Chapter 145: First Mission

My Beginning After the EndWords: 11454

Virion Leywin

I was currently in the bathroom, getting ready, I just woke up from a long nap, which was not really needed, but it was a nice refresher. Sylvie went over to Arthur's room to make sure he was awake, and that he was getting ready.

I was already pretty much ready, I had my black cloak on, with the armor underneath, my brown hair was messy, but it didn't matter, I was going to be in the field, and we were supposed to be undercover.

I'm feeling excited to see who shows up, if it's Cadell again, I'm gonna be slightly disappointed, yet again, it would be nice to fight him once again. Knowing that I could stand up against him, made me feel so much better. If there is only one Retainer there, they are going to die, like there are three Lances and a dragon coming for them.

Now, if it was me, I would send more than one Retainer, all you know is that I, Virion Leywin took down Uto. Arthur and I managed to escape Cadell, and now all of us are going to be heading there.

One Retainer isn't going to do the job, which I think is a miscalculation by me, we kind of told them that we are quite strong over here, even if we haven't fought their army, we stood up against their strongest fighters.

I stepped out of the bathroom as I finished wetting my hair, and into my room, I was ready to go, so I made my way out into the hallway, waiting there for me was my sister, Ellie.

"El?" I said, and she instantly hugged me. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." She said as I embraced her hug. "It's just that mom and dad left today, and now Arthur and you are, it's frustrating." She released me, and then stood a foot from me.

"I know, Ellie, you're getting stronger." I sent her a smile, and then activated my mana ring. "Here, these are for you." I handed her two beast cores, they weren't strong ones, but they will help her get stronger.

"Thanks!" She exclaimed, now not sad for some reason, almost like she wanted me to do this. "I won't be able to absorb them though that fast."

I shook my head. "Wrong." I took a step closer to her. "I have a clone inside of the castle that I made yesterday, it has my Blood Deviant powers, it will help you." I told her with a smile, I knew she was going to want to get stronger, so I made a silver core clone with my blood powers yesterday for her.

"Are you serious!" She exclaimed even louder, but I covered her mouth with my hand.

"Ellie, people in here can't know I have clones running around, so keep it down." I knew they would be mad at me if they knew about this.

"Wait, clones, in plural?" I nodded my head at my sister, I had multiple clones in this castle, she was here, I wasn't going to let anything happen to my twin sister, also there were a lot of important people here, like Elder Virion and the Queens and Kings at times. "Well, thanks I guess."

"It'll come around in the middle of the day, every day, so keep these safe." I told her with a smile, and then added. "I need to get going, you coming to show us out, or no?"

"I'll stay, but I have to say bye to Arthur first." She said, and that's when Arthur's door opened. "Arthur!" Ellie exclaimed, getting his attention, Sylvie was prancing on the ground below him. Arthur was wearing a black cloak, it had a hood on it, but I couldn't see his armor underneath, I'm sure he had some, at least like I do. He was wearing long black pants, but they were more of an easy to move in fabric, and I could see his leg armor, he basically had none like me.

"Hey." Arthur said as we walked up to him, and Ellie hugged him. "We'll be back soon, El."

"I know." Ellie continued to hug him, I stood there and watched. "You both better come back in one piece though."

"We will." I answered as they stopped hugging, and she backed away from him, standing next to me now. "Arthur, Aya, and all of them are waiting for us." I could sense all of them across the castle.

"Okay." Arthur nodded his head, knowing we had to go. "El, we'll be back soon enough, don't worry." We both sent her a smile, trying to make her feel better.

"Good luck." She said, and Sylvie, Arthur, and I began to walk away from her, she stood there and watched.

"Thanks." I shot over my shoulder, knowing there was a chance we needed it, depending on the situation we were put into. "You ready?" I hit Arthur in the shoulder, pumped up to get going.

"Of course." He answered, and that's when Sylvie jumped onto my head.

"Hey, Sylvie." I scratched her head, and then turned to Arthur. "There's something I need to talk to you about while we are flying to Ashber." There was no better time than during that, he needed to know about Aldir wanting me to go to see Lord Indrath.

"About what?" He asked me, and I shook my head, not wanting to bring it up here.

We turned the corner down another hallway, and the four guards that were walking towards us got out of the way and bowed to us. "It has to wait until we are alone." I admitted, as I stopped scratching Sylvie's head, and stretched my arms out. "I can't wait to fight again; I've been so anxious after Cadell threw us around."

"Calm yourself, you shouldn't be looking for a fight, Veer." I knew I shouldn't have said something like that to Arthur, he can be such a drag sometimes. "And he didn't throw you around as much as he did to me, I was useless."

"Well, I was the one who broke a lot more bones, but you weren't useless, you gave me some openings to work with, maybe not a lot." We turned down the last hallway that led to the room where everyone was.

"Let's hope I can help out more next time, you said I killed Jagrette, so I'm asking you, if she is there, and there's a force underground, let me take her, Aya and you will go take care of the other Alacryans." Arthur wanted to fight her by himself, it makes sense, but was it the smart play.

