nice, running in the dungeon whenever I liked. I either spent time with the Twin Horns or Tessia's team, Darvus's attitude toward me changed a little, he was more open, I would say.
By now, I don't know when Arthur will show up, it's going to be any day, they don't talk about the dates in novel, if they did, it would make planning for the war much, much easier.
Speaking of Arthur, I told myself, I would never tell anyone about being a reincarnate, but I was thinking. If I told Arthur, and only him, we could come up with a plan to win. He wouldn't judge me because he is also a reincarnate, the only thing is, how do you break it to someone, that I am from a world, were his life was a story.
I haven't decided, it may be better not to tell him, even though I know it would be for the best.
At this moment, I was walking back to my tent, I had one in the Twin Horn's camp, but I didn't go into the dungeon with them. "Veer!" Tess called out to me; she was sitting around a fire alone. "Come here."
I smiled and walked over to her. "Hey, Tess." I sat down on a stone they were using as a seat. "What's up?"
"Nothing, we just got back as well." It looked like her hair was still wet from washing it, she was wearing a tight black shirt. "How was your run?"
I leaned back, holding the front of the stone so I didn't fall, since the stone seat didn't have a back to it. "Good, I cleared two floors and called it a day." I didn't want to find the mutant before Arthur showed up, that was someone else's job.
"You act like that's nothing, two floors by yourself would be impossible for most mages." Tess smiled at me. "But you aren't most mages, just like Arthur."
"Yeah, our family is strange." I was drenched in blood, I needed to wash up, and by the way Tess kept looking at my cloak, she thought so too. "Hold on." I told her as I removed the cloak I was wearing and threw it on a nearby seat. I was in my normal gear underneath, which obviously didn't have any blood covering it.
"You basically wear no armor." Tessia exclaimed, looking at the small amount of armor I had on, which was my white pair of shoulder plates and my white pair of leg armor. "That's dangerous."
"I think the opposite, it makes me faster, so I can avoid getting hit." I told her. "Also, my mana barrier itself is like armor." When I told Tess about being in white core, like everyone else, she was in shock.
"I suppose." She nodded her head. "You should, uhh, run some water on your face." I couldn't tell if there was blood on it, I was so used to it. "You have blood on it."
"Thanks." I conjured water in my head and placed my face in it. "Better?" I asked her as I finished.
"Yeah, much better." As she finished speaking, a soldier screamed out, and it startled me.
"I need help over here." We both stood up, and I was in shock. There was a soldier, holding another soldier in his arms. No, today is the day, Arthur is truly coming back today.
My heart started to race; my brother was coming back. "Let's go." Tess started to walk toward them, but I was still frozen, in shock. "Veer." She turned back to me, and I snapped out of it.
"Coming." We both jogged over, but the medical team already was there, and they helped him to the medical tent. "We should give him time." I told Tess as we watched them carry the man.
"We should check up on hims first, maybe something happened." Tess began to walk, and I spoke up.
"Tess, he's by himself, away from his team, I think something did happen." I walked next to her. "They probably found the mutant."
"You think?" She asked as we stopped in front of the medical tent, Drogo came rushing in. "Commander Drogo."
"Princess." He walked into the tent, and we followed. "What's the issue?"
"He won't be waking up any time soon." The doctor or nurse, I don't know, told us all. "And this isn't a place to talk among friends." She looked at Tess and me, and I turned my head away from her.
"It's fine, we want to see what happened." Tess spoke up, and we stood in front of the man as they began to wrap him up. "His feet?" They looked worn down, really worn down.
"He's most likely been running for a while, maybe away from mana beast or Alacryans." The doctor told us as she wrapped an area with cuts on his arm.
I stepped up. "Mind me taking care of this?" They all looked at me questioningly while I activated "Blood Oath" and spoke again. "I'm not trying to be rude, it's just I can help."
"What do you mean?" Drogo faced me, he didn't know my powers, so it made sense. "The doctors should help him, kid."
"Veer has healing magic." Tess answered for me. "He can wake the man up now."
"Yeah, sorry, I didn't explain, I can use my blood magic to close wounds and ease the pain." I told them, I used it on Tess before when she was injured.
"Go ahead." The doctor or nurse took a small step back, and I nodded my head as I began to close his wounds and heal him with his blood, it only took about a minute, before the man shot up. "Oh, my!"
"Where am I! Am I back?!" The man shouted, staring at us all. I kept on healing him, as the conversation continued.
"Calm down, it's Sayer, right?" Drogo spoke up, Tess watched from my side.
"Yes, Commander." Sayer rubbed his head, feeling better because of me.
"We need to know what happened." Drogo ordered, not with a strict tone though. The doctor was still amazed that I healed him that fast, but she grabbed a cup of water, and handed it to the man.
