Arthur and I were currently flying on top of Sylvie as we had just left the battlefield and were making our way to the Floating Castle after our tragic fight with the Scythe Cadell. I thought it was a pretty good fight though.
I didn't get totally whooped, well, sort of, I did break a couple bones, get tossed like a rag doll, and forced into retreating, but still. good fight. Arthur and Sylvie couldn't really help, he was still in silver core, and Sylvie just began her process of awakening her true powers, so she was still somewhat weak.
"You good, Veer?" Arthur asked as I sat in front of him on Sylvie.
"Yeah, perfect." I answered sarcastically. "Let's not tell our parents that I got snapped like a twig." I shook my head as the wind hit my face, Sylvie wasn't going super fast for some reason.
"I agree." Arthur replied, paused, and then continued. "Let's talk."
That's why Sylvie wasn't going fast, this was the perfect time for us to chat. "About me being a reincarnate?"
"Yes." We were above the clouds; it was so calming up here. "So, what was your name back on Earth?"
"Luke." I answered honestly, not needing to hide anything anymore. "I know yours, Grey, King Grey, actually, mind me asking a question?"
"Go ahead."
"What was it like being a King? I've heard stories, but I want to hear it from you." I was curious, I knew that if I had a choice, I would want to be a King of a country.
"It was...tough." He answered. "I had my reasons, I stuck to those reasons, in the end I might not have gotten what I wanted, but I'm happy now with you and our family."
"If I remember correctly, it was because of someone named Wilbeck, the person who ran the orphanage you grew up in." There was no need to hold anything I knew back, I was planning on telling him everything, it was time he knew.
"Yes...Veer how do you know about all of this?" Arthur was confused, which was completely fine. "I don't remember knowing any Lukes in my past life."
"Arthur, what I am about to tell you might blow your mind, and, actually, now that I think about it, you might be mad at me, maybe not." I scratched my chin with my good arm, then went on. "So, if I am right, this is some multiverse shit, or something similar, because you are from Earth, and I am from Earth, but I am from a different one. I don't know how the damn science works, like I told you, I was ten when I died, I've never been an adult."
"You are from a different Earth?" Arthur asked, there was no other way to describe it.
"Yes."
"Okay, okay, I get that, sort of, but that doesn't explain how you know about me."
"Shit!" I spoke. "Sylvie, hold up." We froze in the air, flying in one place. "I just remembered something; this will go with your question." I spun around and faced my brother. "Arthur, this is somewhat difficult to say, but in my world, I want to say this world, but realistically, it's your life, in my world your life is a novel, a legit novel, it follows your journey in this world."
"What?!" Arthur exclaimed, utterly shocked.
"It didn't follow everything, but at times you see your thoughts, conversations with Sylvie, basically it was like people were reading about your life here." He was just staring at me, I understood this is hard to take in. "I would describe it like a history novel; however, I was placed into this world with you."
"Let me get this straight, you are from a world, where it followed my life as a King, and then as a mage here?"
"Pretty much." It's the truth.
"That's how you know everything." Arthur's eyes widened. "How far ahead does this novel go?"
"I don't really know the exact years anymore, I knew when I was brought into this world the war started within ten years, so I had to get stronger, which I was able to, because I had more knowledge coming to this world than anyone has." I looked to the ground, and then said. "All I know is that in the novel, we lose this war, this war, people do die, we lose a lot Arthur, like a shit ton, however, the last thing I read, you bring hope back to Dicathen."
"We lose?" Arthur said sadly, trying to comprehend everything, but he was doing a good job of that.
"Also, I might as well say this, in the novel, mom only has Ellie and you, I was never born." I haven't even gotten to the good stuff yet, which was bad stuff now since I was here.
"I'm sure she is happy that she had you." Arthur rested a hand on my shoulder. "You honestly deserved a second chance, dying at the age of ten, I'm happy you're my brother, I think you make everyone happy actually."
"Well, thanks." I looked at him and smiled. "In my world, the way our government and everything worked was so much different than yours, there was no such things as duals, the closest things to them might have been elections, but that wasn't to the death." I shrugged. "There was no Ki, mana, there was nothing, everyone was born without powers, unlike your world, and this one."
"Interesting." Arthur pulled his hand back and shook his head. "What else?"
"Let me think, well, I pretty much know the powers of all our enemies, not all, but most." I didn't know the extent of some people's powers, but I knew of them. "Like the person who was supposed to be here today, Retainer Jagrette, she has acid based powers, you defeated her here in the novel, so that's why I was worried when I sensed Cadell, I knew I changed something."
"I see, well, what have you changed so far that you know of." Arthur asked a very serious question, one that was going to lead to things coming to light.
"Umm, I was the one who took down Uto, you did it in the novel after you took down Jagrette, not right away, however, you did have help from someone." I bobbed my head back and forth. "I made sure Adam didn't die at that last attack where my clone protected them. I was involved at the attack on Xyrus, I fought in the dungeons while you were training with the Asuras, I mean realistically, I probably changed a shit tone by now."
