Chapter 135: New Knowledge

Arthur Leywin

They just finished healing me, I wasn't hurt that bad because of Veer, he took on Cadell mostly alone, which annoyed me, I couldn't help him like I wanted to. Even with the knowledge of his powers, we couldn't stand up against him.

I rolled off the bed, and stood up, there wasn't anyone in my room. Sylvie and Elder Virion were keeping an eye on Veer, which I was fine with, he was the key to winning this war, not me now. Who knows what else he is holding back from me, that can't be everything in this novel about my life or this world.

I can't believe in this novel, Adam and the Director would already be dead, that just doesn't seem possible.

I made my way to the door, I was going to get Elder Virion, and head to the council room to chat there. I have an idea that will expose Rahdeas, the man who supposedly raised Elijah, who was really my old friend from my old life.

Why was there a novel on me anyways? It doesn't make any sense.

'Sylvie is he okay?' I sent a mental transmission to my bond who was currently in my brother's room healing. I could feel that she was worried for the both of us, but I was in a way better state than Veer.

'Yeah, he's fine, they just left the room, only Elder Virion is in here now." My bond relayed back to me, and I sent a mental nod to her.

I exited my room, and walked over to the one that Veer was in, opened the door, and sitting there next to his bed was Elder Virion. He looked worried or disappointed in something, I couldn't tell.

"Arthur, you should be resting." Elder Virion stood up and told me, Veer was out cold on the bed, it looked like they wrapped his broken bones up pretty well.

"I'll be okay, I think we should talk in the council room with everyone." I turned to Sylvie and spoke to her verbally. "Sylvie, how about we get Ellie to come down here, and you can come with me."

"No, I'm going to stay." The dragon said as she kept her eyes closed.

"Ha, seems the little thing has taken quite a liking to your little brother." Elder Virion smiled. "Young Eleanor should be down her any second, you stay until she gets here, I'll meet you in the council room, I believe Aldir is there." Oh, so the Asura didn't care to check in on us.

"Okay." I told the old elf. "Make sure it's only us three." Rahdeas couldn't be there yet, I needed them to know the plan first.

"It will be." Gramps made his way out of the room. "Make sure your sister stays in here."

"I will." I said as the door closed and I stood there at the edge of the bed, looking at my bond. "So, you want to stay here, and not come with me to the council room?" The dragon opened her eyes and stared at me.

"Yes." She answered. "I feel bad we let Veer do almost all of the fighting because we weren't powerful enough to do anything."

"I understand, but you heard what he said, we get strong enough." As I said the words, I knew I messed up.

"No, you get strong enough, Arthur, I may get stronger, but not strong enough." Veer said that she makes me into some sort of half dragon somehow, but she ends up sacrificing her life, but she doesn't die, I wasn't completely sure, but Sylvie knew what he was talking about.

"I know what he said might worry you, but Sylvie, we can change all of that now." I insisted. "He knows what happens, we can use that."

"Arthur, Veer knew what happened, he doesn't anymore." The dragon had a point. "He may not anything anymore."

"Let's hope that's not the case." Veer said that this war was all about getting Tessia, but what I didn't understand was why they were waiting? I guess they still want the continent, they need our troops to defeat the Asuras, but even so, that wouldn't be enough.

"And there after Veer, we know that for sure now, he said that they don't come for Tessia until after we lose the war, so why are they going for Veer now?" I shrugged at the dragon, not knowing what to say, this was all true, we didn't know why they were going after Veer, unless they feel that threatened by him. "I don't want to lose him, Arthur."

"I don't either, Sylv." As I spoke the door to the room opened, and standing there in the doorway was my sister. She was staring at me with teary eyes, and then all of a sudden, she came running at me.

"Art!" She exclaimed, hugging me. "What happened? They wouldn't let me come down here, they said that you two were involved in a fight!"

"We were." I said, embracing my sister's hug. "But we are fine, Veer is just a little banged up, that's all."

"He doesn't look a little banged up." Ellie said as we separated, and she looked at Veer lying in bed.

"His arm and leg were broken, but with his healing capabilities, he'll be fine." I didn't want to tell her that, but I couldn't lie to her right now. "I need you to stay with Veer while I go and speak with Elder Virion and Aldir, okay?"

"You're leaving already?" She asked me, and the door opened once again.

"Tess?" I spoke questioningly, not knowing she was here. "What are you --" Before I finished, Sylvie shot across the room and landed in the hands of Tessia.

"Hey, Sylvie." Tess spoke, and then turned to me, she hadn't been crying like Ellie, at least from what I could tell at the moment. "My Grandfather told me what happened, I came rushing down as soon as I heard, I would have been here sooner, but I didn't know." She walked up and stood a foot from me. "What did the two of you fight to end up in these states, I mean Arthur, you seem fine, but Veer..."

"He'll be fine." I said, Sylvie jumped to the ground, and Tessia and I hugged. "I'm glad you're here, Tess."

"Me too, I'll stay with Ellie, you can go." I looked at her funny as we separated. "I overheard before I opened the door."

