Chapter 161: Ashber Pt. VII

My Beginning After the EndWords: 11331

Virion Leywin

Without even saying a word, I shot myself at Lyra, knowing she was the weakest at this moment, I swung my elven blade, pushing wind mana behind it to make it go faster, and as she went to dodge it, I pulled her toward me, using blood magic.

My blade gashed her once again, leaving another wound on her chest plate, and blood ran down her armor. "Erie!" Lyra shouted, and I spun around before I could finish her off, and the Retainer named Erie was holding two swords coming at me.

So, this was their plan, to get Erie here to take me down, while the others take us out. I deflected his sword with my own, then dodged his other, spun and sent a kick into his ribs, knocking him backwards.

A sound wave began to form in Lyra's core, but I disrupted it before it could take form. Aya shot herself at the Retainer, trying to her attention off of me. Sylvie joined her, flying up into the air to support Aya.

We were all fighting in the forest next to each other, I parried a blow, sent ice toward Erie, but his blades consumed my attack, and I watched them grow. He wasn't stronger than Cadell, it was just that his powers countered mine slightly. My ability to disrupt cores gave me a huge advantage in one on one battles, but I could not do that with him.

His two swords were now heading towards my head; I fell to the ground as they went over my head and sent my sword into his quad. The Retainer was unable to dodge my attack, and I drove it deep into him, pushing the tip of the blade out of the back of his quad.

"Ahh!" He screamed as he brought his sword down on me, I ripped my blade out, and rolled out of the way, not allowing myself to get hit. "Come here!" I quickly rose to my feet, and his swords began to pull me in.

He swung his right sword at my head, and the left at my ribs, I dodged one after another, felt mana building up in Lyra, and had no intention of letting her strike Aya down with a magic spell. I got low to the ground, knowing that this Erie guy had the height advantage, and shot at his lower half.

His blade came down on me, I stepped to the side, and swung at his wounded leg. He barely was able to lift his leg out of the way of my attack, then swung both blades down, pulling me into them. "I thought you were not supposed to kill me?" I said questioningly, using my blood magic to stop his arms in the air, and then swept his legs out from under him, causing him to fall to the ground.

"It was only going to hurt you, not kill you." Erie said shooting to his feet, and I thought, a swing by a sword toward my head would most definitely kill me.

I deflected a blow, dodged another, and then saw an opening, I shot myself into the Retainer, using wind mana and blood acceleration, and my blade entered his shoulder area, cutting through his armor and flesh like it was nothing.

"Well, I think Agrona expected too much from you." I said, twisting the blade I had in him.

"Tch." The Retained scoffed, like he didn't care about the sword, and sent an elbow toward my face. I released my sword, grabbed his arm, the mana sword tried to pull me, but I was grabbing his armor, it would not be able to absorb this.

I activated "Absolute Zero" and ice began to spread all over his arm, then he kicked me, and as he did, I grabbed the blade in his shoulder, and it slipped out and came with me. I landed on my feet, spun in a circle as my momentum carried me away, and faced the Retainer.

His wounds had healed but a decent amount of blood already ran down his armor, and it didn't stop the wounds from hurting like my magic does. I spun my elven blade in my hand, getting ready to strike him again, aiming for a more vital spot if I could this time.

Erie's blades were not as big anymore, like the mana he had in them disappeared, but that did not stop him from attacking. If I was right, if he was a Wraith, he is not accustomed to fighting by himself, that may be why I am fucking him up.

His sword came down on me, I back stepped, swung my own blade at his neck, and he dodged it. I spun around, dodging his next attack, dug into Retainer Lyra's core, not allowing her to use mana when she wants against Aya and Sylvie.

I was also healing Aya's wounds, I twisted my body, barely getting out of the way of Erie's attack, and sent blood at him to see what would happen. It came off my arm and went straight towards his swords and then they absorbed the blood. How annoying.

I deflected his attack, and then another, then another, as he drove me back, and that is when I felt Arthur shoot himself into the equation, driving the Retainer back, forcing him to stop any attack.

Arthur stood next to me as the Retainer faced us. "The boy wonder, Arthur Leywin." Erie said. "Look at this team up, the Leywin children."

Lyra shot over to Erie and stood there. "It is time." Lyra spoke, and the two nodded.

Aya was now on brink of having no more mana, she could not keep it up any longer. Sylvie was fine, and Arthur was getting close to where Aya was. I had slightly under half of my mana left, if we were to kill these two, and take their horns, imagine the strength we would receive.

"What's going on here?" Arthur asked me, facing them still.

"She has sound magic, and he has sword manipulation, I don't know the term, but he can absorb mana with his blades, and he is not controlling them using his core." I told him, trying to catch him up with his powers. "But he isn't really a good swordsman, which is surprising since he probably trained since birth."

"Oh, you little brat, calling me a bad swordsmen cause you landed a couple of blows, haa." I looked at Erie confused, that is exactly why he is a bad swordsman, he could not touch me, but I was able to give him a couple of wounds. "It doesn't matter now, Lesser, you will be coming with us."

