Arthur looked at me as I released his wrist, but Cadell spoke. "How would someone your age know that? Now that I think about it, you knew my name beforehand, Lesser."
"It doesn't matter, we are going to kill you." Arthur's sword hissed with energy, I think it was ice and electricity. He was already in his second phase, so he was ready to fight. "There's no way I am going to let you take my brother back with you!"
I stepped up so I was now next to Arthur and activated "Blood Monarch."
Scales grew on me, runes appeared below my eyes, my hair turned red, my energy and power rose, this felt good. I pulled three tubes of blood out of my mana ring and pulled the blood out of them using my blood magic. I had the blood circle both of my arms as we stood there waiting to start the battle.
I also activated "Scarlett Eyes" and felt my sense of blood, and everything else enhance.
"If you actually think you can stop me from doing what I have to, you are as foolish as any other Lesser." Cadell tilted his head and looked directly at me. "Today, Dicathen will lose a Lance, and another one will be too broken to continue fighting."
"Na." I shook my head. "There's zero chance I'm coming back with you." I told him, forming a blood sword in my right hand.
"Veer, I'll go right, you go left." Arthur told me. "Sylvie's going to support us from above." I could feel the rage coming off of them still, but they were doing a great job holding it back. "We need to get your water mana into him."
"I know." I answered, raising my left hand into the air, but before I could perform a spell, Cadell vanished before us, and appeared in front of me, swinging his sword at my head. "Haha." I laughed as I ducked under his blade, Arthur shot at him, swinging his blade at his ribs.
A black spike shot out of the ground at Arthur before his blade could even reach him, I shot myself at Cadell, swinging my blood sword at his knee, a spike appeared, I liquefied my blade, and it passed right through the spike, then reformed it as it got closer to Cadell.
Noticing my blade, Cadell back stepped, I extended the end of my sword toward him, trying to puncture his armor, but countless spikes grew, causing Arthur and I to retreat a little. I raised my left hand and conjured rain, not a lot of rain, but a slow mist that covered the field, this will allow me to push my water mana into him if we manage to cut him.
"Nice." Arthur said, vanishing and appearing before Cadell, swinging his sword, I felt a spell building up in him, so I reached into his core and disrupted it, causing the spell to deform for a second.
It was exactly as I thought, I could only control his core for mere moments, but that might be good enough. Arthur swung his blade and dodged the attacks Cadell threw at him as best as he could.
I shot myself into the mix, swinging my sword at him as Arthur attacked as well. Cadell brought his sword down on me as he kicked Arthur in the stomach sending him backwards, but his sword was stopped as a bolt of energy shot down from the sky making him back away from me.
I conjured a ball of fire and shot it at him, but it hit nothing, and went into the woods behind Cadell. My mist spell still going on, drenching the ground with water as we fought in this field of grass.
Arthur in an instant appeared next to Cadell, swinging his teal sword at him, I dug into his body, stopping him from moving for a second, but it wasn't enough. He still managed to dodge the attack by back stepping, and then swung his sword at Arthur's back as his momentum took him past Cadell.
However, the blade was stopped by me as I appeared before him, stopping his blow with my sword, our blades crashed together, and I sent the Scythe a smile. "Honestly, you should go into your gas form, because this is a bit underwhelming." I lied of course; his movements were quick.
"Tch." Cadell lifted his leg up to kick me, but I spun away from his sword and leg to his side and sent my sword into his ribcage as Arthur launched himself at Cadell's head over top me. I felt a spell forming around his body, and disrupted his core, giving us time to strike him, but yet again, Cadell regained control of his core, this time sending black flames out of his body toward Arthur and I, causing us to slow our attack as I disrupted his core again to get rid of the flames.
The flames stopped, and Arthur and I continued our attack, our blades in unison, swung at the Scythe as he brought his own blade down on us. My sword liquefied as it was about to hit his, Arthur's hit air as Cadell brought a spike up out of the ground toward his core, making Arthur dodge out of the way.
My sword reformed as it passed through Cadell's sword, and as his sword came down on me, I twirled my body out of the way, but kept my blade on track to hit him in the ribs. I formed multiple daggers of ice behind him, sending them at his back as I attacked his front. Arthur appeared on the other side of him, and Cadell now had three attacks coming at him, with no way to stop it this time.