I nodded in understanding. "Okay, thank you." I sent the two of them smiles. "I'll be back down as soon as I am done." I turned to Sylvie. "You sure you want to stay here?" I didn't get a reply as the dragon sat back down in the corner of the room on the couch and closed her eyes. "I'll take that as a no then."

"Haha." Tess and Ellie laughed, lightening the mood. "Go, we will be waiting here." Tess sent me a warm smile that made me feel so much better, but, looking at her now, knowing that Agrona wants to put Cecilia's soul into her body. I would love to see her again, but not in Tessia's body, I love, I care for her too much.

"Okay." I left the room, and started to walk towards the council room, it wasn't that far of a walk from here, so it only took me about three to four minutes, every guard I passed bowed, and showed their respect.

I was in baggy clothing, they took the clothes I fought in and moved them to my room, giving me these while they were healing me. "General Arthur." The guard in front of the council room spoke as he opened the door for me.

"Thank you." I said as I walked in, sitting in there was Eldir Virion and Aldir.

"Did Tessia make it down there before you left?" Elder Virion smiled at me, and it kind of made me smile as well.

"She did." I said, making my way to a seat across from Aldir. "Aldir, it's good to see you again."

"Likewise, Arthur." The three eyed Asura said as he stared at me. "So, the two of you fought a Scythe."

I nodded my head. "We did, but do you know what Scythe it was?" I asked, not knowing what he knew already.

"I do not."

"It was the one who killed Sylvie, his name was Cadell." This caught the Asura a little off guard, something I didn't see often.

"And you two survived?" Aldir said, catching me off guard now. "You two survived a battle with Scythe Cadell, the one who killed Lady Sylvia?"

"We did, as you can see, but it wasn't because of me." I looked at Elder Virion. "It was because of Veer, he was able to go toe to toe with him, but even with my help, the Scythe was too powerful, if Veer didn't distract him, we would both be dead."

Aldir nodded his head, taking in what I was saying. "I see, so Virion is truly growing into a fine warrior then." I thought he knew that already. "I must speak with him in private later on, if that is okay with both of you."

"Of course." Elder Virion answered for me, I never asked Veer about the Asuras, that's something I need to do. "Now, Captain Auddyr and Captain Glory, in total, during the battle, only lost slightly over one thousand men, which would have been worse if Veer and you didn't come up with the plan to beat them." He paused, and then added. "All five thousand men have been either killed or captured, it was a successful battle."

"Besides us losing." I said, still upset about it, but I knew better.

"You were lucky to have escaped with your lives." Aldir said.

"Yeah, I know." I leaned back into the chair; it was time to talk about the next plan. "We need to talk about the dwarves."

"Rahdeas is trying to handle it, I'll admit, it's a working progress." Elder Virion said, it worried me that they didn't know he was also the one who raised Olfred.

"So, you don't know." I looked at the two of them. "He raised Olfred, and if he was a traitor, the odds are, Rahdeas is as well."

"We did our research, Arthur, we wouldn't allow that to happen again." Elder Virion assured me. "He is on our side; he's out there trying his best to get as many dwarves as possible to help us win this war."

"I should inform you two then, that the Alacryan force that came for us, came from the direction of Darv." I shook my head. "Personally, I think Rahdeas is helping Alacrya, someone had to of told them that Veer and I where there, what other reason would a Scythe show up."

The two of them went silent, but Aldir spoke first. "You believe it was Rahdeas who informed them?" I nodded my head, going off of what I know, and what Veer said. "There's always one way to find out."

"That's what I was thinking."

"He was one of the few people who did know about Veer and you going there." Elder Virion mentioned. "This is my fault then, I trusted him, I truly thought it was only Olfred who turned his back to Dicathen."

"It's not your fault." I told him. "However, we need to deal with it, and I know how."

"How?" Aldir asked, sensing that I knew what I was talking about.

"Somehow, Veer." I needed to lie to make this work, something I guess I have gotten good at in this world. "Discovered that there is an Alacryan camp, underground in Ashber Town, the place I was born, I say, we use that to get Rahdeas to inform the Alacryans we are coming."

"That could be too risky." Aldir said. "We need to be careful now, if they send Cadell once again, you two might not be able to escape."

"We can send another Lance." Elder Virion was right, it didn't just have to be us two. "There's two Lances coming back from their missions, we can send one of them."

"Who?" I asked.

"Lance Aya and Lance Mica." I'm pretty sure that Lance Aya and my brother get along quite well, it may be wise to bring her. "I know Lance Aya will be up to it, but I think we hold up on sending Mica with you, we don't know if we can trust her fully."

"I agree." Aldir nodded his head. "However, I don't know if even the three of you, and Lady Sylvie can take Cadell on." He had a point, but we need to do something, hopefully, like Veer said, it won't be him, but Jagrette.

"Let's just hope it's not him there." Elder Virion responded. "I don't know much, but if you say he is strong, then he must be."

I nodded, then asked. "Alright, when will Rahdeas be back?"

"In a week, enough time for Veer and you to heal." Elder Virion was right, I was still having trouble breathing with my broken ribs, but Veer won't be able to walk for at least four days, maybe longer. "That's when we announce the plan to the council, so that Rahdeas doesn't suspect anything."