I sighed. "Fine." The guards guarding the door that led into the hanger that opened up to the outside bowed to us as we got closer to them. "I wanted to kill a Retainer though." I said softly under my breath, knowing I still could.

"Veer." Sylvie said from on top of my head. "Control the Will."

"I am, I am." This wasn't the Will talking, I genially wanted to fight so badly, oh wait, I guess that is the Will talking, shit.

"Remember, concentrate on the task, not on killing, that comes second." Arthur told me that two nights ago, and I told him that killing is the first task, we are going to kill a Retainer or Scythe, that was our true goal.

The guards opened the doors for us, and we stepped into the hanger, everyone in it turned to us, standing there was Aya, Elder Virion, Aldir, Queen Eralith, King Eralith, and Windsom. "Here they are." Elder Virion said as we approached.

"Sorry we are late." Arthur spoke for the both of us. "We all set?"

"We are." Elder Virion smiled as we stood in front of the group.

I yawned as Sylvie jumped onto Arthur's head. "Virion, are you tired?" Queen Eralith asked me, and everyone looked at me.

I shook my head. "Na, I'm just ready to go." I had a smile on my face, ready to fight anyone.

"I heard of your battle with the Scythe." Windsom spoke up, I haven't seen him in a while, but I was able to sense him from my room. He must be here to say goodbye to me, how precious, they don't want to lose their devil. "It is pretty remarkable."

"Well thanks, Windsom." I said, taking a couple steps closer to the opening that led into the sky. Aya was standing tall, she was in her serious mode, she didn't have on her white outfit, but instead was wearing a tight black top, with tight leggings on, with black armor around her body. Actually, Aya had more armor on than Arthur and I combined probably, maybe a little less, but that's kind of crazy.

"Arthur, Aya, and Virion, you know the plan, we all believe in you." Elder Virion said, I now had my back to everyone, staring off into the sky. "Bring back a victory for Dicathen."

"If a Retainer or Scythe does show up, you know what has to be done." Aldir spoke, I didn't know to who though, if that was meant for me, or for Arthur. I leaned over the railing, looking at the ground below, which was a pretty far drop. "Virion, can't be capture."

"I won't let that happen." Arthur spoke up with a serious tone to his voice. "Where's Rahdeas?"

I stepped up on the railing. "He's in his ----"

I interrupted Aldir before he could finish. "I'll see you all later." They all faced me, and I smiled as I took a step off the railing and began to fall through the sky. "Ahhh!" I screamed in joy as I free fell, then stopped as I started flying in the direction of Ashber. The only reason I knew where it was compared to here was because Arthur told me yesterday, and I figured I would follow him when he caught up.

I sensed mana building up inside of the castle, and that's when Arthur came flying out on Sylvie's back, and Aya flew behind them, I slowed down, letting them catch up to me. It felt so cool to be able to fly whenever I wanted, something I never thought I would ever be able to do.

"Veer." Aya said, flying up next to me. "You ready to take down some Alacryans." She was smiling at me.

Arthur flew up and shook his head. "Lance Aya, you are not helping our situation." He said nicely. "We don't want him to be excited to do something like that."

"I'm only joking." Aya giggled as we flew slowly.

"Veer, you said you wanted to talk to me about something in private, Aya, would you mind flying ahead, so I can speak to him alone?" Arthur asked her, but I stopped her, she had no reason to go for this. I wasn't going to reveal anything about the Asuras, all I was going to tell him was that they want me to speak to Lord Indrath.

"It's fine." I said. "It's not that serious." I gave him a nod, and he looked at me as we flew, well, as we flew, and he sat on Sylvie. "Arthur, Aldir came to me, and basically demanded that when we got back from the mission, I had to go and see Lord Indrath in Epheotus."

Arthur and Aya's eyes widened in shock, which was completely what I was expecting. "What?!" Arthur spoke first. "You are not going to Epheotus by yourself with them, I don't know what these gods are thinking."

"I agree with your brother." Aya said. "You are too young to just go to another continent, even if you are fighting in a war."

"Oh, oh, I'm not saying I want to or anything, I am saying, he told me I had no choice, I was going to Epheotus no matter what when I came back." I knew what I was going to do even if Arthur didn't talk them out of it, of course, what I plan to do might piss off Kezess.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure everything is taken care of." Arthur assured me, which actually made me feel better about the situation. "Let's just stay focused on this mission, and deal with that when we get back."

"Wow, you are wise for you age." Aya sent a smile towards my brother. "And handsome."

"Aya, please don't hit on my brother." I spoke up, knowing she was slightly like this in the novel, but she never acted like that with me, probably because I was like a younger brother to her.

"I wasn't." She said serious, causing me to smirk as I looked forward. "Calling someone handsome isn't hitting on someone, Veer." The Lance was now not in her serious state, she was calm and talkative.

I tilted my head as the wind hit my face. "I don't know about that."

"You're eleven, you don't know anything about it."

"Focus." Arthur said, interrupting our little dispute. "We should pick up the pace, come on." Sylvie and he flew on ahead, and Aya and I followed quickly behind them.
