Chapter 138: Discussion

My Beginning After the EndWords: 10658

"May I speak to the young Lance for a little?" Aldir asked them, and I scratched my chin, wondering what this could be about.

"Please, we'll leave you two alone." Fiona made her way out of the room, and my mother sent me a smile, then followed behind her.

"There is something I need to discuss with you." Aldir took a couple more steps toward me.

"What is it?" Not really caring, the last time I spoke with him, he wanted me to be a monster for the sake of the Asuras, not that it wasn't bad advice.

"It's about your fight with Cadell." Aldir said, standing four yards from me, it was now only him and me in the room. "What it means."

"What do you mean, what it means?" I had no clue where this was going, I was little confused with it.

"The fact that Arthur and you were able to stay alive fighting against him is unimaginable." Aldir didn't believe in us, wow, that would hurt me, except I don't care. "He has Vritra blood, making him a powerful foe, and you two are mere children, I know Arthur has been trained by us, Asuras, but you, you continue to impress."

"Wow." I clapped my hands slowly. "You really know how to compliment somebody." I tilted my head at him and stopped clapping. "Why are you saying all of this? So, what we survived, we didn't defeat him, is that truly that impressive?"

"I'm saying this, because it's time for you to meet someone." I went back to looking at him confused, he was referring to Kezess I'm pretty sure, but why would I want to meet him. "Lord Indrath has taken a liking to you, and after your survival with the Scythe, would like to meet you."

I waved my hand. "I'll pass." I said, knowing what a meeting with him meant.

"Lord Indrath wants to meet you, Windsom will be here after your plan to take out the camp in Ashber is finished." Aldir was speaking like I didn't have a choice, which to be honest, I really didn't. "He will be the one to escort you to Lord Indrath, that's where he wants to discuss your future."

"My future is for me to decide, not someone else." I wasn't ready to kill these gods yet, but I'll still be stubborn at least for now, they won't touch me, because they know what happens if they do. "You can repeat yourself over and over, but if I don't want to meet Lord Indrath, I'm not going to."

"Don't be so childish." Aldir told me with a strict voice. "This is a once and a lifetime moment for a Lesser, to be able to go to Epheotus and meet its ruler, is something only one other person has done, your brother."

I nodded my head, cracking a smile. "How about when the war is over, I come and visit him, because I don't see a reason for me to go? What future do I have if we lose the war?"

"That's why he wants to talk to you, Virion, he wants to help you, and your family." Aldir still is in love with Kezess, how pitiful. "He wants to meet the child who stood up against the Vritra blooded mutts, and survived, not once, but twice."

"Oh, I see, he likes me." I spoke sarcastically. "So, let me get this straight, because Lord Indrath wants to meet me, I have to go." I didn't get a response, so I spoke again. "It's a yes or no answer, Aldir, be honest with me, it won't hurt my feelings."

"Yes, you have no choice." I knew that was the case, but let's see if I can get anything out of this.

I nodded my head. "We always have a choice, Aldir, I hope you remember that." I stared at him now, no sign of emotion on my face, I was getting good at controlling my expressions. "Let me ask you this one thing then, if I don't go, what happens? I'm honestly curious, what, will Windsom and you knock me out, and drag me there? Or will you threaten a loved one?"

"That's something you don't need to know." If I was at Asura level, I would kill him, I don't care if we need him or not in the future, he pisses me off for some reason. "Virion, you are the only Blood Deviant in existence, of course, Lord Indrath would find you interesting, too bad you were born in Dicathen."

"Why does that matter?" I felt someone arrive through a portal upstairs, and excitement built up in me. "Being born a Lesser isn't an awful thing, not the greatest, but not unlucky."

"How can you say that? If you were born an Asura with your Blood Deviant powers, you might have been on Lord Indrath's strength level, but you will never reach that strength as a Lesser." Aldir didn't have to be a dick about it, but I guess he is what he is.

"Maybe you're right, but you Asuras, isn't your great strength limited? Whereas us Lessers, evolve, and keep evolving." I couldn't say anything about the artifacts limiting our Lances, but I could mention something.

"Not to our strength." Aldir might be right, but that's only because they have been limiting us.

"Fine." I said, not wanting to reveal anything, I was going to bring up some stuff, but there was no need, I'll deal with him later. "I'll go to Epheotus if it pleases the great and mighty Lord Indrath, the god among gods." I started to walk past him, but his hand stopped me.

"You need to work on your attitude." Aldir told me, and I looked up at him, and sent a smile.

"I need to work on my attitude, dude, I'm eleven years old, and I'm fighting in a war." I shrugged, then nudged his arm off of me. "Actually, Aldir, this was a nice discussion, you gave me a great idea, so thanks."

