Chapter 158: Ashber Pt. V

My Beginning After the EndWords: 12004

As my body started to change, scales growing all over me, runes appearing on me, my hair changing color, and my power increasing, I started to heal each of them at the same time from here, closing all their wounds, healing as much as I could.

I then activated "Scarlett Eyes" and my eyes became blood shot, allowing me to see and feel movements easier.

I started to build up wind mana again around my body and increased the flow of the blood inside of me, so that I could go even faster than before.

Before I do anything, let's replenish a little mana.

I activated my ring from Wren, absorbed mana at a high rate, then canceled it out as more mana built back up inside of me.

"Okay, who should I help first?" I grinned, excited to fight a Retainer again.

I made the blood flow in me even faster, increasing my speed to its limits, then I vanished.

"Aya." I spoke to Aya, landing next to her. "Lyra, I presume." I faced the red headed, actually okay looking Retainer.

She titled her head at me. "How do you know who I am?" She then shook her head. "It does not matter, thank you for coming to me, this will make capturing you much easier."

"If Agrona wants to capture me, he is going to have to do a little better than this." I vanished before her, swinging the blood sword I had manifested at her body.

The Retainer's eyes widened at my enhanced speed, barely dodging my attack as mana started to be manipulated inside of her, but I disrupted her core, and the spell she wanted to use, didn't come out.

I kept on my attack, shooting my blood sword at the open handed Retainer who obviously wasn't an up close fighter. She was just managing to avoid my attacks, like just managing, a split second sooner, and it would be the end for her.

I stopped my attack as the Retainer backed away from me. "Aya, are you feeling better?" The Lance was jumping on her feet, I had healed her wounds, making it so she could fight on.

"Yeah, I'm good to go still." She responded. "Is Arthur and his bond doing, okay?"

I nodded my head, staring directly into the eyes of the Retainer before me. "Arthur seems to be winning, and Sylvie is holding her own, but does need help." I conjured an ice spear, and shot it at the Retainer, wanting to see this vibration spell that could disrupt the mana in my attack.

I felt it form, and then she shot it at the spear, and it disappeared. "Distance spells don't work on her." Aya said, but I waved her off, knowing that they would.

"You really can disrupt the flow of mana." Lyra looked at me curiously. "So, what my mentor told me was true."

"Oh shit!" I was taken aback, I honestly didn't know that, or just forgot. "You are Cadell's Retainer, that's, that's weird, you're so weak." I was confused a little about that. "Well, after today, Cadell is going to need a new one."

"I also heard you are a little crazy, thinking you can survive three Retainers, tch, you are a child, a mere child." Lyra started to build up mana, but I disrupted her core. "A mere child with the powers that could rival the gods."

"Not yet." I shot at her, swinging my blade, disrupting her core in the process. She managed to dodge my first swing, but I extended the tip of the blood sword like a snake, toward her ankle as my blade came down.

Seeing it, she quickly spun away, and I shot at her, swinging, and swinging, and swinging. Lyra was fast, I see why Aya could not keep up with her, but I was faster. I pushed my blood movement inside of me to its limit, activating "Blood Acceleration" to its fullest potential.

My blade connected with her chest, leaving a gash, and she sent a kick into my stomach, knowing me backwards, but I won the trade. A kick is meaningless when you can heal instantly.

"I'm ready." Aya shot to me, standing by my side. "We can take her down together, then help the others."

"No, go help Sylvie, I can sense she is having some trouble." I told the Lance, knowing I could handle Lyra, maybe take a couple of hits, I can't control her core permanently, but if I use it correctly, it could be fatal for her.

"You sure?" Aya asked, and I started to conjure fire, water, wind, ice, and sent a little left over blood above my head. "I'll take that as a yes." Aya shot off into the distance towards Sylvie, I hope she is doing okay.

Lyra looked up at the spell I had created, a storm of all the elements I possessed, well most of them, I was an Illusion Deviant as well. "You are truly magnificent." She shot herself away from me, heading in the direction of where Aya went, and my spells rained down on her, causing mass chaos inside of the forest.

Trees being lit on fire, water running over the land, wind cutting down the trees, my ice freezing everything it touch, my blood ripping through anything it came into contact with, but none of the attacks landed as the Retainer bobbed and weaved through the forest away from me.

I shot after her through the chaos I caused, I jumped over a tree, felt sound coming at me, rolled under the wave, and appeared before Lyra standing there, staring at me. "I didn't know Retainers ran away from their opponents." I said with a childish grin. "But when faced with death, I guess someone's facade drops, and their real self shows."

"The only one faced with death, is your friends and you." She spoke, and I laughed a little. I could feel Aya and Sylvie, they were with whoever the Retainer was over there, I had no clue who that guy was though. "You do intrigue me, a kid so powerful he could defeat Retainer Uto, stand up against Scythe Cadell, I was warned to be cautious, that is all I am doing." She shook her head. "I am not scared of a child, I ran away, because, well, you'll find out sooner or later."

I felt the mana start to build up in her, and I disrupted her core, shooting myself at her at the same time, swinging my sword at the Retainer's neck, trying to end this with one strike, I already gashed her a little.