"I killed one of you already, I'll kill another." Arthur told them, getting into a defensive stance. I knew he could kill Jagrette, it is just a shame I was unable to fight against her with him.

"It is funny that you think that, but no, you can't kill another, whereas your mana is running low, we are capable of fighting for much longer." Erie said, stretching the arm I placed a blade into. "However, it is a shame you defeated Jagrette, but she was weak, weaker than any of us, so it makes sense."

Aya stepped up next to Arthur and me. "She is in a bad state, devil, come with us, and we won't kill her." Lyra spoke with a kind tone, but yet a scary one.

"Don't listen to her, Veer, I am fine." Arthur and I just shook our heads at Aya, knowing she still was not fine, and actually was a lot worse than before. "I am, trust me." I didn't have a plan, we either fought and won, or fought and died, that was it, there was no retreating this time for me.

"Lance Aya, I think it is time for you to go, Veer and I will handle it." Arthur spoke, but I knew Erie and Lyra would not allow it, they wanted them here for some reason, like they were planning something.

"They won't let them leave." I told my brother. "If anything, we need to attack them, and then Sylvie can get Aya out of her." I got ready to strike again, knowing Lyra was close to death, I cut her multiple times on the chest, and once on the neck.

"Arthur Leywin." Lyra spoke, and we faced her. "You love your brother, right? I know that of Lessers, you care very much for your family, however, we both know you can't prevent us from taking him today." She was grinning. "You tricked Cadell, but you all are low on mana, even you devil, you may not think it, but you are. The time has come for you to all face reality, so, I offer you a choice, come with us, Virion Leywin, or we kill the Lance."

"Don't listen to her, they have been trying to do that all day, and look at me." Aya put a hand on my shoulder, and for some reason I felt the urge to do as they say, but that would mean death, and I was not ready for that.

"Haha." I laughed, opening myself up to the serpent, needing more of its power. "No offense, but I have no intentions of giving up." I had no idea what they had planned, it could not be just simply attacking us, right? I mean, I guess everyone else is about to run out of mana, but I have been dancing all over them. "Hmm." I looked around, still not sensing anyone else, there has to be something I am missing, why would they threaten us like that, or are they that confident in their skills still.

"I would never allow that." Arthur told Lyra. "You are right, I love my brother, so why would I allow him to go with you?"

"I suppose you wouldn't." Lyra spoke. "Lessers are simple minded."

"It isn't being simple minded, I just care for my brother, and would not want him to be tortured to death." Arthur was defending me, but that's when Erie spoke, and it surprised me.

"Who said anything about torturing?" Everyone froze on our side, not knowing what that meant. "You think just because we want him alive, we just will torture him, no, no, no, we would not torture such a powerful asset."

"Huh, my vocabulary isn't spot on, but isn't an asset something on your side?" I asked, clarifying what I heard.

"I said too much." Erie laughed. "Hahah, Lyra, you ready?"

"Yes, everything is set in place." I started looking around, Arthur and Aya were still facing them, Sylvie was flying in the air, she would let us know if someone was coming, so what was their plan.

"Then, if you are not taking our offer, it looks like we will do it the fun way." Erie smiled, and then added. "Go ahead." Lyra started to build up mana, and I disrupted her core, not allowing that shit to happen, but Erie shot at me, Arthur stepped in, but was pushed to the side by Erie's tremendous force.

"Don't let her activate whatever shit she has planned!" I told Arthur, Aya, and Sylvie. "I'll handle him." I swung my blade at his head, disrupted Lyra's core once again, and Arthur and Aya were now on her.

"What a fool?!" Erie pulled something out of his pocket as he rolled away from my attack, it was a cube of some sort, maybe an artifact, and it confused me. Why would he have an artifact with him?

Unless...

He threw the artifact at my feet, and I quickly enhanced my speed even more, pushing my blood at a speed that almost feels impossible, and shot away from the artifact as it activated, form a cage with no one it. I remember something like that being used in the novel on Arthur, but he had aether, I didn't, that for sure would have trapped me.

"Fool?" I said. "You wanted to separate us again and use that artifact on me." I clapped my hands. "What a plan? Truly, too bad I know what that is."

"That's imp---" He was cut off as I launched myself at him, the three of them should be able to stand up against a weakened Lyra, I have one responsibility, to kill this Retainer, even though he probably was a young Wraith, looking at the size of his horns.

I swung at his head, he ducked, swung his blade with all his might. I swatted it away with my own blade, then went to grab his throat, but he went to cut off my arm with his other blade, forcing me to stop. I didn't want to lose an arm, that would have been bad.

After dodging his second sword, I dropped to the ground, shot myself with wind mana before his swords could absorb it, and launched myself into his lower half, picking him off the ground, and tackling him into a tree with my enhanced strength using blood magic.