"Virion, Lord Indrath is planning an attack on Agrona." I froze in my place. "It's something you mentioned to me earlier, now, how you knew that would happen, I don't know, but that's exactly why Lord Indrath wants to meet you." I turned back to Aldir. "He wants to see just how smart you are."

"Oh, you have no idea." I knew one thing, don't make any deals with him. "Aldir, I know everything, I'm going to let you in on a little secret, my blood magic, allows me to sense other people's power, so I know what your truly capable of."

"You have no idea what I am capably of." Aldir said. "And I know you can't sense people's powers."

"Damn, you are a smart one." I said seriously. "I'm assuming you sensed what I did, and understand why I want to leave?"

"I did." Aldir's third eye was staring into my soul, but I was staring right back at him. "You are strong Virion, but you are nowhere strong enough to win this war."

"No shit."

"So, come to Epheotus so we can change that, Lord Indrath might be able to increase your strength." If he wanted to do that, he should have done it before the war officially started, not right after we almost got killed by Cadell. "All he wants to do is help you, so try to be a little grateful."

"Okay, Aldir, I get it." I turned toward the exit. "I'm going, I'll see you in the next council meeting." I made my way out of the training room, and down the hall. I might of been a little rude to Aldir, and I really had no reason to if I didn't know what I did, but if you really think about it, they are asking me, an eleven year old, to want, just come with them to another continent, without a choice, to me that sounds a lot like an abduction.

I'll deal with it later, there was zero chance I was going to Epheotus to see Lord Indrath, I wound not survive, I have zero filter when I am nervous, actually, I have zero filter all the time, there would be a high chance that I say something to him, that makes him angry with me.

"Veer, where are you going?" My mother's voice called out; she was standing against the wall in front of one of the storage rooms I believe. "Is everything alright with General Aldir?"

"Besides him being a dick, yeah."

"Veer, watch your mouth." My mother said to me, and I held up my arms in defense. "Are you hungry, I just saw your brother, he was going to get food?"

I shook my head. "No, I'm fine, I'm going to the third floor to meet someone, but I'll come find you as soon as I am done, okay?" I enjoyed spending time with my father and mother while they were here, it was pretty much the only thing I could do, besides help with planning the next parts of the war.

"Yes, of course, we will be on the balcony waiting for you."

"Alright, see you soon, mom." I made my way down the hall at a steady pace, the guards bowed to me as I passed them, I tried to give each one a nod.

I made my way to the stairs that led down to the floor I wanted to go to, and as I did, I met a familiar face. "Virion, why are you in a rush?" Queen Eralith asked me, standing four steps down from me. "Never mind, I know why." She sent me a smile. "She's in her room, they just finished debriefing."

"Thank you." I said to the Queen as I bowed to her, knowing it was the right thing to do. "I haven't seen you in a while Queen Eralith, it's good to see you."

"Likewise, Virion." The Queen was always so nice to me. "I've heard that you've been busy, Arthur and you really fought a Scythe, that must have been scary for you, at least you had your brother there."

"Na, Arthur was lucky I was there." I said jokingly to her. "But it was scary, made me rethink a couple things."

"Well, that's good, I don't want to hold you up." She moved to the side of the stairs and motioned for me to go past her. "I can basically feel the excitement building up in you, go see her."

I sent her another smile. "I'll talk to you later." I spoke nonchalantly to the Queen, making my way past her.

The Queen did say one more thing to me. "Don't run down the stairs!"

"I won't." I took my time traveling down the stairs, and to the third floor.

I entered into one of the third floor hallways, and walked down it, following the mana signature moving through the floor. I turned the corner into two guards, their eyes widened as I approached them.

"General Virion!" They said, bowing to me, it was an elf and a human, they both seemed to be around Callias's age, not that old, but not that young, maybe in their twenties.

"At ease, do I like like I'm a General right now?" I wasn't trying to be rude or anything, I just didn't really look the part at the moment.

"No sir, we were trying to be respectful towards you." The elf on the right spoke, and I raised my hand.

"My bad, I was merely joking." I assured him. "I know what you were you doing."

"Oh." The elf looked at me awkwardly.

"Well, anyways, good luck with whatever you two are doing." I made my way past them but overheard the human next to the elf speak.

"I can't believe we just met the Devil of Dicathen!"

It made me happy that they thought meeting me was so cool, I was a mere child, but a child with insane abilities. To most by now, I am the person who defeated a company of Alacryans by himself, and took down a Retainer, they all loved me, I gave them hope that we could actually win this war.

I turned the corner and froze when I saw the person I was looking for, a smile crossed my face.