"So, we don't know if your knowledge is good anymore."
I shook my head. "Not exactly, I still think the events are the same, I mean a Scythe showed up here still, maybe not a Retainer, but someone of great strength did." I shook my head, thinking of why I stopped us here. "Hold up, I forgot, in the novel, after you took down Jagrette, you investigate how the Alacryan force got through Darv without the dwarves saying anything, this is because most of Darv is already working with Alacrya, you go investigate, and you find another Scythe, Scythe Seris Vritra, a lovely woman, who in the future, if the time comes, you need to trust, she is truly on our side."
Oh, my clone just dissolved on Cadell's shoulder, let's hope he doesn't come looking for us, he probably won't though, he failed Agrona, haha.
"Scythe Seris? I know about the dwarves because of Olfred, but it's that bad." Arthur took in everything. "What exactly do I find?"
"Besides Scythe Seris, you find a tunnel with a teleportation gate with a number of soldiers around it, I don't really know the number." Now it's time to get into the hard stuff. "Rahdeas is a traitor, and I don't know why gramps made him the representative of Darv."
"But he was Elijah's adopted father." Arthur asked and I bit my lip and looked away. "What is it?"
"He was also the adopted father to Lance Olfred." I added and his eyes widened like he didn't know.
"What, that doesn't mean he's a traitor."
"Arthur, put two and two together which I know you can do." He doesn't need me to explain this.
"You think it was him who relayed information to Alacrya on our locations, so they could abduct you and take me down?" I nodded my head. "But then why would they take Elijah?"
"Well....."
"Just say it." Arthur said, trying to get me to talk.
"First, you've never asked me why there is a novel on you, so let me answer that first, it will, help I think." I processed everything, and then continued. "I'm sure you figured it out though to be honest, the novel was written about you, because you are supposed to be the savior of this world."
"I got that."
"But I believe at this point in the novel, you don't know how you got here." I told him, and he tilted his head at me.
"You do?"
"Arthur, Agrona was the one who reincarnated you." His eyes widened and Sylvie swung her large head sideways so one eye was on us.
"What?! That makes no sense!" Arthur didn't seem to understand this part.
"Don't freak out, this is going to be hard to take, like really hard to take, like you are going to question your sanity." I insisted, knowing he was about to freak out. "Agrona, reincarnated two souls from your world, you, and someone you were close to, Nico."
"Nico!" Arthur's eyes were still wide, he started to breathe pretty heavily, I was telling him his old best friend was here in this world. "What do you mean Nico is here?!" The look of either fear or sorrow was written across his face.
"Unlike you, which you will find out, Nico was reincarnated into the right body, one that Agrona could manipulate." Here we go. "Agrona's goal, is to reincarnate the Legacy."
"By the Legacy, you don't mean..." I nodded my head as he trailed off thinking about Cecilia. "Agrona wants Cecilia, why not reincarnate her like you said he did for Nico and I?"
"You knew how strong she was with Ki, imagine her in this world with mana, her soul was too powerful to just bring here." I also feel like, since she died, I don't know, like a couple years earlier before Grey did, it should be harder.
"Cecilia isn't here right now, right?" I shook my head. "Let me get this straight, Agrona reincarnated Nico and me, to reincarnate Cecilia, but he still can't, because he doesn't have me."
"Uhhh, no, well, somewhat right." I pointed at him with my good arm. "Agrona needed two anchors in this world first to bring Cecilia here, one being you." I stopped pointing at him. "And the other being Nico, the anchors needed to form some sort of bond with someone, or just be by them, I don't know, but whoever that was would be the vessel for Cecilia." I started to talk in a sorrowful tone. "Which is what this war is truly about to some extent, because there is a vessel for her."
"Who?" Arthur was slowly composing himself, but that was going to end real quick.
"Tess." I could feel the disbelief coming from Arthur and Sylvie right now.
"But you said that the two anchors needed to form a bond with someone, how would that be possible if Nico was never here." Arthur was looking at me with a worried expression, he was in love with Tessia, so it made sense.
"Arthur, you're going to be mad at me for what I am about to tell you." I answered him, and then began to speak again. "Nico was here, and you've actually spoken with him."
"No, don't tell me, Veer." He's putting two and two together pretty fast. "Elijah."
"Yes, Elijah was really Elijah, Agrona had Nico's memories wiped, and replaced them with new ones, so it wasn't really Nico, but now it is, and I know I probably should have said something, but it wouldn't have mattered."
"What do you mean? Of course, it mattered, I could have helped him, he could have stayed here, and fought with us." Arthur spoke aggressively now; he was feeling everything from sorrow to anger with me. "You knew that whole time, and yet you never said anything, Veer, we could have figured something out."