As we got closer, I dug into his core and disrupted his flow of mana, knowing he was going to use a spell at some point to stop us, but in an instance he was gone, appearing behind me, I quickly stopped my ice daggers in the air, dropped them to the ground, spun toward Cadell, and dodged a long black sword coming for my head.
I shot wind magic out of my feet, launching me away from Cadell, and toward Arthur who was gathering himself. I landed next to him, and we stared at the Scythe as he turned to us, I was fighting a Scythe, this was terrifying, yet, for some reason I was having fun now.
"Veer, this is not working." Arthur told me, then looked up at Sylvie, nodded his head, and like a rocket she shot herself down at the Scythe, tackling him. "Sylvie is going to try to wound him, do your best if you see an opening and get your water mana inside of him."
"I will." I answered, manipulating the mist I had coming down, pushing it towards him even more, trying to make sure that if Sylvie managed to claw him at all, I was ready to inject him with water so I could manipulate his body even more.
Sylvie, in a matter of moments, was thrown like a rag doll into the trees on the other side of the forest, Cadell was not hurt. I could feel Arthur get worried for Sylvie's health, I was too, but there was no way Agrona would allow Cadell to kill her, right?
"Is she alright?" I asked Arthur, knowing he had a mental link to her, but before he could respond, Cadell appeared before him, I jumped in between, knowing Arthur wasn't able to keep up with him. "Haha." I laughed as I blocked his sword, Arthur was standing behind me and jumped up and swung his sword at the Scythe's head.
Cadell swatted my blood sword away, I rolled away from the fight, and watched as Arthur's blade went right past the Scythe. Cadell sent a kick into his back and sent him into the ground like it was nothing.
"Pathetic." Cadell spat. "You two are truly just like any ordinary Lesser."
"Shut up." I said, standing five yards from him, the adrenaline in me was pumping. "Honestly, Cadell, I thought you be a little stronger." I shrugged. "But this has just been disappointing."
"You won't get a reaction out of me, Lesser." Cadell tilted his head at me. "Is that how you defeated Uto, you managed to anger him?" I shook my head; I did get lucky with him though. "It doesn't matter, I'm going to break you."
"Do it." I said, launching myself at the Scythe, bring my sword to his blade, liquefied it again, reformed it as it passed through, spikes were about to grow rapidly around me, but I disrupted his core before it did. My blade nicked his armor as he took a step back, causing slight damage to it, but no wound.
His magic came back to him, and he began to send countless attacks toward me, from shadow spikes to soul fire, and just a swing of his sword.
As I was dodging these attacks with ease, I realized something, I was able to keep up with the Scythe, maybe not fully with power and speed, but I was doing perfectly fine right now without Arthur's help.
Soulfire shot passed me as I dodged it, and Arthur came at Cadell from behind, swinging his sword at his head with mana surrounding it. The blade went past him, Cadell shot a spike up and it managed to cut Arthur right in the left leg.
He landed on the ground to the right of Cadell, and I could sense the small amount of blood coming out of him, so I reached into his body and started to heal him using my blood magic. It wasn't a major wound, which made healing it easy for me.
Arthur nodded to me, sensing what I was doing for him, and Sylvie shot herself out of the forest toward Cadell. He turned to the dragon, and as he went to send soulfire and spikes at the speeding figure, I dug into his core and disrupted his mana, and Sylvie reached him, her claws gripped him and picked him up into the air.
His blade rose up to cut her, but I held his arm in place, making sure the blade didn't hurt Sylvie at all. They flew over the forest for a second, but Sylvie dropped Cadell as soulfire managed to get inside of her.
Cadell floated in the air, around one hundred yards from Arthur and I, and we watched in shock as Sylvie fell from the sky, and collided with the ground, resulting in a giant quake that shook the forest.
"Sylvie!" Arthur and I shouted, that's not good, really, and my rain spell didn't reach where he was currently at, it felt like Sylvie managed to cut him, but I was unable to get any water mana inside of him before his wounds closed.
