Chapter 134: Back to the Castle

My Beginning After the EndWords: 11373

We sat in silence as we flew back to the Floating Castle, I was absorbing as fast as I could, so that I could heal myself, but Arthur told me that the odds are, mana won't be able to just correct my bones that fast, which made sense.

I wasn't in that much pain, I don't know how, but it was a relief. In my old world, an injury like this would be catastrophic, you would be bed rested for at least a couple months.

Whereas here, I should be up and going in a week, hopefully, don't really know.

"We're here." Sylvie said as the Floating Castle came into view, guards flew on bonds in front of the Castle, blocking the path as they prepared to fight us in case, we were enemies, but when they saw my brother and I, they quickly formed a path for us to enter.

"Generals." The guard in the front spoke, and as we passed them, they all began to salute us, which was pretty cool, but as they observed me, some of their eyes widened in curiosity, I mean my arm and leg were busted up pretty badly.

The doors that towered over us that led to the inside of the castle slowly opened up, and we entered into a large room where numerous people where, Captain Glory did send a message about our return, and what happened at the battle.

I was glad Captain Auddyr didn't do anything stupid, I know in the novel he thinks Arthur ran from the battle, but once he sees Jagrette's body, he realizes that he was wrong, but since we won that battle very easily, it was Captain Glory who came to see if we were okay.

I could see Elder Virion standing there by himself with a worried expression on his face, probably because he heard about the condition, I was in. I was surprised Arthur didn't get hurt that badly, it was because I was there. I'd say Arthur has a couple broken ribs and a lot of bruises, he also has some internal damage from the soulfire that needs to be healed a little more, but he will be fine.

The men and women in the room quickly stood up and rushed over to us, most likely to treat our wounds. "Don't try to walk on your leg Veer, and don't use magic, you need your mana." Arthur told me as we landed on the ground, and Elder Virion came to the side of Sylvie. The other people around us were hesitant, but they quickly followed behind Elder Virion.

"I heard what happened." Elder Virion spoke as Arthur slid down off of Sylvie toward him. "Are you two, okay? I can't believe a Scythe was there."

"We're fine." I said as I sat on top of Sylvie still, knowing that I couldn't walk at the moment.

"No, he's not." Sylvie spoke, surprising everyone in the room.

"He has a broken arm and leg, maybe some broken ribs like me as well; he's going to need medical attention." Arthur told Elder Virion, and his eyes widened as he examined me further.

"How are you okay right now?" He asked, then shook his head. "It doesn't matter, get him down and bring him to the medical wing." Elder Virion ordered the healers I assumed in the room, but before anyone could do anything, wind formed under me, picked me up and slowly moved me off of Sylvie and onto the ground.

Sylvie transformed into her small fox form and stood beside Arthur as three medics came over and started to help me. I was pretty sure these were Deviant mages, all with healing magic of some sorts.

"Arthur, how are you?" Elder Virion asked as I was laying on the floor being treated before they moved me. I could feel the woman on my right wrapping my leg in some sort of fabric, the man on my left was wrapping my arm in the same fabric, I wanted to show some sign of weakness, but I knew better, I pushed the pain of them messing with my arm and leg to the side, and closed my eyes as they did their jobs.

I spoke for Arthur. "He has a couple broken ribs, and some damage to him internally from the magic the Scythe was using."

"I'm fine though, nothing a little healing won't fix." Arthur replied, then added. "He took the most damage, but without him there, I would have died no question. Gramps there's a lot we need to discuss."

I thought it was my blood magic stopping the pain from setting in, but I was wrong, because as soon as I relaxed even more, the pain increased heavily. "Ahh." I said quietly, silencing everyone in the room.

"I think the adrenaline you had coursing through you is fading." Arthur spoke, shit, he was right, I can still push through this though, it's just a couple broken bones.

"I'm good." I answered, opening my eyes at the medics in front of me finishing wrapping my leg and arm.

"Let's move him." The female said, and then pulled out some sort of stretcher and laid it next to me, it was a little different from the ones in my old world but had same job. "You are going to be fine, General Virion." They slowly moved me onto the stretcher.

Elder Virion was now by my side as I was on the stretcher, they hadn't picked it up yet. "You did a good job today, Virion." He smiled down at me, it was nice hearing that from him. "Let's get you to the medical wing." Elder Virion turned to Arthur. "You too."

Sylvie jumped onto my chest and curled up as the medics picked the stretcher up and began to walk to the medical wing. Arthur and Elder Virion walked beside us. "I haven't heard all the details, so when you two are ready, we need to discuss what happened."

"You and I can go to the council room and do that, while they treat Veer, he knows everything that happened, so it's okay for him to miss this." Arthur told him, which was true, and to be honest, I didn't want to recap us losing.

"No, he needs to be healed as well." Sylvie said, still resting on my stomach as we walked the halls, it surprised everyone again.

