"Arthur, you're going to be mad at me for what I am about to tell you." I answered him, and then began to speak again. "Nico was here, and you've actually spoken with him."
"No, don't tell me, Veer." He's putting two and two together pretty fast. "Elijah."
"Yes, Elijah was really Elijah, Agrona had his memories wiped, and replaced them with new ones, so it wasn't really Nico, but now it is, and I know I probably should have said something, but it wouldn't have mattered."
"What do you mean? Of course, it mattered, I could have helped him, he could have stayed here, and fought with us." Arthur spoke aggressively now. "You knew that whole time, and yet you never said anything, Veer, we could have figured something out."
"No offense, but no we couldn't, Nico hates you, Arthur, he absolutely hates you, like he will do anything to get to you, and end you, he does it in the novel, and I am sure he's still going to do it. However, it's not really because of you, Agrona has placed anger for you into him, so that he can be manipulated. Also, I was scared to say something to you, I didn't know how you were going to take it back then, now, obviously, I do, you understand what I've gone through." I told him, trying to explain myself.
Arthur was still trying to figure out how his old friend was here, but moved on to another hot topic. "That also means, you knew about Lance Alea's death." I nodded my head. "Veer, with this knowledge, you should have come to me, you had to of known I was going to understand, and we could have saved a lot more people."
"I know, I'm sorry." I spoke softly.
"In the novel, does Agrona get Tess?" I nodded my head slowly. "Where was I? Why didn't I stop it from happening?"
"It doesn't matter, you were gone." I answered.
"Gone where?"
"You were in Alacrya, you got teleported there after you fought Cadell and Nico at the same time with..." I hesitated. "Sylvie."
"Veer, what happens to Sylv?"
"She saves you by basically making you into an Asura, I don't know how it worked really, but I know it is costly, Sylvie becomes an egg again that needs to be filled up with aether, I don't know, it's complicated." This was true, I never really got to find out what happened, if Arthur ever got her back or not.
"Sylvie? Do you have this ability?" Arthur asked, and she nodded. "Don't ever use it, okay?" It went silent as the dragon looked away, not answering him, knowing she would do anything for him.
"Arthur, I know this is hard to process, but there are a couple other things, well, not really a couple." There was still a lot to tell him, some minor things, some bigger things.
"Wait, isn't telling me all of this going to change things?" Arthur brought up an excellent point, the look on his face though, it looked like he was overwhelmed with everything, I would stop, but I can't.
"Well, I figured things have already changed, so it doesn't matter." I shrugged at him and continued. "There were two other huge deaths in the novel, one I already changed, and another I have a plan to make sure nothing happens to him."
"Who?"
"During that attack last week, before the speech, Adam died, he got killed by mana beast, however, I made sure to keep a clone there to make sure that didn't happen."
"That's why the clone said his job was to protect the Twin Horns and Tessia." I nodded my head. "Nice work, I guess, who's the other?"
"Dad." His eyes widened in fear once again. "Don't worry I know how to prevent it."
"How does he die?" Arthur immediately asked.
"At the wall, a horde attacks, you are there, but because of someone's ego, plans change, and our father dies from a mana beast." I pretty sure it was someone related to Jasmine, not completely sure. "However." I lifted up my arm and flashed my phoenix bracelet at him. "I plan on slipping this on to him before that fight."
"What about you? You may need it." Arthur exclaimed, worried about me now. "If I understand, the truth is, some of the things you said are true, and won't change, but some other things will change, meaning anyone can die." Arthur ran a hand through his hair. "This so called novel has been rewritten, and you don't know what will happen." Arthur was a genius, so it makes sense he thinks like this. "You or I can die, anyone can, you have no clue anymore, everything has changed, and you don't know if it's for the best or worse, which isn't your fault, but we can't exactly trust everything you know anymore."
"I guess." I answered, knowing this was somewhat true.
"You may need that bracelet, and if dad does die at the wall, we can change that easily, we make sure Commander Virion doesn't send them there."
"True..." I didn't think about that. "Like you said though, they could die somewhere else." I needed to send another clone to wherever they were. "When we get back, I can summon a white core clone, just as powerful as me, and send it to protect them, eventually when it uses all of its mana it will die, but it will last for a while."
"Do that when your healthy, that's not a bad idea." Arthur admitted. "Okay, so what's next, what happens next after I was supposed to take down a Retainer?"
"You take down Uto." He couldn't do that anymore.
"How though? How do I get him to come out of hiding?"
"Rahdeas and Lance Olfred basically set it up, Aya takes down Olfred, while you are fighting Uto, but that can't happen now for multiple reasons." Olfred and Uto were in prison.
"You said I defeated him, right?"
"I did, but no, Sylvie and you get your ass handed to you by him, Scythe Seris shows up and takes him down, giving you his horns, which is what leads to you getting to white core, so make sure to absorb that mana as fast as you can, I know it's hard, but we need you at white core." I guess we could still do something, but before I said anything, Arthur spoke.
"If Rahdeas is still in the castle, we could use him."
"We could, but I forgot, after you defeat Jagrette, a party is held to show off her body, and make the people happy, but it's a ploy to see Rahdeas's reaction, however, at the same time it does give the people hope. You stand up there, pretending like you didn't even get hurt, saying how easy it was."
"Was it easy?"