He drank it, then went on. "My team is all dead." He looked at the ground. "We were ambushed by Gnolls, but they weren't normal ones, they were stronger, faster, it was scary, I only survived because I hid for days in a hole." Mutated gnolls? Or just stronger ones, I guess it doesn't matter. "But sir, I believe we found it, the mutated mana beast, there was a giant door behind them that they were guarding."
"Are you serious!" Tessia exclaimed.
"Where was it?" Drogo asked the man.
"We set up the teleportation gate before anything happened, it will take us there." Sayer told us, but I knew this. "We found the S Class mutant."
"Oh my god." Tess turned to me. "We can clear this dungeon today."
"But sir, there were hundreds of gnolls." Sayer's eyes told us that he was worried for us. "The gate is set up two floors before the doors, so you are going to have to clear a floor, before making it to the main floor."
"I understand, Sayer, get some rest, we will take care of it." Drogo put a hand on his shoulder. "You did a good job today." He turned to me. "Mind helping us out?"
"Of course." I wasn't going to miss Arthur sitting on the throne of corpses if he was here, I didn't sense him yet. "I wouldn't let all of you have all the fun."
"Good, I'll make the announcement soon, I would go prepare yourselves." Drogo told us, and I knew we were only going to have to kill maybe three hundred of the gnolls, Arthur had the rest under control.
"Yes sir." Tess turned to leave; I was pretty much ready. I would go on ahead, but I didn't want to kill them to fast, and get there before Arthur did. I followed Tess out, as we made our way back to her tents. "Looks like I washed up for nothing."
"Ha, it's good I didn't wash up." I needed my cloak, then I would be ready. "Oh, look, everyone is back." Standing, putting stuff away was Darvus, Stannard, and Caria, who all turned to us as we approached them.
"What happened with that guy?" Darvus asked first.
"I would put your gear back on, it looks like we are going back in." Tess told them, and I bent over and grabbed my cloak. "Someone found the mutant, everyone is going to be going in together, all one hundred of us." This is going to be boring, the first part, when we Arthur, it will pick up.
"I'm going to go and tell Helen." I told them all, and parted ways. I walked over to where my tent was with the Twin Horns, and they were all sitting there. "Hey guys."
"Veer, what's going on, I heard about the guy that came in?" Angela asked me, as they all turned to me.
"I would get ready, that guy's team found the mutant, Drogo wants us to go in today, and kill it together." All their eyes widened in shock. "We'll be fighting another mutant together, again." No, we won't, but they don't know that.
That's when it hit me, Arthur! I felt him, he was here, in the dungeon, with us. A smile appeared on my face for a split second. "Should we be worried you are smiling, thinking about the mutant?" Adam asked, probably thinking back to the Sand Demon, where I didn't listen to him, and did my own thing.
"No, sorry, I was thinking about something else." I told him.
"Okay, let's get ready then." Helen ordered her team, and they all began to do their own things. I walked into my tent and took a quick seat. I closed my eyes, and sensed for Arthur again, around him, was the horde of mana beast, I felt them dying one after another.
"Everyone!" Drogo shouted; he was making the announcement. "We have found the mutant, everyone has ten minutes to get ready, then we are charging in!" I heard the camp erupt.
I opened my eyes, stood up and exited the tent, soldiers were running around, preparing themselves, some were worried, some were happy to be leaving, I wanted to tell them that we were going to be fine, but they weren't going to take a kid's word, even if I was the strongest person here.
I started to walk toward where Drogo was, he looked ready to go already. "Drogo, you mind me tagging along in the front with you?" I asked him, wanting to get to the mana beast first, so I could kill them, and keep people from dying.
"That's fine with, Virion, it will be nice to have you leading everyone, they all know who you are." The camp, which was normally quiet to a degree, was louder than ever.
"Thanks." I ran a hand through my hair, getting excited, Tessia walked over to us. "Tess, you ready?" I asked her, she had on her elven armor, and her sword was on her side.
"Yes." She answered. "We are all set to leave, Commander Drogo."
"Good." He responded, and I could see that Caria and Darvus were nervous, the looks on their faces told me, Stannard seemed composed, they have been through a lot. In the novel they don't get attacked by Alacryans in the dungeons so early.
"Tess, you should go talk to your team." I told her. "I know you are the youngest, but you are the leader." I pointed at Darvus. "Look at Darvus and Caria, they are nervous, go and support them."
"They are fine, it's good to be nervous before a fight." Tess was right, something I didn't think about often. "You know, not all of us were born lucky enough to have Blood Deviant powers."
"Haha, I know." I squatted down and began to stretch, I was going to need to fight a little.
After about five minutes, the Twin Horns joined us, and then people started to pile in, getting ready to leave. It was only matter of minutes now, I was going to see Arthur, and then the real battles were going to begin.
"Let's move out!" Drogo screamed, and some of the soldiers roared in excitement.