"I'm fine, Sylvie." The two spikes that entered his legs were healed, that was because of me though, it didn't hit anything important, and I was able to close the wound quickly.

"She's right, have Fiona here, heal you up, I'll stay with Veer until your parent's and Ellie come to see you two." I knew it, of course he sent a message to them, it was so unnecessary, I was fine, just needed rest.

"Okay." Arthur said as we made our way down another hallway, and into the medical wing. "Veer, you did do good today, and understand that I am proud of you." Arthur said as I looked up at him, laying on the stretcher, and we stopped in front of a door.

"Thanks, Arthur." I said as the doors opened.

"Get some rest, we'll talk soon." Arthur spoke as the medics brought me into the room with Elder Virion, and Arthur and the other medics that came along with us, one being a girl named Fiona, went into the room next door.

"General Virion, here you go." The one female medic said as they all slowly dipped me into the bed, and I sat up straight. "Now, please, let us heal you properly." I nodded my head at them, and their hands began to light up like my mother's did when she used magic.

I made sure to absorb mana, I wanted to be back to normal as fast as possible, I'm going to Ashber to destroy the encampment there, hopefully, with Arthur's help, but I think he wants to use that as a way to thaw at Rahdeas.

"Virion, I can't believe Arthur and you fought a Scythe." Elder Virion spoke as he took a seat next to me. "However, I heard it was your plan to defeat the force they had coming towards the two divisions, casting an illusion spell that big is truly impressive."

"I had a good teacher." I admitted as Sylvie got up off of my chest and made her way to the couches in the room. "Sylvie, did Arthur send you in here to make sure I was okay?" I asked, curious why she was in here, and not with Arthur.

The fox turned to me and spoke in front of everyone. "No, I wanted to make sure you were okay myself." I smiled at the dragon. "I don't want my bond's brother to die on me."

"Oh, yeah, like I am in life threatening condition." I responded, causing Elder Virion and I to laugh a little. "Haha."

"It's so weird, the fact that Arthur's bond can speak." Elder Virion said. "But not a lot surprises me anymore."

"Sylvie, how long until your awakening process is done?" I asked her as the medics continued to do their job, I was feeling less pain, but with the adrenaline from the battle gone, I still felt some.

"I don't know." She responded, closing her eyes. "I'm taking a nap now, but don't think I'm not paying attention."

"Alright." I said jokingly, thinking it's funny how she's acting right now. "So, where's Aldir?"

Elder Virion shook his head. "I don't know at the moment, all he said was that he had to do something." I nodded, it wasn't this early in the war where the Asura's are forced into abandoning us, I'm pretty sure, not one hundred percent.

"Oh, okay." I responded as the medics backed away.

"Lionel, go get the potion from Fiona, General Virion is going to need it." The female medic seemed to be in charge here, she was giving out orders like it.

"On it." The man named Lionel made his way out of the room, I wonder what this potion was going to do.

"I sent word to your parents, so they should be here soon." Elder Virion said as the two medics still in the room continued to heal me. "And I had Ellie stay away from here until I knew you were okay; I didn't want her to see you all in shambles."

"It would have been fine; she's seen me in worst states." I was thinking back to Lucas, when he defeated me, actually, now that I think about it, that's the last time I actually lost a fight to someone where our lives were on the line. "But thanks, I know I keep ending up in this bed and worrying everyone, but I am trying my best to make sure this doesn't happen so often."

"You're fine, Virion, I think everyone understands that fighting a Scythe is no easy thing to do." Elder Virion said sincerely. "Next time though, try to win." He said jokingly, sending me a smile at the end.

"I will." I answered him anyways. "I just have to find a way to make myself stronger." Now, I was happy with how everything turned out, yes, I know I wasn't as strong as Cadell, but I was able to keep up with him, and land a couple of blows. There isn't a soul other than me in Dicathen that could have done that, so I think that's pretty good, well, at least for now, we know Arthur will be able to.

We sat in silence, then Lionel came running in with a large bottle, inside it was a red liquid. "Here." He handed it to the female as she stopped healing me.

"Thanks." She smiled as she turned to me. "Now, General Virion, please make sure to drink this whole thing, it will help with your injuries."

She reached her hand out with the bottle in it, and I took it from her with my good arm. "It's red." I said and turned to Elder Virion. "This is a red liquid, there is no way I am drinking this."

"Just do it." Sylvie said out loud, and I sighed.

"Fine." I tilted my head back as I began to drink the potion, it actually didn't taste like anything, it was like water.

"Good." The female medic said as I finished the potion. "Now, this potion will help with the pain inside of your body, but it will also help with the healing of the bones you broke."

My eyes began to close for some reason, like I was unable to stay awake. "Okay." I said, trying to stay conscious.

"It also puts you to sleep." She added, and I started to drift away.

"I'll be here waiting, Virion, I won't go anywhere until your parents get here." Elder Virion said, trying to comfort me, which I appreciated.

That was the last thing I heard as the potion kicked in and put me to sleep.