"Oh no, your body has like acid marks all over it, but you do defeat her." He nodded his head, understanding.
"So, we can't do the party thing since we don't have anything to celebrate, we lost to Cadell." I shook my head. "What?"
"We did not lose, to be honest, we learned a lot, I would say that we won that fight."
"How so?" Arthur asked me, and I smiled at him.
"We know you need to get stronger, because without me there, you would have died in a matter of seconds." I didn't want to be rude, but it was the truth. "Also, we know I can stand up against a Scythe, I might not have been on the same level, but it wasn't like he was tossing me around like a rag doll the whole time, which also means I'm probably at a standstill with my power."
"You don't think you can get stronger?"
"I'm at white core, right, which means integration phase is next, in the novel there is very little information about it, honestly, the only thing I know about it is that it exists, and the reason Scythes are so strong, and Retainers is because they have Vritra blood." I leaned back on Sylvie's neck and looked up to the sky.
"Just keep on absorbing mana, that's the only way to get stronger." Arthur spoke and I faced him again. "It's not like you can become a Vritra blooded human, or dragon."
"I know." I answered, knowing there was a chance, but the odds where it would kill me, so I wasn't going to do that. "I know where we should go though, after we are healed."
"Where?" Arthur asked, and Sylvie began to fly slowly, trying to get us back to the Floating Castle.
"Ashber Town, there is an Alacryan hideout there, underground, we could show up, wipe them out, possibly see a Retainer there, I don't know. I mean, that's where you fight Uto, so the odds are there is someone else there, hopefully, not Cadell."
"Alright, that's not a bad idea, but first we have to deal with Rahdeas." Arthur was right, he needed to die as soon as we got back, that bitch was the one who probably told them that we were there. "Don't worry though, Veer, all of this stays between us, we won't let anything happen to Tess, and we will find a way to win this war."
"Thanks, Arthur."
"When we get back, I'll speak with gramps, inform him on Rahdeas, then we'll start from there." I nodded at Arthur, knowing this wasn't the worst idea. "Also, your ankle is going to need some major healing, it hurts me to look at."
"Why? Is it because it's facing the side?" I smiled, still hurting, but luckily, I had blood magic.
"Yes." He smiled at me. "Your blood healing is powerful, because I don't know how you don't feel that." I lifted up my broken arm. "You fought with a broken arm for a while too, which is impressive, it even looks better already."
"I can't just heal the bones, but I can push the blood to the wound to speed it up." It also helped with the pain but didn't just get rid of it. "Oh shit, now that we know they are also after me, what are we going to do about that?" I paused and then said. "Nothing?"
"No, we can use it with Rahdeas."
"Yeah, but that will only go so far." I wasn't going to hide if that was what he wanted. "It's only a matter of time when we face Cadell again, and next time, the odds are, Nico is with him, and obviously, that's going to be emotional for you, may mess with you, even if you say it won't, it probably will."
"We'll cross that road when the time comes."
"If we go by the novel, there are two retainers, and three Scythes involved in this war." I paused, not remembering if that one was involved anywhere, but I think it was after the war. "Cadell, Seris, Nico, Jagrette, and Cylrit. We know two of them won't hurt us in a fight, so there are only three."
"Two?"
"Oh yeah, Cylrit is Scythe Seris's Retainer, he is also on our side." I forgot to mention that. "It didn't seem like it while we were at the meeting, but he is."
"You say Agrona is manipulating Nico, can't we do something about that?" I knew Arthur would be upset with Nico being an enemy, but the only thing I could think of was to break his core.
"Breaking his core seemed to do something." I told him, knowing that it had some effect on him, that's when I remembered Elder Rinia's words. "It's weird though, Elder Rinia said something to me, she said I would be one of the Legacies, but that makes no sense, if I was a Legacy, wouldn't that mean someone had to of anchored me down to this world."
"Or you're a vessel." My eyes widened in fear, but then it quickly faded away.
"No that's not it, I can't be a vessel for Cecilia." I shrugged. "I can't be a vessel for anyone, I am already a reincarnate, if I had to guess, someone who knows more about reincarnation than Agrona brought me here, that's the only reasonable thing I can think of."
"You believe you are a Legacy?" I nodded at my brother, not knowing what I was, but I also remember Elder Rinia telling me I had to abandon my old beliefs, which is kind of scary to think about. "It would explain the blood powers."
"Exactly, and I assuming, Agrona thinks, the only threat to a Legacy, is another Legacy, but that would mean he knows I am a Legacy." If I can't get stronger, I don't see how I can compete with Cecilia though, if she is reincarnated.
"Maybe he can tell, or he thinks your blood magic is just that strong, which now, since you fooled a Scythe, may prove his point."
"Tch." I made a noise. "I wasn't even prepared for that, if I knew that Jagrette wasn't going to be there, I would have been fine, he caught me off guard."
"Veer, the Serpent's Will I gave you, it started to take over, didn't it?" I went silent, which told him the answer. "I can't lose you, Veer, you need to stay calm out there in the field, I can help you with that, I know you have a lot of power, but you need to be able to control it."
"I try, but sometimes I let go to make sure I win the fight." I didn't tell Arthur anything about the Asuras, it was something that could wait. "It's fine though, sometimes losing control for a little isn't bad, like today."
"Overtime it is." Arthur replied, and we went silent.
