Chapter 115: Return Back

My Beginning After the EndWords: 12017

"I would get Arthur and your father and come with me." My mother knocked on the door, and went inside, I heard her explain what was going on, and the three of them quickly came back outside.

"Lead the way." Arthur said, not knowing the directions most like. I sensed that my clone was coming back, I could give it more mana, or just replace it.

We all started to walk toward the teleportation gate at a steady pace in silence. Elder Virion and Arthur were in front, I walked beside my mother and father.

The door that leads to the teleportation gate was open, guards were everywhere on the walls, soldiers from the dungeon kept on coming out of the portal, it looked like they were all tired, some even had their weapons in their hands.

"There's Helen." Arthur pointed at the leader of the Twin Horns. She was walking down the platform that led to the portal frame. Her bow was on her back, her armor was broken, but she looked angry.

"Helen!" My mother and father made their way over to her. The look of anger faded away at the sight of all of us. Arthur and I joined our parents, leaving Elder Virion behind as he stared at the portal waiting for Tessia.

"It's good everyone is okay." Arthur told her as she hugged each of us. "Well, not everyone, but you —-"

"I know what you mean, Arthur." Helen laid a gentle hand on his shoulder.

"I should have stayed behind; I could have helped." Arthur said with a sorrowful tone.

"Don't think like that." Helen told him. "Veer, you saved a lot of people, with your clone, I didn't think it was necessary, but it appears it was." She spoke, but as she did, you could tell she was tired.

"Good thinking." My dad nudged me.

"Helen, let's get you to the medical wing to rest." My mother grabbed her arm and began to escort her out of the room.

That's when I walked through the portal, well, my clone of me with a cloak on, and the hood up. "Ahh, here."

My father, Arthur, and I started at my approaching figure. "That's your clone?" Arthur said.

"Yep." The clone answered standing in front of us. "Before you ask, I have my own consciousness, but I do as I am told to do."

"Oh." Arthur didn't know how my spell worked. "What exactly happened?"

The clone of me spoke. "As we were leaving, a massive horde appeared, and started attacking the soldiers unexpectedly. I jumped in and started to use ice magic, slaughtering them, while I did that, I used illusion magic to buy some time for the other soldiers. The older adventurers stayed back with me as I did. My orders were to make sure no one we knew died, so I made sure to protect the Twin Horns and Tessia."

"Veer, what about everyone else?" Arthur asked me, probably upset I let others die, so the people we cared about lived.

"It's a clone, it can't protect everyone." I told him honestly. "But it tried its best." I reached my hand out, and canceled out the spell, causing blood to fall to the ground. "The clone served its purpose."

"I guess you're right." Arthur agreed with me, the clone didn't have my strength, it probably had silver core strength, with ice and illusion powers. "Where's Tess?"

"Her team was behind the clone." I knew this because I had all the memories the clone had.

That's when the portal shined like it did usually, and Tessia walked through. I watched as Arthur shot toward her as fast as he could and hugged her immediately.

"He loves her." My father said to me as the two of us watched.

"Yeah, I think so." We made our way over to them. "Tess." I said with a smile as she parted away from Arthur and hugged me. "It's good to see that you are okay."

"Veer, thanks." She shot me a smile, and the rest of her team came through. "Mr. Leywin." She nodded toward him.

"Princess." He bowed his head.

Tessia seemed to be in an okay state, her armor was filled with blood, but her body was shivering, like she was cold or tired, I didn't know. "Arthur, I think you should take her out of here, I'll wait for her team."

"Tessia." Elder Virion said walking up to us and hugged her. "You're okay."

"Gramps, Veer is right, let's get her out of here." Arthur told him and rested an arm behind Tessia to help her walk away.

"I'm fine, I should stay and wait for everyone." She almost toppled over, but Arthur kept her up.

"Veer will wait for them." Arthur assured her.

"Come on, Tess." Elder Virion wrapped an arm around her other side. "Arthur is right, Veer will make sure everyone is alright."

"I will." I nodded, and the three began to walk away. Elder Virion and Arthur shot me a thankful glance, and that's when I activated "Blood Oath."

As they were walking away, I started to heal Tessia, and then I started to spread magic all around, to all the soldiers in pain and hurt. I healed as many people as I could, all at the same time, sending blood to their wounds and closing them.

"Dad, you should go with mom." I told him, he should be with Helen.

"Are you sure? I can wait here with you."

"I'm sure, I know you want to check up on Helen." I motioned for him to leave, I could stand here alone, the soldiers knew me.

"Okay, we will be in the medical wing, come when you can." I nodded at my father, and he walked away.

That's when Stannard walked through the portal, his armor broken down, blood all over him, how could a conjuror be hurt this bad, my clone didn't even see him get injured.

I pushed blood magic into him as soon as I saw him, and reached out a hand, his eyes widened at the sight of me. "Veer, are you healing me right now?"

"I-I am trying to heal everyone." He took my hand, and I helped him down the platform. I never attempted to heal this many people at the same time, it was tiring, concentrating as hard as I could. "Where's Darvus and Caria?"

"There behind me." Stannard said as I let go of him. That's when they came out of the portal, Darvus and Caria were covered in guts and grime. I healed them both and reached out a hand for Caria to take.

"Veer." She said as she took steps towards us.

