Chapter 163: Seris

My Beginning After the EndWords: 12414

"Good idea." I shot a small amount of fire towards the ice, melting it, and then activated "Blood Oath." I couldn't hold it for long, I was low on mana, so I disrupted her core as her body fell out of the block of ice.

I conjured an ice sword, and stuck it through her core, shattering it. "Sylvie, can you fly us all back halway? Or do you need to rest a little?" She did fight a Retainer by herself, so she might need some time, I knew I did, but I wasn't in a bad state like after my time with Cadell.

"I can make it maybe a quarter of the way." She spoke as I withdrew the ice sword from Jagrette's core, and then cut her horns off of her head, and placed them along with Erie's in my mana ring.

"Okay, we can make the rest of the journey tomorrow." Arthur told her, then he took Jagrette's body and carried it up to Sylvie's back and placed it alongside the others. "Come on, Veer, let's get out of her, we won."

I went to step up on to Sylvie but froze as a presence appeared close by. "No way." I smiled, feeling this powerful person, it had to be a Scythe.

"What is it?" Arthur said, not sensing what I did, but Sylvie did. She stood up right, in a battle position. "Sylv?" I stared in the direction she was coming from; I never felt this blood before, but I knew it was Seris, it had to be.

Appearing before us, with her pearl colored hair, her skinny physique, eyes that matched her obsidian black horns, and looking at her, I would say she was no older than Tessia. What the hell? I thought she was older.

She flew to the ground, staring at Arthur and me. "It is good to finally meet the Leywin brothers." She spoke with such a calming voice, but yet authoritative.

I bowed my head to her, seriously, I respected what she did in the novel, so I'll respect her here. "Scythe Seris Vritra, the Scythe of the Sehz-Clar Dominion, it is a true honor to be in your presence." I stood up, smiling at the Scythe.

She tilted her head at me, and I saw a slight smile form, but disappear in an instant. "I heard a lot about you, Virion Leywin, I guess what they say is true."

"This is Scythe Seris?" Arthur asked, sliding down off of Sylvie, standing next to me.

"Yes, or Lady Nezera, as some people call her." I released "Blood Oath" and smiled as I looked at the Scythe. "Why has the Scythe of Sehz-Clar Dominion honor us with her presence?" I asked her somewhat sarcastically as she stepped closer, her legs were so long, I am tired of everyone being fucking taller than me, it makes me angry sometimes, but I am eleven, it makes sense.

I stepped toward her, but Arthur held his arm up against mine. "Veer, stay back." Arthur told me, and I looked at him confused. "We don't know her intentions."

"I have no intentions of hurting you, child." Seris told Arthur, and I moved his hand away from me. "I only came to make sure nothing happened to the two of you, I watched the battles, I must say, you are special."

"Oh my god, thanks Scythe Seris, your words are so kind." I lowered my head again, and then added. "Yet, we are not powerful enough to defeat someone like you, even if we know what you are capable of."

"Thank you." Arthur said too, he knew of her deeds in the novel, so he knows to trust her. "Those words coming from a Scythe are unexpected."

"I have some advice for the two of you, get stronger, and do it quickly." I wanted to say no shit, I mean, come on Seris, we know that. "Those horns will help you; it should push you into white core, and possibly get you..." She pointed at me. "...further into white, maybe close to integration phase, I don't know how a mere human child, can advance so fast like both you did."

"Why are you helping us?" Arthur asked her as she stood ten yards away from us now.

"I have my reasons." Seris spoke sincerely.

"Scythe Seris, I have a question." I raised my hand out of instinct, looking at her, no words were said after I spoke, they just looked at me. "Was the Erie guy up there a Wraith?"

The Scythe didn't show that she was puzzled, but I think she was. "Yes." Seris answered simply. "A young one, pulled from his assignment because of his runes."

"A regalia, correct?" She nodded her head slowly, examining me. "Hmm, well, obviously he is going to have to pick a little better."

"I'm afraid that may not be the case anymore." Well, she could be right, the only Retainer Arthur sees after this point is Cylrit, and then Cadell and Nico shortly after. The horde and the army, that is what is next, which also means, the wall incident. "I would use the time you have now to strengthen yourselves."

"I appreciate the advice." Arthur told her sympathetically. "Scythe Seris, why didn't you help us kill the Retainers if you are on our side?"

"It result in her blowing her cover." I spoke up for the Scythe.

"And I wanted to see what you two were capable of, but yes, I don't need Agrona looking in to me." Scythe Seris looked at the two of us. "You two are more than I expected, like I said."

"I see." Arthur responded.

"I should be taking my leave, and you should be heading back, celebrate your victory, then get back to work." Seris nodded at us, this was awesome, talking to her like this, I didn't want it to stop. Her aura radiated strength, but yet kindness, it was so strange.

"Wait, Seris." I said as Arthur began to get back up on to Sylvie, I stepped closer to the Scythe as she continued to examine me with her black, yet gorgeous eyes. "Can you do me a favor?" I asked her.

The Scythe looked at me curiously, but responded like she was talking to a young child, which guess I was. "It depends, what can I do for you child?"

"Haha." I laughed slightly, thinking about how she is being so nice to me. "First, why don't you just poison Agrona, I mean you are helping us right now, which means you aren't sided with him, why not try to kill him?"

"Because it's not easy to kill a Being like him." She responded, and I looked up at Arthur and Sylvie staring down at me. "Now, what is your favor?"