Cadell turned back to us and started to fly over. "Sylvie is fine, she says that something inside of her is burning, but she is using her aether to help heal herself." Arthur told me.
"Okay, well, our plan to injure him isn't really working." I admitted, we finally injured him, but it didn't matter. I felt him fly into my rain spell and get closer to us. "But there really isn't much else we can do."
"Yeah." Arthur agreed. "We can go faster..."
"What?" I asked him, confused.
"I can try to get into phase three of my Beast Will." Arthur spoke and I immediately shook my head, knowing what would happen if he did.
"You can't, you'll die, or seriously injure yourself." I bit my lip, trying to think of something. "You don't have a body of an Asura yet, that's how you defeat Cadell."
"What?!" Arthur exclaimed.
"I'll explain it later." I stepped up. "However, we don't know what happens if I try to get into phase three, if I even have one."
"Wait, wait, wait." Arthur grabbed my shoulder, Cadell was now flying above us, ten yards away, just watching. "If you say I'll die going into phase three, then you can't either."
A sword came at me, I brought my blade up, blocked it, formed another blade in my left hand, swung it at Cadell's ribs. "I was talking dammit." I said as my blade cut his armor again, but not him, and he sent a fist at my face.
"Duck!" Arthur screamed, I fell to the ground, his fist went over my head, and Arthur blade went into his fist, causing the Scythe to bleed slightly. I immediately pushed water mana into his wound as it quickly healed, and like it didn't matter, Cadell erupted, soulfire shot out of him towards us both.
I launched myself into it, instead of going away, like Arthur did, disrupting his core, causing the fire to disappear as it hit me, some did hit me, but I didn't allow it to get inside of me. I stood in front of Cadell, his red eyes widened slightly, my two blood swords were sent at his chest, I had the small amount of water mana that was inside of him course throughout his body, toward his core, I was going to blow it up, as my swords got closer, he back stepped, causing my momentum to take me to the side of him.
Cadell grabbed my wrist as I was going past him, causing me to lose my handle on the blood sword. Instead of reforming the blade, I sent the blood at the Scythe, but as he was picking me up into the air, his body where the blood was going to hit, became some sort of gas, and my blood went right through him.
"Hahaha, pussy!" I said as I looked at him, being held up into the air, that's when I felt Arthur launch himself at the Scythe, however, it was too late to stop what he had planned for me. "Ahhh!" I screamed as I fell to the ground, my arm shattered, completely broken.
"I told you I was going to end you two today." Cadell went to kick me, but I deformed my blood sword and formed a blood shield, blocking his attack, and shot myself away from him, landing on my knees.
I had the blood circle my body as I held my arm, going in the wrong direction. "Hahahaa." I laughed in pain as Arthur went toe to toe with the Scythe alone. "This bitch." I quickly started to use blood healing to help with my arm, but I couldn't use it to exactly heal a bone.
I'm done, I stood up. "Hahaa." I released more of the Serpent's Will, giving over more of my core and mind, needing more power right now. I formed a blood sword in my hand. "Screw it." I started to conjure illusions throughout the field, countless replicas of myself as Arthur got thrown to the ground by the Scythe and backed away from him.
I walked over to him as the Scythe stared at me, and my illusions that just stood there motionless. "Are you okay?" Arthur asked with a worried expression. "Y-your arm is --"
"Broken, yeah I know." I answered, now standing next to him.
"I'm going to have Sylvie get you out of here, I'll buy you enough time to make it back to the Floating Castle." Arthur stepped up, but that's when I had my illusions attack Cadell, shooting different spells at him, and swinging their fake swords through him.
I made Arthur and I invisible to his eyesight and had the illusions mess with him. "Arthur, he can't see us at the moment, he can sense us slightly, but that's it." I got into a position to strike him. "I'm going nowhere, have Sylvie get over here when she can, I have the water mana around his core, but it's not enough, I need more if I want to do anything."
"She's wrapping up her healing, but she isn't at one hundred percent." He peeked at me. "Neither are you, that's why the two of you should leave."
"Who said I wasn't at one hundred percent?" I vanished before him and made my way toward Cadell with my broken arm slinging on my side.