"Devil, I saw you there, but I'm assuming it was a clone now." Darvus said as he walked beside her, at least everyone was in good shape to an extent.

"Darvus, it good to see that all of you are okay." I kept on pushing blood magic into everyone that I sensed had injuries, which at the moment was over thirty people. "Arthur took Tessia out of here, most likely to the medical wing."

My head started to hurt, probably from healing this many people at once. "Okay, do you want us to stay here, I can see whatever you are trying to do is making you tired." Caria rested a hand on my shoulder. "You shouldn't push yourself to heal everyone."

"I know, but I can." It was nice practice, when I am in a real battle, and we start losing soldiers, I can try and prevent that. "We should move away from the portal, if you want to stay with me." The three of them were in bad shape, but the wounds they had were healing already and they were regaining strength.

"Okay." The four of us moved away, I kept on healing everyone, and I started healing anyone who came through the portal. Caria looked around the room. "There's over forty people here, are you actually healing everyone?"

"Yep." I told her, starting to feel a little tired. "It's fine though, you three were just in a serious battle. You should sit down, and rest."

"Brat, we can handle ourselves, you're lucky we are staying here with you." Darvus bent over, his wounds were healed.

"Hey Darvus, watch what you call me, I saved your life." I told him as I helped Caria to the ground, and the three sat down.

"Shut up." Darvus said jokingly.

"You save a lot of lives, even if it wasn't you." Caria told me, motioning me to sit down. "Heal people down here with us."

"Fine." I sat down next to Caria. "That has to be it, no one else should be coming through the portal." The portal was silent for about a minute, no one walked through, and I assumed I was right. "No one leave this room!" I shouted from the ground, causing literally everyone to turn to me. "If you haven't notice, I'm the one who is currently healing each one of you individually!"

That's when I heard voices start to chatter.

"It's the Devil of Dicathen."

"He is the one who took dungeons by himself."

"No, he is the one who killed the one hundred Alacryans."

"Don't listen to them, focus on healing them." Caria told me, reassuring what I was doing.

"Jeez, I am so tired." Darvus laid back. "Can't you heal my energy."

"That's not how my healing magic works." I told the man. "You should know that."

"I know." He sighed as he laid on the ground.

This was getting tired some, even in white core, healing each individual, is hard, even with blood magic. "Veer, I have a question, and I know that this is the worst time to ask it, but I'm trying to keep my mind off of everything."

I turned to Stannard, wondering what this was about. "What is it?" I asked as I activated my ring, absorbing mana quickly.

"I think I speak for everyone, Teasia speaks so highly about Arthur and you of course, but she speaks as if she loves him." Haha, I'm eleven, they want to speak about this stuff, at this very moment. "Do you know how Arthur feels about her?"

"He loves her too." I said, now looking at the soldiers resting either on the wall or on the ground, feeling my magic working. "But it's, it's complicated."

"How? Tell him to man up." Darvus told me from the ground still. "He's so powerful like you, but he can't tell a girl how he feels."

"I know what you are saying." I answered. "But he has had every opportunity to do so."

"So, he's a pussy." I could see a slight smile form on his face from the ground.

"Darvus!" Caria hit his leg.

"I wouldn't call him that, he could kill you." Stannard mentioned Arthur's strength. "He is like Veer in strength, which we know is super strong."

"I know, but he can't talk to a girl." Darvus rested his hand on his forehead, still tired from the fight.

I finished, all wounds healed, everyone in here was going to be perfectly fine. I released my grip on everyone, feeling tired, and leaned back.

"I am done." I told the three of them. "Can you tell everyone they are good to go now?" I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath.

Caria shouted. "You all should be good and healthy now, get some rest!" I opened my eyes, and we were all still in a circle.

The soldiers looked at me with respect, and I gave them all a quick nod. The real war was about to begin, all the Twin Horns were alive, I had the respect of my fellow soldiers even though I was a kid, and I was excited about that.

"Good job, you did everything you could." Stannard told me, he was a nice guy. "I know the real you wasn't there, but the clone you sent was shooting ice in every direction."

"Yeah, well, if I gave the clone all my abilities, I'm sure that a lot more people would have survived." I wasn't feeling guilty or anything, but it was the truth.

"Don't say that." Caria nudged me. "You did everything you could, leaving a clone behind wasn't necessary."

"It was." I told her, it made sure Adam survived, something that doesn't happen in the novel. "It made sure that all of you survived, that's why I put it there." Truthfully, I didn't send the clone to protect these three, it was supposed to protect the Twin Horns and Tessia.

I was happy that it didn't matter, I made sure Adam survived, and the rest played its part. Everyone I knew survived, that's the good thing. I would have felt bad if any of the people in front of me died, but it is what it is.

Now, I need to focus on the war ahead.

Tessia still doesn't know that Cynthia is alive, maybe not completely well, but her curse was lifted. I'm sure she will be happy about that.

I need to create a white core clone with almost all my mana, and place it within the Twin Horns, that way, it can protect everyone, especially if my parents were joining the war.

My dad was not going to die, if he did, the Alacryans here in Dicathen would feel my wraith, and Agrona would die painfully. It didn't matter to me if he was some god, if my dad died or anyone else I loved, I would bring chaos down on him.