I wanted her to bring a clone back to Alacrya for me, and I kinda wanted her to mentor me, but those things will have to wait. "Scythe Seris, I have a corrupted beast core, it is making me slowly go insane, I have under control, but they believe it is just for now." I paused and sent her a smile. "If you could help with a cure, which I know Agrona has, please do, and I will be forever in your favor, you can call on me whenever you need to."

She just stared at me, thinking about what I said, then spoke. "I'll see what I can do." She sent me a warm smile, a smile from a Scythe, how strange, it had to be because I was so young. "I don't know if I'll need you in the future, but I'll keep that in mind, young one."

I bowed my head again, showing my thanks. "I appreciate that, hopefully, my brother and I can live up to your expectations."

"I hope as well." Scythe Seris nodded her head and turned around. "Good luck, you are going to need it." She vanished, and I turned back to Arthur and Sylvie.

"That was not what I was expecting." I said cheerfully, even after our long battle, I still had childish energy for some reason. "Let's get going." I jumped onto Sylvie, in between the Retainers and Aya, making sure no one fell off.

"So, that was Scythe Seris, I thought she was going to be some ruthless being, not, not like that." Arthur said, and Sylvie began to flap her wings, and take off. "It was smart to ask her for a cure."

"Yeah, except I don't think we will see her again for a while, but who knows." I shrugged while we flew in the air. "However, what she said, the horns will make us tremendously stronger. One for Sylvie, one for you, and one for me."

"What about the last one? What are you thinking about?" Arthur asked, facing forward, but speaking over his shoulder to me. "Should we split it?"

"Umm, I was thinking about giving it to Ellie." I spoke and he responded right away.

"Nope." It caused me to smile, because I knew he was going to say no, but sooner or later, I was going to run out of beast cores to give her. "That is not happening, there is a lot of dark energy in them."

"Come on, Arthur, it will help her." I paused and continued. "Imaging if we were not there when she was fighting someone, if she takes the horn, she can grow, become powerful." I wanted my sister to be strong, I wouldn't let anything happen to her, but she had been hoping to be as strong as Arthur and me her whole life. Now, the horn won't do that for her, but it will get her hell of a lot closer.

"No, we both know what kind of mana is inside of them." He had a point, it is dark energy, but our sister is so kindhearted. "I say we split it, or you let me have it."

"Well, I think it would benefit everyone, if we gave it to someone else, that way we could possibly add another asset into Dicathen's corner." I didn't know who exactly yet, but I think I had a valued reasoning.

"Maybe you are right, actually, that is pretty smart." Arthur agreed, wow, but who could give us an upper hand with the horn. "We have nothing else to do for a while, so let's think, who?"

"Tessia? It would get her to white core." However, that would just put her in more harm's way.

"No, we don't want her to have more reasons to fight, even if it would help Dicathen." I nodded behind Arthur, if she was white core, she would never leave the field, and would most likely get herself captured faster. "Even if it gets them to silver core it will help."

"What about someone like Helen, Adam, Jasmine, or even dad?" My clone was still with them, and everyone was safe, nothing bad had happened so far. "Jasmine might be wise, I don't know what her core is at, but I can send a transmission to a clone in the castle, to have Elder Virion request she comes and meets with him."

"Honestly, that may be a good choice, didn't you have a friend while you were in the dungeons that you told me about, what was his name, Callias?" Arthur suggested, and he wasn't wrong for thinking about someone who fought with me in the dungeons, but Callias isn't where we need him to be to make this impactful.

"Last time I was with him, he was only in the orange stages, I'm sure he hasn't progressed that much." I shrugged to myself, looking down at Aya, if we would give it to someone who was in silver core, they could break into white possibly, I still think that is the best choice, but having another silver core mage wouldn't hurt. "So, it would be a waste to use it on him, even if he was strong for his core level."

"At the moment, Jasmine is the best choice." Arthur said, or Adam, he probably was around yellow core. "I fought with her, she could be a powerful ally given the chance if she would make it to white core or silver core."

"Or I just use both of the horns, and try to reach integration phase, which I am pretty sure is somewhere near asuran level." Another idea popped into my mind. "We could also split it, each giving half to our acclorite."

"Oh, yeah." Arthur responded. "We have time to think about it, giving it to someone else, and possibly creating another powerful Lance, or just a mage, is a really go idea."

I wasn't thinking they would become a Lance, but I mean, hey, if they are white core, might as well. "What are we going to do now? It's been a week basically, and we have now fought a Scythe, and three Retainers."

"I haven't decided, but I may leave the field, and train some more, get into white core, and get stronger." I knew that already. "But I am sure you knew that already."

I laughed. "Haha."

"I'll take that as a yes, but that means you are done in the field." Arthur spoke seriously, and I was taken back by it.

"No way, I'm fine, Arthur." I insisted. "I have things to do, and they are only things that I can do."

"Like what?" Arthur asked me.

"I would like for Elder Virion to give me a small force and allow me to just travel and take out the Alacryan bases underground, but I don't think he will let me, and also I don't think we have the manpower for it." That was one of my plans, I had others, like one for the Elshire Forest.

"No way am I allowing that." Arthur was such an older brother, jeez. "We will find something for you to do."

"You can't control me you know, if I want to do something, I can do it." I knew this was most likely not the truth, because it was not just him, it would be Elder Virion, Aya, and so many more. Even if I was a Lance, they all care for me, and want what is absolutely best for me at all times.