She back stepped, I extended the tip of the sword to her throat, but she sensed this, and rolled away. I felt the mana building up in her again, this time, however, I didn't use my blood magic to disrupt her core. I couldn't, I didn't want to run out of mana, I already used a quarter, who knows how much more will be needed.

Her spells rained down on me, but I managed to dodge each open, using my speed to stay ahead of them. Lyra kept on backing up towards where Aya and Sylvie were fighting, but why, why would she want to go over there? Was it so she could fight me with another Retainer?

I sidestepped a sound wave, appearing next to the Retainer as she was moving backwards, and I was moving forward, swinging my sword at her neck, trying to take her head off with a powerful swing.

I disrupted her core, causing her to falter just a little as she attempted to dodge my swing and use a spell to deflect me, and my sword scratched her throat, causing blood to run down her chest, leaving an open wound on her.

She held her neck as the blood ran down it, and continued to dodge my attacks as I came at her, knowing I needed to end the fight as soon as I could. I felt a sound wave hit me, causing my body to stumble slightly, but not enough to stop me in the slightest.

Lyra removed her hand, and the wound was healed, no more blood was rushing down her, but the blood that did, traveled to my arms, and wrapped itself around it. I then released small bullets of blood as I set swing after swing at her.

A blood bullet ripped through her shoulder as my sword missed her face, a sound wave came for me, but I shot to the side, and then shot myself back at her in one motion. Her fist came at me, but I froze it in the air using my blood magic, then swung to take her arm off.

As my blade was coming down, I was hit with an attack from my side, which I didn't sense coming, or I was just too focused on what was ahead of me. I went rolling towards a tree as the sound wave spell rocked me, making my ears hurt even with my blood magic and mana enforcements active.

I held my right ear, it was ringing, blood ran down it, not a lot, but damn did Lyra get me good there. I stood and faced the Retainer, she was breathing heavily trying to keep up with me, her wounds much worse than my little ear bleed.

We were about one hundred yards from the other battle now, which was still going on. I had no clue who they were fighting, I was kind of curious, wanting to go over there. "I guess my sound magic still hurts the so called Devil."

"Well, sounds effects everything. so?" I shrugged, wiping the blood on my hands on my cloak. Mana started to build up inside of her, but I stopped it, disrupting her core so she couldn't use a spell. "No more." I said, releasing more of my pressure on to her, but she didn't seem affected by it anyways.

I raised my left hand, and conjured the rain spell I used against Cadell, letting rain start to come down on us around the battlefield. "What is this? Rain?" Lyra said, looking up. "You can influence the environment this much?"

"Yes." I said with a grin, conjuring another blood sword in my left hand, knowing I would need more blood magic to succeed. "Lyra, you were supposed to live much longer, but I'm sad to say, your days are over."

"I doubt that child, you have no clue what you are up against." Lyra got into a fighting stance. "You think you can keep up with us, but we are not even trying with you." I think she just sounds like a sore loser. "We can't kill you; I know that Cadell killed the clone spell you used on him, but orders have changed, now we must do everything to retrieve you alive."

"Honestly, I would love to chat with Agrona, really, I would, just not in Alacrya, knowing once I was there, it will be extremely difficult to leave." I spun both my blades in my hands, feeling Arthur's battle ending.

"Then come with me, he would love to meet you." She spoke with confidence but knew I would never. "But I know you won't come with me unless I force you, or should I say, we force you."

Alright, well, they have something up their sleeve, but what was it? I didn't sense any other blood or mana signatures here in Ashber, no one else stepped through the portal underground, so what was this trick.

"At least you know." I told her, conjuring blue fire above my head, adding blood into the spell as well. I didn't have a lot of blood left over, but I did carry some up with me after I slaughtered the soldiers underground. "I assume you are leasing me towards the other Retainer, so let us see if you can survive before you reach over there, if I had to guess, you won't."

"There it is again, the confidence of a child, something that only disappears after failure." Lyra said with such a delinquent tone. "I will have to reintroduce you to what failure looks like, because any Lesser is a failure, even if you have blood magic, in the end, you will always be a useless fool."

"Wow, that hurt." I spoke sarcastically, and shot myself at the Retainer, holding two blood swords, one in each hand, ready to strike her down. I had no clue what their strategy was, but I was trying to figure it out.

Mana started to form all around her, like a shield of energy, or of sound, but it did not matter, her core was under my control, I decided what she could do, not her. I disrupted it and continued after her.

I swung at her head, she dodged back, I swung at her legs, she stepped back, I released the storm above me that was building up, it was filled with water, fire, and blood magic, and sent it after here.

I stood still, knowing if I got caught up in this spell, it would do damage to me as well, and as the spell was traveling, the Retainer's eyes widened. The spell began to hit the ground leading up to here, and it exploded, creating craters that burned and spit up water as well, something that didn't seem possible.

As it got closer to her, she darted off into the distance as the spell followed her, causing mass chaos as it did, breaking down everything it hit. I quickly followed behind it, dodging and weaving through the damage I caused.
